Comment: We were passing thru Michigan on our way back home and had a leaky tire… it was a Sunday and there were hardly any spots open that could help us out in a timely manner. These guys were super busy but still took time to prioritize us so we could get back on a very long road trip. They took real good care of us and patched up the leak extremely well considering the cause was a cracked rim! Additionally, I left my bank card at the counter after paying, didn’t discover it til the end of the road trip, and they were kind enough to promptly mail it out immediately… Thanks guys, great job, you deserve 6 stars ⭐️

Comment: KUDOS!!! Last weekend I took my car to WACC to have them look at the engine splash shield that was torn and coming off the bottom of my car. I was quoted a price of $190 for parts and labor. Since the part needed to be ordered I waited until this weekend to have the repair done.When the mechanic started to do the work he noticed that he could make the repair without having to replace the part. Ash, the owner, let me know and explained the situation to me and told me that if it was his car he would have the same repair done to it. The repair was only $45.I know virtually nothing about cars, so had he had his staff do the initial repair that had been described I wouldnt have known any better.I cannot commend him enough for his integrity in forsaking the additional money that he could have earned. It speaks very highly of his character and honesty.I hope he is rewarded with additional success in his business.Update: 04/30/23: Took my car in again because of the first positive experience and will continue to do so whenever my car needs a repair. I trust Ashraf when he tells me what needs to be fixed on my car.

Comment: Mo and Ash were extremely helpful. My power seat on the driver side was not functioning and the seat was stuck super close to the steering wheel the day before a road trip. I called before 10min before close and they were kind enough to still help me. Mo was able to fix the whole issue and got the seat moving again, greased the area and helped me with a few other issues with the car as well! They were super transparent with the issue and reasonable with the price, will definitely be going back to them. Highly recommend!

He helped me understand the cost to me, whether I chose to use my insurance or not. I appreciate that he understood that not everyone wants or has the option to do things the way everyone else might. Giving people options and helping them make decisions about car repairs is something VERY FEW people actually do anymore.Through no fault of their own, the repairs took forever (Ive changed insurance companies now!) We had pulled over to see if something was dragging and we couldnt find anything. We ended up going to AutoZone and they referred us to washentaw auto care. They said the flap to the bottom area of the car had come loose. They fixed it and we are now back on our way!! They didnt even charge us which is what my bff was afraid of. Comment: One of the tire pressure sensors on my vehicle was malfunctioning, so I took it to Washtenaw Auto Care Center for repair. I called a week in advance and made an appointment for the following Thursday. They didnt complete the repair until just before close on Saturday evening. That was fine with me, although I wish my appointment time had been honored. What wasnt okay was the fact that less than 72 hours after receiving my fixed vehicle, the tire where the sensor had been replaced went completely flat. I did not realize the flat until I was driving, as the tire pressure warning light on my dashboard wasnt triggered as it should have been had the repair been done correctly. Not only was the repair done improperly, it made the vehicle objectively unsafe to drive. It was worse off for having done the repair than not having a mechanic service it at all. I had it towed to the shop and havent heard anything since. Very disappointing.EDIT: The manager (Sam) apologized for the mistake made during the repair and confirmed the TPS replacement caused the flat. They fixed the flat and I received a full refund plus a coupon for a free oil change. I appreciate the steps he took to make it right. My trust has been restored. I look forward to using Washtenaw Auto Care again in the future.

Comment: TL;DR — Give these guys your business! Character matters.On a Sunday evening, just before closing time I heard a rattling in my car as my wife and I were moving out of state. I called around to a number of places in the area, but no one else would service me that late on a Sunday. Ash, the owner, happened to pick up my call and told me to swing by to try and help me out as much as he could, though he modestly added he didnt know too much.Diagnosed the car, changed my oil and when I tried to pay him and thank him for the late service, he waved me off, no questions asked. He explained that I must have had a hard enough day already, and that he didnt want to add to it. WHAT. A. GUY.Very rarely do you ever have these types of interactions anymore, and I just want to thank him as best as I could, living that good neighborly spirit.Id drive back to Michigan just to service my car here! Even while watching him interact with an employee and another customer, I just saw everyone feeling comfortable and happy to be there.

When I got there everyone was really friendly, professional and honest. The work I needed done on my car turns out was an easier fix then the other shops had made it seem with a price that was WAY below what the other shops had estimated. My truck started sounding funny so we went to the first auto place we found we were turned away went to the next and were turned away then we found Washtenaw Auto Care. They were very understanding of our situation got us in quick. Comment: Ive used Washtenaw Auto Care a couple of times for either minor or major repairs on my 1999 Corolla because of its proximity to the AATA Washtenaw 4 bus line. In general, I have found their mechanics to be knowledgeable and fair. Repairs and assessments sometimes take longer than stated (or require calling the office to find out an update), but honestly Ive never been to a mechanic where that wasnt the case (especially good mechanics - they are busy!).As an example, I recently brought my Corolla in to their shop because it was intensely smelling like gasoline when parked and I suspected that there was some sort of fuel leak. I dropped off the car in the morning, and by the evening they had diagnosed the problem - all 3 fuel lines were rusted out and flaking (for basically their entire length), along with both of the brake lines. They offered to text me photographs of the rusted lines, but instead my husband and I went to the shop and they walked us under the car and showed us the problem. They quoted me ~$950 to fix the problem.To make a decision as to whether it was worth it to do the repair (vs. just buying a new car), we had the mechanic do a full inspection of the car to determine if there were any other major issues lurking (it is an 18 year old car!). In the meantime, we also looked up information online about fuel and brake line repairs and called another mechanic that we use regularly for a second opinion (Japanese Auto in Ann Arbor). Japanese Auto confirmed that our 1999 Corolla was originally built with steel fuel and brake lines that werent sprayed with any sort of sealant/protectant (sorry - that might not be the correct word) so they typically do rust out at some point in response to Michigan road salt and weather conditions. They said that $950 was a great price, and that it was probably worth it to fix the car even though it is old (instead of buying a new car) if we think that we will be able to drive the car for at least another year or two. In the meantime, during the full vehicle inspection the mechanic at Washtenaw Auto found that our rear brakes needed some work too (down to 10% function), but that the rest of the car was in good shape (except for some more cosmetic issues, a small exhaust leak, and a small transmission fluid leak - they said just to top off the fluids). They didnt comment on the fact that the check engine light is on, but I know from previous experience that the check engine light is probably due to a malfunctioning oxygen sensor that is unlikely to affect the cars performance (it has been on continuously for 9 years). They recommended fixing the car instead of buying a new car. This recommendation is of course probably in their best interest, but it is worth noting that they do also help sell used cars - so I would imagine that a less ethical mechanic might be tempted to tell us that the car should be scrapped, offer to help sell us a used car, and then fix our car and sell it to the next customer, right?Final cost: $1240 for 3 new fuel lines, brake lines, rear brakes (rear shoes, drums, and hardware), tire rotation, and a full car inspection.... and hopefully that will buy us another few years. *knock on wood*

They quoted me a great price to replace my water pump then suggested that because the water pump is run by the timing belt that I should replace the timing belt and the other timing components and the total amount with the timing belt, water pump and timing components was not much more added to the total bill. I took their advise and added the timing components. I went to pick up the truck and everything was perfect they did a great job and the price was what they told me with a few extras thrown in at no charge. I would recommend them to friends and family without having to worry about the job they do. Everyone knows about people that expect more than can be delivered and I expect a lot they did all that and more. I had my car towed to Washtenaw Auto Care for a second opinion. Washtenaw Auto Care were very honest in their diagnostics and told me my problem was only a fuse. Comment: I was driving on Washtenaw when I noticed smoke coming from under the hood. It was almost 8 pm and I was lucky a place was still open. They looked at it right away and saw that the other place I went to forgot to put the cap back on after changing the oil! So of course oil was splashing at every bump and burning up. They cleaned out all the oil and directed me to OReilly to get a new one for five bucks. They did not charge me anything and were very friendly.
