Comment: While visiting in Jackson from out of state, my car started making noises from underneath and the more I drove it, the worse it got, and the more afraid I was to drive it. It was late afternoon and I had to get back home. I called Tamrox Automotive and they told me to bring in. The young lady working there, I believe her name was Kelly was super nice and the mechanics got my car fixed in no time! If I ever have problems with my car again while Im up there, Im definitely taking it to Tamrox, and I highly recommend them to everybody in Jackson! They are awesome!

We found damage on my car that should have prevented it from being sold to me by the dealership, and I thought surely I was going to have to cut my losses and buy a new car. Comment: Impressive! I saw one problem with my car. I got an appt the next day. They did a complete inspection of my car. My 17yr old car had lots of problems. I got repairs needed just to be road safe (per my request). It was test driven by 3 different pros to insure I could drive safely and my concerns were addressed. They were super easy to deal with. I recd a very detailed invoice and 3yr/36,000 warranty. Highly recommend!

Comment: I have used Tamrox since Fall 2019 when I purchased my 2016 Camry. I have had nothing but honest, respectful and quality service from this business. I recently had an oil change (8,000 miles using Mobil 1 Synthetic oil) and they gave me the complete Health and Safety inspection, which I wanted. My wife uses a local dealership service for her cars maintenance work because she still is under the warranty. They do inspections each time and rotate tires, etc. Tamrox matches and exceeds service of the dealership. They also test drive it after the mechanic completes the work and take it through a car wash before giving it back to me. I used to do a lot of work myself on my car, but dont as much now - I trust them with my car. Tamrox costs about the same as dealerships. They listen to your concerns and answer your questions. I have definitely recommended them to others I know.

I called several auto shops and all of the told me that I would have to take it to a dealership to get it repaired. My brother told me about Tamrox. He didn’t know if they could work on hybrids but he told me that their service was amazing. I can not even express how amazing they were and yes they repaired the hybrid system. They’re always quick to get my car in, quick to inspect for any possible issues and come up with a game plan to resolve the issues, and affordable! The staff is always very nice and they reach out regularly asking how my car is doing and reminding me when services are coming due.I recently took my car in for an inspection before summer travels begin. I had scheduled the appointment for a Friday morning and they called back late morning to let me know the results of the inspection. After discussing what was most important to fix/do maintenance on at the time, they let me know a cost and told me it would likely be done by that afternoon; they also offered a courtesy car for the weekend if the repairs weren’t going to be finished before closing for the day- but everything was ordered and repaired by 4:30 and I swung by to pay and pick up my vehicle!I definitely recommend Tamrox and I personally plan to continue taking my current and future vehicles to them for service!

Throughout the whole process, I was in contact with Kelly who provided details on what was a high priority vs low priority, progress updates regarding my car, and even gave me a call a few days after to see how my car was holding up. As someone who does not understand a lot about cars, I appreciate the time that Kelly provided to explain everything to me. Also, it was a nice surprise to see a note written by one of the mechanics who worked on my car. They’ve addressed misfires, rebuilt calipers, welded and replaced exhaust components, and on and on. Their loaner cars have saved the day on at least two occasions. Comment: I had me vehicle towed to them for repair of a possible bad alternator at 5 PM on a Friday. They were unable to start until Monday. They stayed in contact with me on Monday and began repairs on the alternator. The initial after market failed and needed to wait for a manufacturer supplied alternator.They provided a loaner car during the delay which was nice as I had looked at renting a vehicle. The repairs were completed on Wednesday after waiting on the new alternator.They maintained communication and informed me all along. I picked the vehicle up at the end of the day. Later that evening I realized the A/C was no longer working. Called the next day and they scheduled me right in. Provided another loaner vehicle. Was contacted that 2 of the seals on the A/C lines had cracked. They made repairs and accepted the cracks may have occurred during the alternator repair as there was no additional charge for the repairs.I recommend them for your auto repair needs with this show of integrity and customer satisfaction.

I had really bad trust issues with mechanics because of a few shops just not doing their jobs correctly or saying everything was fixed when they didnt really fix anything.They replaced my whole engine and more work since then. I highly recommend this place to everyone. You are charged fairly and you just got to remember you get what you pay for, so if you are upset at a price they give and know someone who will do it for cheaper go that way if you want but I wouldnt if I were you. Comment: Towed my car that my sister drives to Doctor appointments and the grocery store. It wouldnt start without a jump, then wouldnt start with a jump. Thought it needed a starter. After they inspected and ran diagnostics, they found it only needed a battery, but found several other things wrong with the car. Some things seemed reasonable (price) and some things seemed expensive. I went ahead and okayed the repairs on the phone. I thought $268.66 for a battery was way too much. I was told that the prices have gone up a lot lately. When they sent me a copy of the charges, I saw the labor for the battery was $140.97. I asked why so much for labor and the woman told me the tech said it was really hard to get at. I said I had no trouble replacing it myself 5 years ago and it was easy to get to. Then she said said oh, I made a mistake! I made the estimate too high, do you want the difference to go to future repairs or back on your card? I asked how much, and she said $50. I said I thought it should be closer to $100, but she would only refund $50, so I took what I could get. $90.97 labor for a battery when other places put it in for free when you buy it. It all seemed a little fishy, I have no trust in Tamrox, and Ill never go there again.Changing my 2 star review to 4 star due to the fact they refunded the labor on the battery. They also gave me a discount on a future repair, so I will give them another chance. One thing I forgot to mention is they are warrantying the work they did for 2 years or I forget how many miles. My sister wont put enough miles on it to matter anyway. Thanks to Tammy for making it right.

And their excellent front desk and professionalism makes up for a lot.I knew I needed new pads and rotors due to a groove worn. Went here hoping an independent place would be cheaper than dealer. I also expressed concern about my squishy feeling suspension and some clunkiness to the transmission.The cost of the brake work was not any cheaper than the dealer. But again, for me professionalism and a friendly front facing staff make up for a lot in my rating.They reported no breakages in the suspension and no transmission warnings in the computer system. I got the sense they never took the car for a test drive. Maybe I am just old and that is no longer a thing shops do, but I had hoped for some professional eval of my shocks and trans, not just a report that they technically still function via a visual inspection and a computer report. Suspension especially can easily need to be replaced, even if all the parts technically still minimally function.Nothing all that horrible about my experience, but nothing that would prevent me from trying a different independent shop or from just heading back to the dealer either.

Comment: I called first thing in the morning when they opened to see if they could get my Lexus in that had a major oil leak that I had a hard time sourcing myself. They got it in at 8am, had it diagnosed by 12pm, and after I approved the repairs, was finished by about 3:30pm all in the same day. I was astonished that they were able to get it in and finished on the same day and were able to source the part needed to get the job done quickly. I highly recommend Tamrox and will be bringing my Lexus back for repairs in the future. It is a little bit pricier than other shops in town but they also include a 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty with your repair to give you peace of mind for awhile after the repair is completed.

They didnt have the tools for nitrogen air suspension however they directed me to a dodge dealership. Most places say they cant help you however tamrox went out of their way to help me with what I need in order to fix the situation. For that I am very grateful! No matter how busy they are they always take time & help with everything they have. This business has the best customer service anyone could possibly ask for!Thank again tamrox for your time & services!

They were fast and thorough and gave me plenty of print outs and a good idea of what to expect in my used car and plenty of ammo to negotiate with. Everyone I spoke to was courteous and professional. I highly recommend (for what little I had done).

Comment: Fixing my 1999 Honda in a desperate situationThese guy rock! Had a serious brake problem with leaking brake line and fuel line. The car sits for 10 months a year in a protected garage.We come to Michigan for the fall season. Fired up the car , had no brakes and could smell gas. This is a summer only car so no exposure to winter salted roads so little rust...but it is a 20 year old car. Checked all over Jackson, Mi for someone to repair the problem...of course most every repair shop was two to four days out before they could look at it. These guys immediately looked at it and gave me the prognostics. The repair was more complex than the rest of the day would allow to repair so they lent me their loaner car to use so I could pick up the wife that night a the Detroit airport. All repaired the following day by 10 A.M. Granted any repair of this magnitude is expensive but i feel it was fair and has a 2yr/24k warranty on the repair. You go TAMROXAnd to make this repair a little less painful on my wallet they gave me a new customer 10% discount on labor!!

Comment: I have been going to Tamrox for tires, oil changes, tune up and brakes for the last couple of years. I drive a civic and my maintenance needs have been minimal however Tamrox is where I take my car when I need something done.They are friendly and honest. While replacing one of my tires, they accidentally made a ding over the wheel. My car has all kinds of nicks, scratches, bumps and dings. The damage was minimal and I would have never, ever noticed. They were sure to point it out and offer compensation beyond what I would have asked for! Stuff happens, this shop held themselves accountable when it happened. What more can you ask for?
