Comment: While driving from Ohio to Michigan (Go Bucks) to see our daughter, we experienced scary car issues two hours away from our destination. Pulled over into a gas station and the attendant referred us to State Street Auto which was just right around the corner. SSA received us with the utmost friendliness and professionalism. Kevin (our favorite Wolverine:) discovered that our lug nuts were loose on our rear passenger tire and readily fixed the problem. Thank you SSA for helping us out in our desperate time of need and getting us safely and quickly back on the road to our daughter. You can’t go wrong with State Street Auto.

Drop off your vehicle here and within hours you get a text with a link to a complete inspection report complete with a color coded tiered urgency level assessment. Never seen this before. They are now under common ownership with Abbot St Auto in Ann Arbor and Stadium Auto also in Ann Arbor who Ive been using and trusting for years for my VW Sportwagen. They diagnosed the problem correctly and Kris was willing to work with an extended warranty service I had subscribed to. They quickly determined the tire needed to be replaced, they put on my spare tire and called within the hour to provide me with a couple of quotes for tire replacement. While my car was in for the the tire replacement they also did a thorough check of routine maintenance items. During the review they took photos, checked fluid levels and sent all of the information to me. I appreciated this thoroughness and they even picked up on an item I knew would be coming up for repair, which I also had done. They kept me informed and were so nice to work with! Cant recommend them highly enough!

I dropped it off around 8 am and by 1 pm they had texted me a detailed diagnostic of everything that was in good condition or needed repairs. Sadly there was a lot more that needed to be repaired than I thought, but Brandon (who was fairly new) was very understanding of the fact that I could only afford to do what was necessary and gave me a fair estimate of what he recommended to get me back on the road safely. The repairs were going to take another day so they offered me a nice loaner car at no cost to me and my car was ready to be picked up in the afternoon the following day. Everyone at State Street Auto was very nice, professional, and understanding. I will definitely be back

Comment: This is my third visit and am very happy with the experience. Have worked with Kris and he has always been forthcoming about the repairs needed versus the ones which can wait. Also this time I got a wheel balancing and tire rotation and took the car to them 4 days later for some follow up noise coming from the tyres. They were very courteous and addressed my concerns. Also was great talking to their technical person Jack who was patient and explained to me that the sounds are due to uneven wearing of the tyres and with more use, they will evenly wear out and sounds will go away.Highly recommended! Also am very impressed with the detailed report they provide by SMS for every point on the inspection and also have an after hours car pick up by using a personalized locker. So in case you cant make in time to pick up the car and they close, you can pay by phone and use a secure locker service to collect the key and the car. Cheers State Street Auto Service!

They were very nice and upfront; explaining that they focus on German imports. They recommended State Street. The first time, they were not able to get my car to fail so they couldnt assess the issue, and I didnt have the issue again for a while. I brought it back 6 months later when it started happening again and they were able to diagnose the issue and repair it within only two business days. They also performed a complimentary inspection, and fixed one other issue for me. The gents at State Street Auto did a full evaluation of every issue with the car and broke it out by cost. Kris took me through the report and after finding out our plans for the car further broke down the items into what needed to be done now, what should be done soon, and what could wait. There was no push to add expense, and in fact, I felt he did his best to save us money. I will recommend this business to anyone I can. My son also had an upcoming sporting event the following weekend (which we purchased the RV for). They guys could have really taken advantage of me. They found a $4.99 O-ring that had broken causing the CEL. They also did a post purchase inspection to ease my mind about the purchase. AND on top of that, they got me back on the road in time for our event. We just drove 9 hours to Missouri for the event. Sprinter ran like a charm. No over-selling. Honest. Good people. I called State Street Auto because I have an upcoming road trip and really wanted to have this handled before my trip. They made an appointment for the next day, and said they wanted to take a look at my car before they could give me an estimate. After they looked, they determined the rattle Im hearing (and no one else IS hearing) may not be from the muffler. Due to not KNOWING what is causing the rattle, they recommended that I not do anything at this point. The dealership didnt KNOW for sure either, and yet they recommended muffler replacement based on a guess. Now I am sold on State Street Auto Service. They are friendly, professional, and clearly are not trying to rip off their customers. I am happy to have found them, and plan to go here for all of my future auto service needs!

They were booked for the afternoon, but they asked me to leave the car so that they could take a look if they had time.
