Took my 25 year old vehicle in 2 times for separate things and the first problem was fixed after 2 visits but they discounted the whole first visit because it ended up being a replacement rather than a repair. Then the second problem ended up a body work problem they diagnosed but couldnt perform and didnt charge me for that either. Lucky to have a great shop in town.

Comment: I drive to Munising now for work everyday and have been putting miles on the car. For in and out jobs, Skips has been awesome. The wait is a little bit (to be expected in Munising), but the value and honesty has come a long way. Ive broughten my car in a couple times now.Just yesterday, I dinged my tailpipe going over a train track and cracked my pipe a bit. I already had an appointment for today for a possible bushing replacement. Felt bad when I asked if they could take a peak at my exhaust aswell since it wasnt what I scheduled for. They accommodated my request and welded what I broke and only charged me labor.Thank you to the staff.

Comment: We were traveling from Tennessee and our Transmission Warning light came on, we called the closest Subaru Dealer and they would not help us, we stopped at Skips and waited till he came back from lunch, as soon as he got back he stopped what he was doing and got his diagnostic computer out and hooked our car up in the parking lot and diagnosed what was going on and would not even charge us! What joy yo find such amazing people when you do to ow anyone and are at others mercy!

Comment: Amazing service. Hit a pothole on our trip in Munising going out to Miners beach. Our truck was making odd noises afterwards. We finally took it in and thank goodness they could help us. We had a broken bearing on the truck and it could have been bad! Our front tire was wobbly when he lifted the front up on a jack. They were busy and short staffed, but the owner still took a look, which we are so thankful. We would have been stranded somewhere if he didnt help us out. Thanks everyone at Skips! Comment: These guys are the best at what they do! Highly recommend! They are completely booked up. That being said, I had a emergency 2 flats, one tire flew off the rim. I was able to putt putt into their parking area riding on the rim. Although they are extremely busy they were able to spare a few minutes to help and fix my tire issues without hesitation. Good people, trust worthy and honest! Also UP towing is a great company aswell! Extremely knowledgeable and will share honest opinions on the best route to take for the fix.

Skips Auto was the first and closest business to show up. I arrived at Skips and spoke to the gentleman behind the desk ( I wish I would have asked him his name) He immediately went and inspected my vehicle. He found out what was wrong and began to fix it. It was a simple fix but he was very professional and efficient. He double checked it to make sure it was fixed and even gave me information on a possible issue with my vehicle. I was absolutely impressed with him and his professionalism. His price was very reasonable as he could have made me pay alot more. I highly recommend Skips Auto Repair. If I ever am in the area and have car issues I know exactly where I will be going. Thank you for all your help!

I dont think they need my positive review because it looks like everyone in the area uses them judging by how busy they were. I took my car there after getting it looked at a week ago, back home, leaving My car for hours and running up a $500 repair. Upon my arrival in munising I realized the problem was never fixed. I went to skips on a whim, hoping to save my vacation. One of the staff said he would look at it to make sure it was safe, since they were really busy. He hopped in the car, found the problem in literally 30 seconds or less, offered to get my car in, and then fixed my problem in 15 minutes at a good price, when I easily could have been taken advantage of being so far from home. Thanks for saving my vacation, and easing my mind.

Comment: We were planning to drive from Houghton, MI all the way home to Buffalo in one day with three kids. We stopped for gas and must have run over something because our tire quickly went flat. A local pointed us to Skips a few blocks away. They literally stopped what they were doing, took off the tire, repaired the flat and had us back on the road in about 15 minutes, charging us $10. These guys were complete life savers!

Comment: We got a flat tire the first day of our vacation and the friendly people at Skips Auto got us in right away and fixed it within an hour, at such a reasonable cost. They even checked out the check engine light that had come on during our drive to the UP. Wed highly recommend their shop!

Comment: My daughter broke down in Munising on Memorial Day with my youngest daughter and my grandson with her. Ron from Rons body shop helped her on that Monday to determine it was a bad wheel bearing. They all stayed in a Motel for the night and called Skips as soon as they opened on Tuesday. Skips treated them great and got them in to fix it before noon and had them back on the road by early afternoon. The labor charges were spot on book time and very reasonable. I cannot thank Skips enough for treating my children so well and helping them during a travel emergency. Seems there are many good people there in Munising, Skips Auto Repair, Rons Body Shop and the Munising Motel Staff are all good people as far as I am concerned.

Comment: My sister and I were vacationing and discovered that our tire pressure was low. Skips team was really busy but took time to look, confirm the integrity of our tires, filled them up and didnt charge us a cent. We were impressed and very appreciative!

Comment: We were traveling from out of state when our car oil pan unfortunately suffered a crack from a rock on one of Michigans many dirt roads and ran out of oil. Skips Auto towed us within the timeframe they told us (30 minutes) and gave us a ride to the repair shop. Jerry, the tower and mechanic, was SUPER friendly and truly wanted to help us. He took time to do some preliminary diagnostics to help determine the extent of the engine damage, told us of the nearest car rental and gave us the phone number for the local bus/taxi service. They werent able to fix our car before our trip was over (ended up renting a UHaul to get the truck back to MN), but they let us get in and out of our car for camping supplies on a few occasions. Jerry and Heidi (the front office manager) even stopped by the Saturday we were getting our car ready for the UHaul and offered to help, even though it was their day off and Skips wasnt even open! Stellar service!!! Its always crappy when your car breaks down, but especially a bummer when youre in a super small town with not much help close by. The process was much easier with Jerry and Heidis help. And they only charged us for the tow! Thanks guys!!! :D

Comment: Our engine light came on so we brought it in. We waited no longer then 5 mins and they came out worked on it had a part at the shop. They put it in. Total time was about 20mins and the price was 32 bucks for everything. Very friendly and great service!!

We got to see how the door was put together and what the problem was. He was friendly and helpful. He made my day!

Comment: Lost a belt on my way through town from Marquette. I came in without any prior calls and they got to my car right away so we could get on the road. I needed a part they didnt have and couldnt get right away. They found another part that will work and got my car running again. If it werent for Skips I wouldve been stuck there another day. ABSOLUTELY GREAT service, and a great place.

Comment: We are so thankful for the service we received at Skips while on vacation. Our sliding van door came off the track, and the guys at Skips helped us immediately. They fixed our problem in about 20 minutes, when we thought wed likely spend a day of our vacation fixing the problem. They charged us very little. Great service, friendly attitude, very fair pricing. We highly recommend Skips!
