Comment: My jeep wrangler rear brake was smoking and smelled. I contacted Ryans via email on a weekend and to my surprise they contacted me back and told me to bring it in on Monday morning. They took the time to determine what exactly was wrong..before they worked on it. I have been to other repair shops that just kept trying different things .. costing me extra money. Matt was very helpful and kept me informed throughout the process. Once they determined the brake caliper was sticking and needed to be replaced I was contacted with a quote and was told that eventually I would have to replace the rotor and pads ... But no pressure on doing it now ... Again very much appreciated that. I told them go ahead and replace it all. Once complete they called and let me know it was ready....I told them I had to wait for my husband to get home from work...they even offered to come and pick me up and bring me to the shop . Awesome customer service we will be using Ryans auto repair for all future work and recommending them. Thank you!

Unlike other shops, they really seem like they care about their customers and I felt confident that the work they told me needed to be done, actually needed to be done. Our service technician Aaron was especially great, and took excellent care of our car, its running like new now at 10 years old! 10/10 recommend this shop.

I’ve never had lack of faith that my vehicle wasn’t addressed properly.Matt is an incredible representative who is not only knowledgeable on pricing and quotes, but also about the service actually being done, so if you have questions, he knows how the technicians worked on your car.Erin, one of their technicians, took care of my car and took me home after I dropped it off that night, free of charge. He does an incredible job.Let it be known that Ryan’s takes care of their employees well as well, so you aren’t paying for someone to perform cheap labor on your car. They start with taking care of their employees and that translates into excellent work and service.Could not be happier to have mechanical problems that I need solving just to experience the pinnacle of American small business.

Comment: I usually have no trouble fixing my own vehicles, but one day in 2018 my little old truck decided to cut out in the parking lot on my way to work. I spent hours trying to diagnose it myself, but couldnt figure it out. I first found Ryans Auto Repair on Google. Impressed by the 4.9 star rating, I gave them a call.James was communicative and present, and recommended me an inexpensive towing service and gave me a reasonable quote to get it checked out. Turned out to be a sensor issue, and it was replaced quickly and cheaply. I ended up having issues with the sensor (aftermarket, but cheaper... they warned me) but they had me bring the truck back in and replaced it for the difference in price between the two parts.I got a new car recently, and did some work on its electrical. One of the problems was that it had bigger tires on it then it came with, so the speedometer and odometer were off. I called two local dealerships, and both of the mechanics I spoke to were quick to shut me down and say that reprogramming the wheel size was impossible (which is completely bogus). About 10 phone calls later, I still hadnt found a shop that knew how to do it, or even that it could be done......But then I called Ryans, and they were happy to help out.The first time I brought the truck to them, they diagnosed some of the error codes being thrown and told me that they could do the reprogram, but not until the other issues were resolved. They told me what they were, and allowed me to take the car to try to fix them myself with no charge. Ended up being great, because I took care of part of it myself.Later I took it back, and they told me that the car had no ABS sensor on the left side, which in this particular car was part of the hub assembly. Again they let me take it home with no charge try to deal with it myself. I ended up not being able to remove the Hub due to horrible corrosion, so I took it back to them. They did the reprogram, changed out the Hub, ended up having to switch out part of the front left control arm, and gave it an alignment. Great price too.One of the things I really like about this shop is that before they do any work, they call you and ask for your input. They give you alternate options. They dont just tell you how much its going to be, they explain whats wrong and why. Ive heard so many horror stories of mechanics charging thousands of dollars doing things that were not approved by the customer and forcing people into debt, of shops not properly diagnosing issues and charging more for unnecessary repairs simply because people dont know much about the car they bring in. This is NOT one of those shops.The guys who work here are kind, personable, and gave me some good laughs. Never once speaking to any of them was I made uncomfortable, nor were they ever once condescending (some people in tech and mechanical fields really can be).Overall, overwhelmingly positive experience every time Ive gone to this shop. If I could give them two thousand stars, I totally would.

Comment: UPDATE: The owner called and apologized for the difference in price from what I was quoted to what I actually paid. He is offering to refund the difference which is very admirable. Also, upon further investigation, I do not believe it was Ryan’s auto repair fault that the tire came off. It was perhaps due to the previous owner lack of tightening the lug nuts. I really Appreciate Ryan’s for calling me and also they offered to fix a part on my truck for no additional cost to me. Ryan’s is true to their word and values the work done right and value customer service. I would recommend them to family and friends!Ryan’s auto repair is very friendly and nice, however, I was told one price over the phone and when I went to pick up my truck they apologized and said that it was another price which was about $175 more. Also, I’m not completely sold on the quality of their work to the price factor. After getting work done because they were closest to my house, I got quotes from 3 different places and they all quoted me $200-$350 less than what Ryan’s charged me. Also, I had to take my truck back up immediately after I had picked it up because there were “new” odd occurrences in which when I drove it again after the second time, my driver side wheel popped off while I was driving!!! I chose Ryan’s because they had looked at another suv for me and stored it for a while without charging me anything so I thought that was nice and all. I’m not sure what to think but I will have to take my service elsewhere

Comment: The amazing customer service is what deserves these 5 stars. I got a free quote and diagnostic for my vehicle about 6 months ago and brought it in last week to finally make the reparations. Despite forgetting to do one thing, they got it done in a timely manor and done well. The part they forgot to fix was corrected almost immediately with no cost to me but the part it required. They picked my car from my work and dropped it back off before i clocked out. I will definitely be going back! Great pricing as well. Cost less than i anticipated!

Called James at Ryan auto to see about the warranty on the alternator and came to find out the company that made that alternator was out of business. This was suppose to be a lifetime warranty but no one was left to honor it. This is where James at Ryan’s auto stepped up. Even though they didn’t have legally do anything they honored the warranty themselves and too care of my sons car. These guys deserve your business and keep working to keep it.

Comment: I worked with James for my repair. He answered the phone 3rd ring on LABOR DAY while I was broke down on I275. He referred me to a fairly priced tow company, and diagnosed the truck quickly. He gave me options after diagnostics, and communicated with me through the entire process. After the repair, he double checked a couple things to make sure nothing was damaged peripherally due to the nature of my repair. I wouldnt HESITATE to go to Ryans again. James was AWESOME!

I have been going to a Toyota dealership for years and started to feel as if they were creating more issues than they were resolving just to bring in revenue. Ryan’s fixed the problem with my vehicle quickly and surprisingly cheaper than I anticipated. They even offered to give me a ride home (local) if I didn’t want to wait the short period for repairs. The guy I dealt with was James, very genuine and thorough. Ive been back twice now and each time had a great experience. They gave me an honest opinion on what needed to be fixed at a very fair price. And speaking of that, an honest auto shop is pretty rare, and these guys are just that ... honest. Comment: As a woman Having to go in to a shop and get work done on my car makes me automatically feel like mechinacs try to rip me off for services. This is not the case with these guys! It is more like you brother/son looking out for you. I have had 2 of our cars in there for servicing and when I bought my new car and the blinker went out I bought a new one but couldnt figure it out. I took my car up there and bam in 5 minutes fixed the cost $0.00. Yep free. Just today my coolant light came on ( its a new car and I dont know how to open its hood,felt like a complete fool,). Went and talked to Paul he showed me how to open my hood. And where to add coolant if the need arises again but todays cost for the coolant added and the class on how to open my hood again was FREE. These guys treat me and all women the same no scamming done here!this is a safe place for women to get work done.

Comment: Paul at Ryans Auto repair, helped me out of a jam today! I was trying myself to rotate the tires on my Saturn, and it turns out, that the last person I had my car repaired by, put the lug nuts back on with an impact wrench... I couldnt get them to budge at all, in fact, I twisted my 4-way apart! I looked online, and found good reviews about Ryans. And since I wasnt going back to the mechanic who did this to my car, I tried them. I explained to Paul that I just needed the lug nuts broke free, so I could finish the job myself. Paul helped me out right away. He got the lug nuts freed, a re-torqued them properly, with a torque wrench, unlike the last mechanic I used. And when I asked what the charge was, he told me not to worry about it! Most mechanics would not offer to do this at all. In fact, most mechanics would want the tire rotation job themselves, and probably fish for more work, once they get your car on a hoist.... Needless to say, Im very impressed with Ryans auto repair, and I will be returning there the next time I need a mechanic. Ask for Paul, he was great!

Comment: I took my car to this shop and when I picked it up the breaks were rendered useless. I originally took the car in for a power steering leak I had been driving the car from canton to Warren without issues. When I picked my car up the breaks were useless and after taking it into another shop they told me that my breakline had been cut. The second shop said that there is no way the line could have been broken because it was a slice and not a break.Edit:So yesterday the owner of this shop reached out to me to talk about the situation mentioned above I was caught off guard by this action. The shop owner apologized for the inconvenience and offered to make thing right. Whats mentioned up top may have been a big misunderstanding or an accident considering the fact that my girlfriend never called back to discuss the problem. I really respect the fact that he reached out to me discuss the issue and offered to make things right for that Im going to up the review. That action shows good character. The shop owner sounds like a person who genuinely cares about people and their service.

In fact, Ive had a rough time getting good service for the past 25 years, dating back to when I first got my license in 1991. Repair shops (dealerships and independents) in Michigan and in nearby Toledo have three chief problems:1) Every repair shop has things in particular that they like to fix, and chances are theyll say that that one particular thing on your car needs service or needs to be replaced.2) Repair shops see foreign car owners and start salivating, thinking that people who can afford cars that cost maybe $5,000 more than domestic equivalents are somehow money bags when in reality foreign car owners are often people who are trying to squeeze their money a bit farther. My foreign car is over 17 years old.3) All repair shops make mistakes. Mistake one is fixing the wrong part. Mistake two is not fixing the part right. The measure of a repair shop is how they own up to their mistakes, either fixing the wrong part or fixing the right part wrongly.Based upon this criteria, Im incredibly impressed with this repair shop. First of all, theyre not trying to gouge me. I know how much parts cost and I know roughly how much time they take to replace. [As a computer programmer, I understand that fixing cars takes years of training to do right. Cars are complex things and even if mechanics make a job look easy its not because the job is easy its because the mechanic is good.] Secondly, this repair shop made a minor mistake and forgot about a required hose. They did not return the car to me without also replacing that extra hose for free. They focused on the exact problem I reported and fixed it exactly right. The car is getting better gas mileage as a result and theyve saved me at least $10 in the two weeks since Ive had the repair done.I would recommend doing business with this facility in a heartbeat. The prices are reasonable and the service goes beyond the call of duty. If you have anything bad to say about this facility, contact me personally because Id like to hear about it. This is the best shop Ive dealt with in 25 years.

Comment: Like others here, I went to Ryans based on all of the great reviews theyve received. I must say I am am thoroughly impressed with their work ethic and quality. There is definitely a reason they are getting high praises on here! To be fair, I waited to post this review approximately 3 weeks after they had completed the necessary repairs on my truck (wanted to make sure everything was ok and needed no return to shop ordeals). As I mentioned above, their ethics are awesome.....they are not in the business of trying to sell you something you dont need....only what is necessary for safety. They will make recommendations , but wont jam it down your throat or make you feel like if you dont do it, your vehicle will fall apart! They recommended an induction service based on the mileage of my truck and gave me the benefits of doing so. It was completely up to me to do it or not and so I did. Wow! What a difference it made! The gas mileage is better and the pick up is better than when I brought it in. Just an example of a recommendation and not a you better do this or your truck will blow up in the next few weeks. I will take all of my vehicles here from now on. Its rare to find an honest mechanic these days. Thanks Paul and everyone at Ryans! You guys are awesome!

Comment: We have been customers of Ryans for over 2 years now always receiving great service. Today again is yet another example of why we trust Paul at Ryans to service our vehicles. I placed a call to Paul at 8:20am after my morning commute explaining the noise and issues I had just encountered. Within minutes we had a plan. My Tahoe was delivered to the shop and diagnosed within a few hours. Paul had updated me on the problem, cost of the repair and estimated time it would be ready. He personally drove my husband over to pick up our rental car which he helped facilitate. I can not say enough good things about Paul and Ryans Auto Repair. They are absolutely fabulous and will treat you well from the moment you walk through the door!

Super Excellent Friendly Customer Service, My Truck was completely repaired and ready the very next day, not to mention I had dropped it off just the night before while they were closed due to my work hours. Comment: Ryans Auto Repair is top notch. I have been using Ryans for years and have found their customer service to be excellent. Whether it is for my business vehicles, small engine or my personal transportation they always do a great job and back up their work. Recently I had my wifes car into the local Volkswagen dealer for some needed repairs thinking that because its a foreign car the dealer would have been my best choice. Big mistake... After they charged me a $300.00 dollar diagnostic fee they tried to slap me with a $3000.00 bill for repairs that werent necessary. I was so perplexed that I called Ryans and explained my unfortunate situation. Randy and Paul told me not to proceed with the work and agreed to meet me at the dealer to look at the car. The guys from Ryans were able to see what really needed to be done and pointed out to me all the unnecessary charges the dealer was trying to levy just to earn some extra bucks. That took some pretty big stones if you ask me. Ryans took my wifes car and did a great job with the repairs. These guys can handle anything you throw at them foreign or domestic. You can trust Ryans to do the right thing.
