Comment: I’ve been coming to Royal Oak Automotive Care for four years for pre-purchase inspections, routine maintenance, and emergency repairs of my family’s vehicles. This is the only garage for me. Adel knows his stuff and charges a fair price for parts and labor. He and his mechanics get the job done right and go the extra mile. Recently, when I discovered a massive pool of oil under my 2010 Subaru Impreza (with a boatload of miles), I thought it had finally reached the end of the road. Adel encouraged me to tow it to his garage so he could look at it. He found a failed transmission fluid hose. Royal Oak Automotive replaced the hose, refilled the transmission fluid, cleaned the under compartment, test drove the car, and filled up the air in my tires (didn’t ask or expect that), and got my Subaru back on the road the next day.

I believe it was the owner of the garage, Adel, who swiftly got into action, providing the dog with plenty of blankets and care while we were seeking help for this poor animal during a bitterly cold winter night. He stayed with the dog until we were able to get her to an ER and remained open, offering coffee and water to those who were tending to her. It’s hard to find a mechanic that you can trust but after witnessing his actions that day I would definitely put my trust in Royal Oak Automotive Care.

They replaced the oil pan gasket. It still leaked. I had to take it back several times to locate the other source of leakage. They were able to located it and repair it. They did not charge me anymore than the original cost. The original cost was very fair. They also repaired some loose guarding under my OTHER vehicle at no cost for my inconvenience. This was excellent customer service. The owner (and one of the mechanics) Adel would not take more money. He was very kind and apologetic for need to bring the vehicle back. This was a pleasant experience with a small business that has earned my repeat patronage. You can usually get in pretty quick as they do not overbook from my experience.

Comment: Update: Just a warning that they may not be open right at 9am. I brought my car in again Dec. 2021, and am unfortunately docking a star because they did not open on time. They also didnt answer the phone when we called at 9-9:30am a few other times. Later they apologized and seemed genuinely sorry. Another repair shop had told me after 3 minutes of inspection that I needed 4 new brakes. Joe at Royal Oak Auto Care and his worker took a full hour to inspect my car (for free), and rotated my tires while they were at it (also for free). They explained clearly that I would only need to replace 2 brake pads and rotors, and did so later that day in a timely fashion. I feel safer and understand the inner workings of my car much better.I should also add that I tend to be easily confused/intimidated when it comes to car repair, but did not feel so at all here!

I appreciate the time they took to determine what could be wrong with it. I also appreciate thier honesty in telling me to get a second opinion. Comment: I will start out by saying, Royal Oak Automotive has restored my faith in auto mechanics.1) I never bring my vehicles to a mechanic because I dont trust them, they are expensive and I prefer to do my own work if Im able and have time to. 2) I never spend the time to leave a review, good or bad, because I never cared to spend the time to do it but these guys deserve a good one.I cant say enough about the service, honesty and integrity I experienced while dealing with Adel and his shop. The have a soul that I didnt know most mechanics had! Knowing that Id be without transportation to work, he provided a loaner, charged me for parts/and materials used and knowing he unfortunately couldnt help with the biggest issue, didnt even charge for their time in diagnosing and time in their best effort in repairs.It was a complicated issue (actually multiple) that they were able to pinpoint down to the engine computer (ECM). Doing their best to keep me from having to go to the Ford stealership for a new factory computer ($), programming ($$), and service charges ($$$), they did their best to get used computers to work, but unfortunately they didnt work. They found and fixed other issues for me and accurately diagnosed the rest.Again, cant say enough. Never thought I would trust a mechanic or have one to recommend to anyone, but now I do. They are the guys.

They are reliable, affordable, and their repairs are done in a timely manner.I was in just the other day for a control arm and ball joint repair. They were able to offer me a better price than the original estimate I got from another repair shop. And when the repair took longer than initially expected (due to a part issue outside their control) they stayed late, well past their normal hours, to finish the job.They really went above and beyond that day and I appreciate all their hard work.

They had it checked out within two hours, called me back, told me what was wrong with it and how much itd cost to fix, and when I called around, nobody else was able to match their price. They had the job done the same day (it was a bad coil and a tune-up). Overall, had were the fastest and most reasonable service Ive seen in an auto repair shop. Id recommend these guys to others, and Ill definitely be a repeat customer.

Comment: I cannot stress how honest this place is. I went in last week and he told me when would be a good time so they can devote the time they need to my car. Instead of getting upset like some, i came back and couldn’t be more pleased. For the best expectation of repair turn around, call ahead. Other shops will take your car knowing they are backed up and keep your car hostage, here they are direct and informative. Whatever that was to be repaired, he showed me my parts and the new parts going on. Explained it to a T and was very reasonable in pricing. This place is NOT here to screw you over (like many other shops who use cheap parts and up-charge) they are here for honest work. They will be my go to from here on out and I recommend anyone to try them out. They are great. They made sure my car was safe to drive as my brakes were virtually out. Thank you! 10 stars

Comment: In my humble opnion, this the best mechanic you can find for your car/truck in Metro Detroit.I have been taking my car there a couple times and I can say, that Adel and his team are very knowledgeable mechanics and do their best to deliver the best service. They fix everything as fast as possible and they are also charging very fair prices for their work. Usually I had my car back after a day and the price was always the same as quoted and if not, I was notified in advance with a detailed explanations. At that time, a local dealership was going to charge me for repair work that, as it turned out, I didnt even need. The mechanics at Royal Oak Auto Care told me exactly what should be fixed, and they did it for a reasonable price. Ive been taking my car there ever since. I was especially impressed when I brought my car in about another problem, and they stayed after hours to finish working on it so that it would completed that same day. Comment: Ive been going to Royal Oak Auto Care since right around when they opened about 5 years ago. They are very transparent, upfront about everything, and do solid work. If something isnt fixed the first time, theyll tell you to bring it back and theyll work on it until they get it right (but without all the typical add-ons and extra labor charges).Addel is usually in the front and gives great service and sounds like hes been around the block for a while in terms of automotive service. I would recommend this place to anyone. The quality of their work speaks for itself, since anytime I need service they are always slammed. Im definitely not their only repeat customer.

Comment: I was in a real bind when my truck broke down at work miles from home and the repair shop I usually use. These guys got my truck fixed up fast and for a fair price. Staff was very friendly, even popped the hood and showed me the parts that were replaced. I definitely kept their number, its hard to find an honest auto repair shop like this!!
