Comment: Its hard not knowing much about cars and understanding how dealerships and mechanics can take advantage of that when you need service. This place was recommended by a few colleagues and they were spot on. Nick and the team at Redline Auto are fantastic. Months after coming in just briefly he remembered my name. His prices were better than the quotes I received at nationally branded centers and he was honest about what I needed and didnt need. I will always take my car here.

Comment: Appreciate the honesty and quality of work! Went in for a check on warning lights and weird sound, got a reasonable estimate and authorized work. Got a call the next day that when the tech started work he ended up finding that the fix was a simpler issue and only ended up costing a third of original estimate to fix! No scare tactics and underhanded dealing! We’ll definitely come back in the future if we need to!

Comment: I have been taking my BMW to Redline Auto Service for years and can not speak highly enough of Nick and the team there. I trust and respect any recommendations or concerns they bring up. There have been times when I thought something was wrong with my car and they could have “fixed” something and I wouldn’t have known any better but instead after an inspection I’ve been told everything is ok! Comment: Purchased a higher mileage VW from a local dealership in June of 2023, got an appointment in August of 2023 to have redline look the vehicle over and address a few concerns/questions. Well, then we got news no one likes to hear, thousands of dollars of repairs and some MAJOR issues.I cant say enough great things about Nick and his team, we prioritized the issues, he worked with the repair contract company to get them documents and what they needed. I am happy with the repairs, feel like they are an honest shop, try to always due right by their customers and value the importance of fostering a life long relationship.If you have a VW, BMW or Mercedes I HIGHLY recommend this shop.

Comment: I purchased a Range Rover Evoque and had check engine light after check engine light. I took it to several shops and they never truly fixed my issue. On top of not fixing the issue, they actually made the issue worse. I took it to Redline, and Nick was very open about the road that we would be traveling down trying to chase the code. He was not only spot on to how we would find the remedy, but it worked! Furthermore, their prices were found to be very fair and worth the drive for me. Their staff was not only pleasant to work with, but a joy to speak with in the lobby. I was sitting in the lobby and Nick made two phone calls that stuck with me. I wasnt trying to eavesdrop, but I heard him tell two customers that the job came in under the estimated price. Who does that anymore? Redline Auto Service, thats who. I found my place for my foreign vehicle, and I am going to be bringing him my domestic as well. Its never nice to take your vehicle to the shop, but Nick and his team at least make you feel appreciated, and you know that they run an honest operation. Thanks guys!

They were quick, professional, and did everything to make the car better without adding extra costs. Nick even noticed a weak blower motor but said he would wait on changing it and costing more money if it worked this summer. I would take any car to Redline. Highly recommended!

The car is pretty heavily modified and Im not knowledgeable in all the areas this cars had work done to. Had him do a inspection/oil change/and catch can clean out. Also even found a missing nut on the 42 designs exhaust system that caused a minor raddle. Made me feel confident about my purchase and will be back for all my future work!! Comment: Ive lived around Lansing and in Dewitt my entire life. Redline is easily the best deal for the quality of service out there. Recently my Audi A5 broke down on me. My engine needed pistons changed as well as a new turbo and new timing chain. A big job that takes a long time and a lot of $$$. I didnt want to send the car to the Audi dealership, youre going to pay triple for the same service. This place has done everything on all my cars so I decided to send it here again and of course everything went by great and ten times faster than any other shop. The car is running great and I didnt go broke getting it fixed. Ive used redline for everything on all my foreign cars and its the best foreign car shop in the entire Lansing area. Nick always hooks it up great for his customers, redline will always fix the issue to the expertise of any place around but with a better price than anywhere else.

In the end, the Redline team completed the job faster than expected and, as a result, Nick charged me less. I was amazed with Redline’s pricing, pleased with their work and impressed with Nick’s honesty. I will now take my car to Redline for all of my service needs.

As I was referred to Redline Auto to diagnose my electrical situation with my classic 2003 Audi A6, I found my experience to be very affordable and professional.After taking my car to several mechanics, all of them referred me to Redline Auto who could problem shoot my electrical issue on my car. Redline instantly found the problem and than found an affordable solution that worked within my budget. Comment: Red Line Auto is a staple on the north side of Lansing that i have myself passed by at least a thousand times easy, yet this was my first time using them for service and once is all it took! I will NEVER go anywhere else for my repairs!The plain truth of owning European and foreign cars is the maintenance is generally more complex, involved and costly relative to American cars.Nick in the front office is quite accommodating and thorough and almost makes you feel like family. He alone sells the experience and Red-Lines overall costs in parts and labor are very reasonable when compared to some of the ripoff artists at other shops in Lansing and around campus .They are knowledgeable, meticulous and most importantly honest about what they are doing. After taking it here, they found it was just a loose wire to a temperature sensor and fixed it for $50. They saved me time, money, and stress. My girlfriends VW was giving us some issues and since she moved up from Miami meanwhile I stayed here for a bit, communication on my part was a little difficult given my work schedule and her limited knowledge of vehicles. Regardless of that, Nick was extremely helpful, patient, and understanding throughout the whole process. They did all they could to correctly diagnose the problem, communicate with us their findings, and immediately make plans to fix it. They were not satisfied until they ensured that the problem was completely and correctly fixed. Only then did they call us to pick up the car. Not many mechanics do that. Typically from my experience, other mechanics fix whatever they think is wrong and give it back to you without testing the vehicle to make sure that the problem was resolved. And next thing you know, the problem persists. That is not the case with Redline. And to add on, pricing was definitely fair! I cannot say enough good things about them. If youre looking for an honest, hardworking, communicative, and all around incredible mechanic shop, look no further. This is definitely the place to go.

Comment: I chose Redline based on a recommendation from both of my parents who take their vehicles there. I brought my car in with a basic idea of what was wrong with it and found it would be roughly $750 for repairs (would’ve been nearly twice that price at the dealership I purchased the car from). Upon making the repairs Nick at Redline found that one of my runflat tires had a large slash in it and was dangerous to drive on and on top of that my tread was pretty low on all four tires so it was best to buy a set. Nick offered me a reasonable price on a set of tires but encouraged me to shop around and assured me it was no problem if I went elsewhere for them. He recommended a specific tire he would purchase if it was his car and I took his advice to shop prices elsewhere. I ended up finding a better price on the tires, and when I went to pick up my car found Redline had managed to come in $150 under budget! Needless to say I was thrilled and appreciated the fast and professional service I received. I will absolutely bring my car here in the future with confidence that I am receiving great service at a fair price and I will recommend Redline to friends and coworkers alike.

Nick, the owner, is kind and professional. He gave me all the information I needed and gave me a real sense of security by letting me know what repairs we could do on my Mini, in order of necessity. Comment: I’d highly recommend taking your car here, I’ve had honest service every time, the quality is top notch, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Everything has been done in a timely manner.I had brought my car here after my partner had their Volkswagen serviced here a few times, and had a wonderful experience with the staff here every time. I’ve shared some of my experiences below.The first time I brought my car here was to get the valve timing and a few other things done for routine maintenance for almost half the price of what the dealership would charge for! About a week later, I did have a small issue after the service with some oil leaking onto the engine block from where the timing chain was located, but wasn’t sure if the valve cover had a small crack or the gasket had shifted when being reassembled (this can happen to anyone). Turned out that the gasket had a small roll by the timing chain, that was replaced under warranty with no charge. Been months since then and no leaks or smells to report.The most recent time I brought my car here was to have the brakes checked out, because the dealership had mentioned that the rear brakes had very little padding left before needing to be replaced during an oil change. I had all of the pads replaced a year ago at the same time. I had Nick and his dad take a look at the whole system and noted that there wasn’t anything that needed special attention or replacing. The kicker was that the pads had plenty of life left and did not need to be replaced. They also did not charge me a single penny to have the brake system looked over, which I had not expected.

The dealership wanted to charge me an arm an a two legs and no other place would fix diesels. Not only did he talk me through the repairs done on my car, but took the time to delineate steps of proper maintenance I should be taking to extend the cars longevity. Comment: Nick and his team are a class act. I was greeted with courtesy respect and concern for my machine when I first spoke with him about a basic question. There are very few places that work on luxury vehicles with the more than competitive prices they offer. I have had my BMW X5 in their care twice now with outstanding results. Nick also offered options of maintenance items that could be taken care of then but had some time before they needed to be addressed. My latest issue was a faulty window that would not roll up. He made room in his shop to park the car until they could diagnose and repair the problem as cold and snow were in the weather forecast. They will tell you exactly what your car repair situation is, and give you the priorities by which you should proceed, making your safety Priority 1. Nick, I believe to be the owner, will tell you what needs to be done, and what can be put off, and as an extra plus, gives great prices to boot. They specialize in foreign car repair, including VW, Honda, BMW, etc. Owning any of these models can often result in significant repair costs, especially if you go to the dealers. They helped me out in a pretty tough situation with my used car service warranty company and assured me that they would take extra care and to look for the best value option, and Im glad to say they DID! Comment: What an incredibly friendly and honest auto service company. I needed a transmission service on my Porsche Cayenne. The dealership wanted close to a $1,000 to do the service. Redline quoted me $600 for the same service with all original Porsche parts. When they called me to tell me my car was ready, they told me the service was $80 lower than quoted. Nick, the manager, said it was easier than expected and they used less transmission fluid to do the flush than expected, passing the savings on to me. It has always been my experience that auto service costs the quoted amount or more. It is very nice to find a business that cares for the customer. I stopped in yesterday to see for myself because I needed an oil change. I talked with Nick in the front office and he was courteous and helpful. I also asked about an oil change and was able to get in the following day. He also made a great suggestion about the type of oil to use in my 2011 Audi A5 Quattro, due to excessive oil consumption. When I got the dreaded P0420 code for bad catalyst in my 2002 Toyota, the dealer told me on two separate trips that I needed to replace all three catalytic converters ($2500), though they were only two years old. Could not convince them this was not the problem because it did not make sense with such new converters. Redline took the time to put the rear O2 sensor on a computer and that was the problem - output all over the map. Its been about 500 mi and no dreaded code! Thanks Redline for excellent service.

Comment: I won a free oil change and went to your shop for the first time. I received excellent service and everyone was very helpful. Nick was very patient and informative. He let me know some items that needed attention yet was not high pressure. The mechanic took me to see the items and explained the importance of each. I enjoyed the experience and had some additional repairs done that day!

Comment: Shortly after purchasing a 2000 Audi A6, a friend told me that if I ever had a problem with the car to take it to Redline. I drive by Redline on a regular basis and was always impressed with the cars in the lot, which led me to believe it would be expensive and snooty. I decided to give them a try with an oil leak, and while an Audi can be expensive to fix no matter where you take it, the folks at Redline were both professional and courteous. Nick always takes the time to answer questions, and walks me through every repair and whether or not it is truly needed. I now take the Audi and a 1987 BMW 325iS to Redline -- best garage in the area.

Comment: Its hard to find a good mechanic. I just recently moved to the Lansing area and Nick made me feel like a long time friend the second we started talking. He knew my name immediately and has made me feel right at home ever since. Very nice and you guys seem very honest in the work you do, which is hard to say for mechanics. I was in and out of there with no problems. I havent had any problems with the work and its been a real blessing finding you guys. Dont change anything and keep up the honest work you guys do over there!

Comment: Redline Auto Service in my opinion offers the most competent, reliable and honest auto service in Lansing MI. I have come to rely solely on them or services which they recommend for approximately ten years now. I cannot recommend them too highly.

Comment: I needed an diagnostic on my engine light, and wanted an expert and honest opinion. I thus avoided both the big guys and the chains. Redline gave me a nuanced analysis, was transparent about how long I could probably go before repair was absolutely necessary, did not push any other repairs or services on me, and didnt charge me for un-incurred shop time. I will probably go back for future auto work needs.

Comment: Red line is the gold standard in auto repair. If you care about your car, it is the only place to go. I have been a customer for 7+ years and the quality, price, and customer service cant be beat. Comment: I just want everyone to know that, first of all, I came here to Nicks place, Redline, because of all of the online rave reviews I saw on the Internet. When I spoke with him on the phone, prior to showing up, I felt right at home, and when I arrived for my appointment to have him flush my cooling system on my 200 Ford Taurus SE, he gave me the lowest price I had been quoted in the entire Ingham County area. I was sold! Then, when I showed up, he was waiting for me, and his technicians were immediately prepared to service my car. The work was done quickly, the price was great, and (because I am OCD about my car...non scratches or dents or finger marks on the paint!) my car was returned to me sans all of the above. What equally impressed me is that Nicks operation does everything BUT bodywork! I WILL be back to see Nick. He is gonna be MY EVERYTHING MECHANIC.

Comment: Took my elderly Honda CRV for a new timing chain, vct solenoid, and valve adjustment. Communications were very good, the work performed in a timely manner, and an additional part (oil spooler valve) was installed without increasing the estimate. The vehicle is running very well. Recieved a follow-up call to make sure I was satisfied. Highly recommend.
