I’ve had my 2017 Suburban in here several times for repairs and they were great handling warranties! Although this is a family business(husband/sister in-law), they treat customers just like they treat family! Super proud of all the staff with how hard they work for their customers!

Comment: Amazing people, amazing service. I had a breakdown on a Friday morning and they fit me in that day and drove me home. I was kept apprised of the situation throughout the day. Since the brand name part my car requires is on backorder for several months, they tried off brand parts. When the first one did not work, they had another brought in from Traverse City. When that one failed as well, they were able to clean up my original part to make it run until a new one is available. Still working like a charm after two months.I had another issue recently, unrelated to the first one. They were able to fit me in first thing the following morning and it was done in time for me to get to work.I was driven back and forth from the shop to my house.I highly recommend Northern Baer and I wont take my car anywhere else.

There was alot of work and Todd did good job working with me and getting what parts I wanted to get the performance I wanted they have also fixed my turbo jeep Cherokee 4.0 and welded up some spider gears as well. Love shops that will do requests just be patient when its peal season good job girls up front for dealing with me on a weekly basis lol .

Comment: My car had to get a new shifter as the old one was faulty. Had it go into neutral one day on a drive. Drove it to their parking lot, parked it overnight and I called them the next day explaining the problem. I initially had an appointment set for 2 weeks later but they ordered the parts and had it repaired within a week. Cost was expected and they treated me nicely letting me know what was going on while my car was there. Highly recommend them.

Comment: I will start by saying that I am a fairly experienced backyard mechanic who has been servicing vehicles for over 30 years. The reason I mention this is because even if I had never installed a wiper blade myself I believe they would have treated me no differently. My family and I were on our final road trip from Massachusetts to Michigan before my oldest son headed off to Penn State for his freshman year of college. Needless to say, driving a 12 year old minivan I anticipated possible car troubles. I pulled into Alpine auto at 5:10 pm and explained my situation. They were incredibly helpful and understanding, test drove my car, and told me I could bring the car in the morning and they would look at it. I braced my family for the possibility of spending several days waiting for the van to be repaired which would in turn have ended our trip and we would have headed directly home once the van was repaired. I assumed my wheel bearing was failing due to the noise and anticipated a fairly expensive repair. To my dismay they told me my aftermarket wheels were not mounted correctly (my fault) and charged me less than 2 hours labor!! I cannot say enough good things about a business that treats people with honesty and integrity! They had no clue just how upsetting it would have been to all of us had we missed out on the rest of our road trip yet they treated us as if we were a priority. All I can say is thank you and that the owners and employees of Alpine can confidently hold their heads up knowing they are decent people who are great at what they do. I cannot express just how grateful I am. Thank You So Much!

Comment: I was in the middle of a 10hr drive back home when my car was giving me issues. I called them first thing in the morning (less than 5 minutes after opening) and explained what was going on. They told me to swing by the shop and they would at least take a look. An hour later, maybe a little more they fixed my problem and got me back on my way and I didnt have to pay an arm and a leg. Super friendly and accommodating, would highly recommend!I would like to that Courtney especially being a part of this process and helping me out. She even reached out a couple days later just to check up on how things were holding up and if there were any issues after; there wasnt. Im extremely thankful for these people and will use them again without hesitation if I ever need to along my route.

Comment: Alpine Auto has proven their honesty to me a couple of times over a span of almost 10 years. A quick oil change place kept telling me there was something wrong with my transmission, based on fluid levels, so I went to Alpine Auto. They drove it, took it apart, checked the transmission, and found nothing wrong. Although they put a bunch of time into it, they charged me nothing. More recently, the dealership for my vehicle told me my air conditioning compressor was bad, and it would be $1200 to replace it. I called Alpine, and they said they could do it for under $900. After looking at it, they called me to say it wasn’t the compressor at all—it was a $20 relay switch! Alpine Auto has saved me hundreds of dollars, and I’ll continue to recommend them to everyone!

I called her early this morning,8am, might have been her first call. She said they were busy for the day but let me see what I can do. Mind you, I’m broke down heading back to work in Wisconsin. I don’t know what levers she(CorKathy) pulled, but the mechanics stepped up on their already busy day to help out a traveler trying to get back to work. She was able to squeeze me in despite a busy schedule. Beyond that, she offered to drive me to and pick me up from a coffee shop in town so I could get my work done while I waited for the truck to be fixed. Excellent customer service and speedy work. Comment: Had the unfortunate situation of our car breaking down on a weekend trip to the UP, and we were about 10 miles south of Gaylord.I called Alpine and told them of the situation (which I feared was complete transmission failure), and they said they would be able to inspect it and give a diagnosis. It should be noted that this was on a Friday at 4:30 that we brought the car in, and they were scheduled to close at 5:30.They inspected the car, confirmed the fear of a total transmission replacement, and went above and beyond in trying to find a rental car for us after spending a great deal of time on the phone calling companies/people left and right. To none of Alpines fault, all rental companies (Hertz, Enterprise, etc.) within a 100 mile radius were completely out of cars.They then offered to drive us all the the hotel we choose nearby, all while telling is we owed them nothing for the diagnosis, even after we told them we were going to scrap the car because it wasnt worth the repair.Overall, very friendly and personable people who helped us out in a time of need since we were three hours from home. If I lived up here near them, they would have a customer for life!

Comment: On a fishing & camping trip to Otsego Lake, I had problems with my transmission overheating and blowing fluid. That was on a Thursday night and I called them first thing Friday morning and they told me to bring it in. I thought that I had blown a cooling line and they looked it over. Turns out there is a vent on top of the transmission for overflow when it overheats. They checked it out and said it was okay to drive but not to push it as hard as I was on the way up North. They only charged a half hour of labor which I thought was fantastic for the quick service and peace of mind.

Comment: Main seal went out on my 06 cummins pulling our camper on a holiday weekend of course! Alpine took great care of me and made a few additional needed repairs. Price was fair and service was awesome. I will always head here if I have issues near Gaylord!

Comment: Had a brake line crack while on vacation last week. Not from the area but Alpine was near the State Park where we were camping. Took my vehicle there and they couldnt have been nicer. Had the front lines replaced as both were rusted. It was done the following day. Fair price for work on a 20 year old vehicle. They also charged my boat battery overnight without charging me. I would recommend them to anyone.

Comment: They were awesome. After a 4 month battle with Gaylord Transmission and $1700 my jeep still was not working. We finally gave up and took it from gaylord trasmission and towed it to Alpine transmission. 1 day and $175.00 Alpine transmission had my jeep running perfectly! (Gaylord transmission claimed it was a $750.00 fix) They were honest, fast, and courteous. Would recommend!
