I promise you, you can trust these people with your vehicle. The work they are going to do is going to be done right and they aren’t going to jerk you around with unnecessary repairs just to make a buck. As the mechanic said to me, “why waste good parts on something that doesn’t need to be fixed.”

Immediate buyers remorse set in... and we were preparing ourselves for the news that we bought a lemon.The car was towed to Northeast Automotive, mostly due to distance, but also we had heard good things about this shop.Turns out the front axle cracked, which has symptoms that mimic the transmission going out. What we thought was a catastrophe ended up being a relatively inexpensive fix.We will certainly be back! Appreciate the honesty, and the attitude of only fixing what is really needing to be fixed.

Ive had questions and wondered about noises and they did a free inspection just to tell me everything is ok. I got an oil change while I was there to save myself a trip. Ive even had repeat problems with other service centers and their answer was to get me a lifetime warranty on a part that I had repeat problems with for no extra cost to me. The staff at Northeast Automotive replaced the radiator within a day or two, and did so at a very fair price. Staff is very honest and helpful, they even gave me a loaner car to drive to work while they were working on my car. Would highly recommend.

Comment: Northeast Automotive will always have my business. I took my 2008 Impala in for a front end issue. Come to find out, it was a loose tie rod on the passenger side. They replaced both tie rods (as one should do when one tie rod goes out) and they gave me a great price including the front end alignment. While the vehicle was on the lift; a major oil leak issue was noticed. Now, this situation didnt happen out of thin air. Multiple shops had to have seen the issue and said nothing to me. The guys at Northeast Automotive took the time to bring me back and show me the issue. The repair was hefty but had to be done. I had them include some extras and they worked out a very fair price with me. If youre considering repair shops in the Grand Rapids area, look no further! Northeast Automotive will take care of you! Keep up the great work guys and thank you for the repairs!

Comment: My wife and I were hearing some terrible noise coming from the power steering pump when we turned the wheel and assumed we needed a new pump because the reservoir was full. I explained the issue to Cliff and received a quote for $350.00 to replace the pump which was fair. Cliff told me his technician would checkout the problem and let me know what needed to be repaired. To my surprise, Cliff called me the next morning to let me know that I didnt need a power steering pump at all. Cliff said it wound up being a power steering pump hose that was causing the problem and for $50.00 my wifes car was back on the road running great!This was my first experience at Northeast Automotive and I was so impressed with their honesty and prompt service that less than an hour after I picked up my wifes car, I dropped my truck off for shocks and brake service. Kudos to Northeast Automotive for running an honest, affordable, and efficient repair facility. Keep up the good work!

Comment: I normally do not write reviews but I was very impressed with Northeast Automotives integrity and business practices. Here was my experience. After getting what felt like the run around from a few different mechanics I began looking for a mechanic in GR with a good reputation. I read a number of reviews about Northeast Automotive and felt confident in giving them a shot. I started by taking my new (to me) vehicle in for some fixes I had discovered during the inspection I had done at the Toyota dealer before purchasing it. They were able to do the work at a fraction of what Toyota quoted and worked with my schedule while I was away on business.Now heres where I become overly impressed...I took my second car 2001 pt cruiser (i know) into figure out a situation I have been battling for months. I asked for a general inspection. Later that afternoon I received a call from Northeast Automotive letting me know that the ball joint on the left side needed to be replaced. They also informed me of the condition of the brakes and said that they would need to be replaced in the not so distant future. At this news I was a bit disturbed because I had spent well over 500 dollars elsewhere trying to address this issue and had asked countless times about the ball joint. I took the night to decide if I wanted to reach out to one my previous mechanic who swore it wasnt the ball joint. I decided against this and called Northeast first thing in the morning to let them know that I would like to replace the ball joint (in my case the whole control arm on the left side). Somewhere in conversation there was a mix up and it was told to the guys in the shop that I wanted to go ahead with all of the repairs they had informed me of the day before. They fixed the control arm, back break pads, and rotors. Later that afternoon they called to tell me my car was done. When I asked what the price ended up coming to he gave me a number that was a few hundred dollars more than what I expected. Upon hearing this I was a bit confused and the gentleman on the phone asked me what I was expecting. I told him what I had been quoted. At which point he informed me that the breaks had been replace. I explained that I had only intended to repair the control arm at that time. (Normally I do brakes and rotors myself.) Without question he removed the charges for the brakes and rotors. This was a stand-up move on his part. I would have, most likely, payed the charge and never gone back again. This gesture of integrity will keep me coming back as long as I live in GR. The move he made to do the right thing will have me recommending them to others as often as possiable. It is increasingly hard to find businesses who are willing to stand behind a situation like this. I am very greatful for this professionalism and highly recommend Northeast Automotive. CLASSY MOVE!!!

When I called to make the appt they spent a significant amount of time explaining what needed to be done and gave me a best case/worst case scenario based off the dealership diagnosis. When I brought my car in they found the dealership had been wrong and saved me over $800! Very honest and helpful!

Comment: The biggest pain in my life has been finding a mechanic that you can trust and who wont fleece you. Im happy to say Ive finally found one! Weve taken two cars to them, and me being a woman, they explain things to me in a way I can understand but that doesnt make me feel stupid. A huge plus! Comment: Had a head gasket go bad on my lexus. The repair was done with professional craftsmanship and the customer service was A+. They even had a loaner car for me to get to work while they repaired my car. I could not be more satisfied. With a full interior and exterior cleaning (free of charge) I was out the door with a fair price and felt secure that they took the proper time to get the job done to a high standard. Would recommend this to my friends and family as well as to a complete stranger. Hope this review helps!

Comment: Overall, a great experience. The manager, Cliff, offered to come in on Sunday to give me a loaner car while mine was getting fixed. Comment: When my brakes went out, I was pretty bummed. I opted to try Northeast Automotive. The other reviews seemed overwhelmingly positive. I was treated very honestly and respectfully. I received a fair price on repairs. The job was done in a day, and after I was told it was all set, Cliff found a faulty part that he personally ran out to get and install (without charging me for it). Who does that? Apparently Northeast Automotive. Ill be taking my cars there from now on. Thanks again!

Comment: In the past year I had what the dealerships told me were 2 major repairs needed to my veh, both times I took my car to Northeast Automotive to have them look at it and the repairs that needed to be done were hundreds of dollars less than what the dealerships told me, the owner Cliff advised me the repairs the dealers said needed to be done were not as severe as the dealerships said. I will only take my cars to Northeast Automotive from now on, they are very HONEST and do GREAT work.

Comment: Cliff is an honest guy, which is rare in the business he is in. I have lived in Grand Rapids for just over a year, and have been looking for an honest privately owned car repair facility to take care of my vehicles. When my vehicle broke down, I knew exactly what it was, but expected a mechanic to go looking for other problems. He diagnosed and repaired only what needed to be repaired. I found the facility that I will continue to take my vehicles to. He found a way to save me money during the repair with a used part.He reassured me when he said This part is $250 cheaper than from the dealer. I fix every car like it is my own, and I would fix my car this way. It will save you a lot of cash.He is patient with customers, and will take all the time that is needed to explain the vehicles circumstances to the owner. Take your vehicle here, and it will taken care of.

Comment: They were honest, which I have not found about many auto repair shops around the area. They told me what was wrong with my car when I came in. I already knew what was wrong with my car and he fixed my car and sent me on the road in 30 minutes. I have lived and repaired my car in different areas in Chicago (my hometown) and in Grand Rapids, MI, and I must say this place gets 3 thumbs up if there is anything like that.
