Comment: I wanted to write in to support the wonderful employees of your establishment at the Monro Brake & Tire #1218, 1249 W. Columbia Ave. Repair Facility NO. F165476, Battle Creek MI 49015, particularly the store manager Brian Street, who went above and beyond the call of duty when he had very little incentive to for two out-of-town young women, namely my associate and I.We had been on our way from Detroit to Chicago and the alternator on my vehicle died halfway, near Battle Creek. With it looking to be about $800-900 to tow it back, we determined it would be better for us to try and have the vehicle repaired while we were stranded. A local Auto zone who similarly treated us with great kindness, highly recommended the local Monro Auto Service, and Mr. Street as well. He even went so far as to call on our behalf, explained our stressful circumstances and he took us in despite his schedule.Brian was thoughtful, astute, and kind during the entire process, from introduction, to handing the keys back to us. Even when even worse unforeseen repairs had to be made (Both Quickstruts in the front of my vehicle had to be replaced as one had snapped in half and was undriveable), we were not turned away. Additionally as a woman with experience among cars (my father has mechanic experience and would work alongside me of repairs of my own vehicle we could do at home since I was a teenager), it is not uncommon to have mechanics or auto places inflate costs or pressure to add unnecessary work to profit off the ignorance of the unsuspecting. At no moment did I ever encounter such behavior, and everything was shown to us as it was. Prices were comparably fair if not cheaper then I knew some mechanics back home would charge for the same work, and only what was needed to be done to get us back on the road and safely at home was done.I cannot express enough in what would have been truly an awful set of circumstances, how the kindness, honesty, and transparency made what would have been a nightmare tale to groan about in the future, transform into a example of exemplary customer service and human decency to strangers down on their luck.If I lived closer, it would not be a question that they would have a customer for life, and for anyone that I know out there or are traveling through Battle Creek, I will not hesitate to recommend them. Very worrisome situation.Other auto repair centers in town said it would be at least 4 days before they could look at my car. Since I was supposed to leave the next morning, these responses left me wanting to blow up.The manager at Monroe in Battle Creek calmed me right down. He told me to swing by in 90 minutes and they’d take a look. Brian got us right in and had both tires changed in about 20 mins. This was the only chance we had at getting them fixed before morning and their team knocked it out of the park. Comment: Integrity matters. At least a decade ago I took my Vehicle to Tuffy on Capital Ave. Tuffy is no longer in business. They quoted me $800 for an exhaust job even though I told the from the get-go that I thought it was a worn gasket. I then brought it to Monro. I told them the same thing I told the other place without mentioning their diagnosis and price. Monro simply made a $20 repair. All that was needed was a new hanger. Fast forward 15 years later and my son takes his truck to Monro with an electrical problem which can be very hard to find and repair. But the crew at Monro took car of the problem at a fair cost. It means a lot for a parent to know that their kid is treated fairly without having to get involved especially with automotive service! Thanks Battle Creek Monro Crew! You are appreciated.

They found another issue with the rear spindle and we had it replaced too. While it was more than what I originally came in for I was extremely happy with their professionalism and the quality of their work. They were fast too, it would have been a couple hours except they had to order the spindle which took until the next day.I will be recommending them to friends, and especially to fellow Toyota owners.

I realized I was dragging my splash-shield that fell off on one side, so I tied it up and drove to the closest shop: Monro. They immediately took a car off the lift, lifted mine up, and removed the splash shield for me. Although I offered to pay for their labor, they kindly refused. Great guys and a great place!
