Comment: I called for a winter tire switch on a Wednesday and had an appointment for the next day. Other places nearby wont give appointments for winter tire switches and require you to leave the car for most of a day.When booking, I was told it would take an hour. I arrived on time and they took the car right away. It was done in about 55 minutes. I worked using the WiFi in the lobby while waiting. I will definitely return and recommend to others. Thank you.

Attempted makeshift troubleshooting for the issue before even finding the part to help manage issue knowing the dire times. *Cliff the manager is a great dude, honest and sweet. My car was not driveable, it is back to itself running correct w/in 50hrs, and added an oil change for me no problem. Good price, great work, and extremely willing to work hard to satisfy. Comment: After calling another shop that wanted 1 1/2 weeks to get me in, and to keep my car all day, I called Monro about having some specific 80,000 mile checks due for my 2013 Honda Accord. They took me in right away, and while I shopped at the nearby Meijer store, all the checks were done and my car was ready as soon as I returned, roughly an hour. Recommendations were made for some work to do, and I may get it done there. Because its not urgent, Im going to check with a shop near my home, so being without the car would be less inconvenient.

This was after taking it to another mechanic in Ann Arbor that tried to get me to put in over $4,000 worth of repairs on a $2,000 used car. The customer service at Monro was very friendly. They were very honest about what the car would need in order to tow the trailer and got it done for around $800. I would definitely go back!

The store manager, Cliff, is so kind and helpful and I felt zero pressure to buy things I didn’t want. He immediately ordered the tires I needed and had them in by the next day. Although he handled the chaos of managing the front desk while simultaneously replacing my tires remarkably well he definitely needs some backup to take care of the desk so that he can finish the repair jobs a bit quicker. I was in no rush but I imagine that might not be the case for all customers. I absolutely will be back here again when my other car is in need of new tires and an oil change. Not only did they fit me in, but they got the parts needed much faster than I anticipated, and called me about an hour before the work was done to make sure I knew when to expect my car to be ready. Some of the fastest work Ive had done in Ann Arbor, and everyone I talked to on the phone or interacted with when I came to get my car was great! The guy up front even stayed 15 minutes after close so I could get my car the same day, as I had to come from work in Detroit. Highly recommend this place!!

I really won the lottery with these guys! The manager, Jon, and the crew did everything they could to reduce my costs for a very expensive repair (a new exhaust system) and even worked past closing time to get the job done. It was a very scary and stressful day for me, but meeting them was the most positive thing to happen that day, and was the best thing that could have possibly happened. A couple days later I heard my brakes grinding so I took it to Monro for a brake inspection and the entire brake system was shot. The cost of repairs was the same as the value of the vehicle so I ultimately decided not to go through with it. While the original decision to stop in was based on chance, my decision to keep returning has been anything but. Herb, and his crew, have never let me down in my 6 years of working with him. He has given me fair prices and honest assessments that entire time, and the one time I doubted him, I quickly discovered he was in fact the best deal available. Herb and the mechanics there helped me coax a 2001 Intrepid to >210,000 miles before it finally died (would have needed a full engine rebuild and the car wasnt worth it due to other problems (deer damage)) and my wifes 1994 Mustang is still running strong because of them. The first time we went there, he turned us away telling us to go talk to Ford because it was a known issue with that years make, and saved us over $1000, also giving up a $2000 job in the process by being honest. Herb and the others at Speedy Auto have always been straight about what absolutely needs to be done to drive safely versus the kinds of things that should be addressed but arent critical right then.Update: We no longer drive those two cars, but Speedy Auto continues to provide excellent service for my 2000 Buick LeSabre.

Comment: Seriously--are the 1-star reviews on here written by competitive shops? Well I am a REAL person who has been taking my vehicles to Herb for over 7 years. Guy is kind and professional as can be, and the only mechanic in Ann Arbor I trust. I was referred to his shop at my old company--there were about 10 coworkers who lived in this area who only took their cars to Herb when they needed service. Fair pricing, very good work done. Probably a dozen visits for me (I drive 40k miles/year) and fully satisfied each time. Ignore the other reviews, they cannot be legitimate.

Comment: Speedy Auto Services in Ann Arbor is the best shop in the area. It may look just like any other auto shop, but the personal, friendly service is far from ordinary. You will feel comfortable bringing your concerns to Herb and his staff because they dont behave like the stereotypical grease monkeys who rudely throw out names of obscure parts and their high prices. All you have to do is park out front, bring your concerns (and your car keys) to Herb, and he and his crew will take it from there. If you want to wait to hear back about your vehicle, wait in the lounge area or walk right next door to Nicks Original House of Pancakes and enjoy an overpriced omelette. Speedy has the best service, staff, and prices in the area. Period. I take both of my cars to Herb and have no plans of going elsewhere.

Herb/Speedy was recommended to us by my father who also takes his vehicles there.Herb is kind, explains all repairs to us, and always works with our time constraints.If youre looking for a local shop where you are recognized when you walk in and youre always dealing with the same person (Herb), this is the place to go.

Comment: Ive been taking my car to Herb for more than 10 years (he was recommended). When money was tight, Herb let me know which maintenance couldnt wait and what didnt need to be done right away. He went out of his way several times to accommodate my schedule, and is always polite and up front about price and quality. Being a natural skeptic, I checked out the price he quoted me with several other service centers the first few times I took my car to Herb. His quote was always reasonable, if not the lowest, and I have never had any unexpected costs added to the quote. Whatever Herb quoted was what I paid. My car is a 1998 Saturn with 200,000 + miles and still runs beautifully. I highly recommend Speedy on Lohr Circle in Ann Arbor.

People say its hard to find a good mechanic you can trust, Herb and Speedy are up front and as honest as they come. They wont try to up-sell you on anything that isnt important for your vehicle.

Comment: Been taking my cars to Herb at Speedy for years. When I first moved to AA 15 years ago I took my cars to 6 or 7 other places trying to find the right place to get work done and always left with that uneasy am I being taken? feeling.All I was looking for was a straight shooter. I dont mind any bill as long as its legitimate. Then I ran into Herb and Speedy. Ive never left Speedy without the feeling that the work done was necessary and I dont remember ever having to go back to get the same issue fixed twice.I recommend Speedy to anyone who asks. Heck, I get my Mom, who lives in Lansing, to drop her car off at Herbs when shes in town and needs something looked at. That way I know shell be taken care of.

Comment: Ive been getting my oil changes here since 2010, then got a quote for some worn tires on the Rondo. Herb has always been straight about everything to this point, but the quote on the tires was unexpectedly compelling. Especially since the tires he quoted were unavailable at installation, so he gave me the next model up for the same price!. Needless to say Im very pleased with the integrity demonstrated by Herb and his staff at this store. I am recommending this shop based on the trustworthiness demonstrated over time as well as in a pinch!

Comment: Great service, Herb was very helpful. Had to have my struts and shocks replaced, after he found a mount that was bad and replaced it at no cost because it wasnt in the original price quote.
