After an hour and they came back and said it wasnt an alignment that was needed but a front wheel bearing. They also went over the breaks system and determined that I could use so work on the rears. Scott Brown who took care of my car, at the end showed me what needed to be done to the car. I was bot charge a dime for all their help. I would definitely go back there for work . Great service.

Normally I would get the business card/name of someone who demonstrated superior services shower I was rushing to visit my Dad in the hospital while watching my daughter during her day off from school due to the snow. Which is my overarching compliment of my experience at Midas-they showcased compassion when I needed it most and had my oil change conducted in about twenty minutes! We saw the mechanic walking to my truck as we left the building and he was also very kind! It’s refreshing when people are kind for kindness sake. He was very reluctant to apply my coupons and wouldn’t offer a military discount on top of the Midas advertised coupons. Not that it was anything significant, $30 off nearly $800 dollars of work before the coupons were applied. I found this very bizarre, and while I believe they did good work I will not be going back for the shear awkwardness. Total spent, back axle brakes replaced and an oil change for $675.

When I received the report from the technician via text(very handy and easy to see on my phone), I knew that even though the repair would be expensive, I was in good hands because it was quite thorough. Part way through the repair, they needed to add to the repair. They went well above and beyond by working with me on pricing and the repair. The effort they expended making the repairs to my car were beyond my expectations. Comment: 5 Star review alert! I was referred to this mechanic via AAA Authorized Auto Repair. And I brought them quite a unique project that really tested their expertise: a 1976 Chevy Impala! With a custom engine to boot! She needed serious TLC after basically sitting idle for 2 years. Brand new tires all around, a complete overhaul of the brake system (invoice literally said everything but the pedal) transmission shifter linkage, some suspension work, it was quite a job. Got her back after about a month, and ended up finding another minor issue with the shifter. They took her back no sweat, and another couple days waiting for a rare part and my custom Impala was sailing down the Lodge for a quick cruise around town before going back into the garage. My car is safe, street legal, and with full confidence of the workmanship. This was not a simple job at all, I knew what I was getting into, and nearly $10,000 later we have a good running beauty of a classic car thats almost ready for cruising season! I will absolutely be back even though they are across town from me!

Comment: Was in a bit of trouble with a huge gas in one of my work truck tires. Although they didn’t have the exact tire I needed, they recommended going next door to belle tire to purchase tire and bring it to them. Belle tire denied me service because they didn’t want to work on my truck. The guys at Midas hooked me up. I was in and out within 30-40 minutes. Everyone working there were super informative and friendly. Before leaving they made sure I understood the upkeep and future service of the tires. Couldn’t be more thankful for their help!

Comment: Great service at competitive prices. Their tire machine broke, but Grant still made it happened and got all tires installed and the car aligned earlier than expected! Highly recommend. The only issue was the hood not being closed properly and driving south on Orchard Lake Road it pop up just a little bit giving me time to safely park and properly close it, but an oversight like that could be a huge safety issue.

Comment: Just an update: The store owner takes care of customer’s feedback. Thank you for that. The store took some actions to compensate for the problems caused afterwards. So raise it to 4 stars.I normally don’t rate my service providers unless they are really far below expectation. They used a wrong part for my regular engine oil change, which led to a tow truck service while I was driving on the highway during rush hour... I accepted it, as everyone makes mistakes. However their follow-up action to fix their mistake was really disappointing.

Within 5 minutes of sending an appointment request via the Midas website, I got a call to schedule my oil change. They were able to fit me in the same day! I admit, i got a little furious, and left a harsh review, but on the other hand, midas stayed very professional with me and told me to bring the car back in. Comment: This Midas location has excellent service. Now I rarely write reviews but I had to give a shout out to the people at Midas. Any issue my car has had (and there have been many) Scott, Alex, and the rest of the staff there have taken amazing care of me and my car. I’m not super knowledgeable about cars but I do my research when I have issues (including receiving estimates from at least three mechanics across the region). Every time, Midas has provided me with high quality service and parts, as well as the lowest costs in the area. I really wish I connected with them years ago! They work with you on pricing when possible and are people that I trust to not take advantage of me, which has always been a key concern of mine when locating a “good” mechanic. Can’t tell you how much I saved with these folks (actually I could, but I’m just not gonna tell you :)

Dropped my car off for brakes which ended up being exactly what they originally estimated. Grant ran the shuttle service that dropped me off at my house, so that I didnt have to wait, and then picked me up when the car was done. They wrapped up the job in a couple of hours and I was on my way! Late Saturday afternoon, near closing time, she stopped at the West Bloomfield Midas to see if the noise and vibration she felt was serious. It was a safety issue and recognizing the circumstances the mechanics at West Bloomfield took care of the immediate repair and advised my daughter of follow-up needed when she returned home. Recognizing that they were dealing with a single Mom, traveling with children, at an emotional time, the mechanic simply said, there will be no charge for this, and have a safe trip home. I do not know how you could have better customer service than this.

Comment: I had a great experience here at Midas, I came in for a synthetic oil change at 4 pm which is 2 hours before closing time, at first they had told me that they were pretty much booked for the day, until Pete spoke with the owner Alex and they bumped me in! They got me in and got the full synthetic oil change for half of the cost of the dealer! Great customer service, free wifi, coffee and even a phone charger! They definitely went above and beyond for me, also decided to get my breaks checked out and they got the breaks changed that same day! Out by 6 with new breaks, roaters and an oil change! They seriously go the extra (5) miles for you (literally... one of them ran me back to my place to get my wheel lock which I didnt have in my car when I rolled in there with a flat. Other service industries should take a lesson from these guys. And they dont try to upsell you... they actually look for ways to save you money! What i like best is, that they let me bring in customer parts, as a project became to complicated for me, they finished the job for me. Alex does a great job in customer service, excellent communication.I was impressed, when the 1986 Mercedes 560 SL was sitting 3 month at an German imports specialized workshop and they couldnt get the engine started... it took Jake 3 days and it runs better than my other cars. Comment: My family recently moved to West Bloomfield from Arizona. We had a mechanic wed used and trusted for over 10 years back in AZ, so the idea of looking for a new one was rather daunting. I researched and poured over reviews for service shops in the area and the Midas on Maple seemed to be heads and shoulders above everybody else, so I gave them a call.After suffering a flat tire over the weekend, I spoke to Alex first thing on a Monday morning. He was not only personable, but was very actionable as well. Not 15 minutes later I was standing in the lobby handing him the keys. He was extremely professional and a pleasure to speak with. They not only fixed my tire, but after a free inspection, pointed out some repairs my wifes car needed prior to the upcoming winter weather. Of course I would expect a service shop to do this. However, there was no pressure, a detailed explanation of why the repairs would be necessary, and options on how I could proceed (if I chose to) - all without making me feel like the world was ending today for both my car and my bank account. I could see the wear he was talking about because he put the car up in the rack and took the time to personally show me. No tricks or hidden agendas.They repaired my tire and had the car out of the shop in under an hour. Price was beyond reasonable, the service was even better than expected, and Im relieved to have a mechanic I can trust again. Ill definitely be back. Alex even called me a few days later to make sure the tire was holding and I was satisfied with their service. Customer service at its absolute very best. Comment: I have nothing but great things to say about this shop after my experience here and would recommend them to anyone I know. Originally I took my 2009 Subaru Outback here to get a power steering pump replaced and a fluid flush. Upon taking a better look at my car they found my power steering pump was actually working fine and it was just a loose belt tensioner that needed to be tightened up which they fixed for FREE! Since I also needed to get both CV boots replaced on my car anyway, they were able to replace the entire axel in the same day along with clamping down a loose heat shield that made the most awful rattling sound for way cheaper than I was quoted anywhere else and it worked! My car is rattle-free for the first time since I bought it. All in all I spent way less than what I was planning to, got more repairs done at once, had my car back the same day and appreciated their prompt service and honest attitude. Ive been to many dealerships, collision shops, and the like - and Ive never had better service than at Midas. Everyone I met here was very nice and the end report they gave me indicated they did a thorough inspection of my car and gave some helpful feedback on what should be tended to next which I appreciated a lot. They also cleaned my car up nice and since then my car has never run better. Comment: This was my first trip to Midas on w Maple but not my last. I called ahead for an oil change and they got me right in. They gave my vehicle a full inspection and alerted me of the few things that were wrong or recommended. They showed me actual video of what they saw and then offered to fix without making me feel pressured. Very trust worry and professional!!! Would recommend this place over any other I have ever been to!!!

Comment: My car was experiencing a sqeeking while braking and I brought my car in to have Midas take a look. The technician, Adam, came into the waiting room and invited me to take a look at my cars brakes. He said your brakes look good and went on to show me the various things he looks at in brake inspections. He said the squeek in my case was not a safety issue at all. The inspection cost me nothing and I drove away with a great sense of relief that my wifes car was safe. Alex and his crew are honest and conscientious.

Comment: Excellent team! Alex and his crew are a pleasure to do business with. Treat customers fairly, do a thorough job, and zero surprise charges / pushed services.Very customer oriented. They will even provide courtesy rides home or pick you up for service. Alex even charged/tested a battery for me overnight at no extra charge.These guys are a great group of professionals and were very deserving of my business!

Comment: I will never go anywhere else. From my oil changes, to brakes, to exhaust, to fixing my suspension so my Chrysler 300 rides nicely. Amazing.Their prices are competitive. Sure, they may be a few dollars higher than a mom and pop, but their service and warranty I so worth it.Lifetime warranty on brake pads. You cant find that at a mom and pop. And they also out the original equipment material on.They dont just source their parts from autozone or an advanced auto down the street. They order parts from quality specialty places.My gf he got a serpentine belt replaced at Belle tire for her BMW. The belt never fit properly and it fell off. We took it to Midas, and they saw right away that the belt didnt fit. They ordered A German made belt, which cost more, but fit right.

Comment: After suspecting my previous mechanic of price gauging, I decided to take a leap of faith with a close-by Midas on Maple and Orchard Lake. Easily one of the best decisions Ive made for my car.The place recently transferred ownership to a fellow named Alex. I can honestly say that Ive never met anyone at an auto-tech center that cared so much about each customer. I was hearing a grinding sound from my vehicle which they diagnosed. However, after being serviced (it was a caused by a faulty bearing), I still heard the noise. I talked to Alex about it and he had me come in and replaced the bearing again at no cost (the bearing was faulty). The sound greatly improved but was still there. After discussing the issue with him further, he noticed that it may have been caused by the fact that I was missing a back plate on one of the breaks. He proceeded to order the part and replaced it at no cost. My car now runs flawlessly and I couldnt be happier.Throughout the entire process, Alex and his primary sales associate, Dwane, called me and informed me of the progress of my vehicle. Not once did I suspect the two were hiking the prices or discovering frivolous but sinister sounding issues to repair. Whenver they mentioned a problem, Alex or Dwane would take me out to my car and physically show me precisely what they were discussing. Whenever my car needs to be serviced again, I will absolutely return it to this specific Midas (though the Southfield location is actually closer). Alex and Dwane are fantastic, caring, and extremely professional sales people/ mechanics.I will highly recommend these folks to any and all of my friends. The only thing these guys can make run better than your car is your dollar.

Comment: FANTASTIC! I have had a tremendous experience at Midas West Bloomfield. Alex and his team put quality work and customer service as top priority. In my first trip in I was having them look into why my car was having pulsation while I was breaking, they gave me such a good deal that I now have all of my work (oil change, tire rotations, etc) done with them. They will also offer you a ride if you need to be somewhere within the area so you dont have to wait. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Comment: I hate taking my car in for oil changes because usually they upcharge me for random things, I get full synthetic oil because I have a Toyota thats getting high in miles. At Midas they were friendly and fast! I had an oil change, courtesy check and tire rotation for cheaper than Ive ever had and my car is running great again. Ill go to Midas on Maple every time!

Comment: Came in for inspection of my steering linkage and everything checked out fine. Discovered rear brakes was needed, decided to do it while I was there. Oil change too.Good store with knowledgeable staff and mechanics.
