The prices are a little on the high side, but the care and concern provided is worth every cent. I will definitely keep using this McNeals for my auto repair services needed, and would recommend if youre looking for a trustworthy and dependable car repair shop. Comment: %100 positive experience.. I brought them a 2016 Durango that had been poorly repaired after front end collision for an out headlight and engine codes. The Technician Will took lots of pics when taking apart to show me what was going on ordered and picked up supports I needed by the end of day. He even stayed after to make sure I got back on road for the weekend. Told me to pick up a sensor and he would install free after I got it. He even installed the fog lights I brought him with the sensor when I came back. Truly felt like he cared about my Truck.

I did and the gentleman at the counter explained he would be with me after cleaning the garage floor. Im thinking the mechanic is cleaning the floor? Well, Will came out looked at my problem and immediately pulled my vehicle in the garage. He worked on my vehicle nonstop, with me the only distraction, until the problem was solved. The charge was fair. I felt blessed by his service and courtesy. It turns out Will is the owner of the business.

Comment: Originally went in because the license plate bolts had rusted and broke off. I had tried everything I could to get the bolts out but was unable. They fixed that and I asked them to look it over (because the car was new to me) and give me an estimate of needed repairs. They did the diagnostics as a courtesy and provided me with a detailed estimate of cost. They let me know which repairs were of safety concern and which ones could be put off, if need be. I took the car in the next morning and had brakes and rotors done. Ended up taking off back the following day and had the ignition cool replaced and oil change. They offer a shuttle service which is a plus. The work is guaranteed and they are honest about the needed work. All-in-all, it was a great experience and I appreciate them.

I got my car fixed here after a car accident and I told them on the phone things that needed to be fixed. They told me they would do a inspection (which I think they did a terrible job). Things I asked for never got looked at. After that first inspection they do another inspection and gave me a whole new price. For example , I told them I needed a oil change because I needed one beforehand and totally missed that part. My radiator hose wasn’t put back on properly. If I didn’t have my step dad check it could of mess my ENGINE up! I would never recommend anyone to go here. Run from this place!!! They did a lazy job for me to have to pay over 1000 for my car.

Comment: Brought my 2003 Silverado (over 350,000 miles) in for a “reduced power mode” condition. Shop replaced a couple ground wires. The next day same thing happened this time also with a check engine light so brought it back. Shop replaced the whole throttle body unit which was the correct fixed and I wasn’t charged a second diagnostic fee. As of now, so far so good! Thanks to Ray and the crew here!! Then when I went back they diagnosed my brakes with only 30 minutes until close on a Friday. They ordered the parts and they got there in 15 minutes. Thats faster than Amazon! They put the brakes on and got it done before the weekend. They even showed me wear patterns on my rotors and explained how I can drive to make my brake pads last longer. The price was excellent too. Comment: I Needed some break work done on my car but Icould not drop my car off to some shop overnight as Istill had to get to work until I could get some one to look at it. I live in the detoit area and work in the pontiac area passing by Mcneals daily decided to stop in for quote, so glad I did these guys are very professional from Myles shop manager to Ray auto mechanic. Because of the need to have my car for work and not leave it overnight, Myles suggested inspecting breaks on one day and repairing problem the next day so that I would not be without my vehichle to long. Long story short after the inspection they were able to fix brakes in less than two hours. Very pleased with these guys will definatley use them again. Oh yea the price was right no up charges here.

Comment: Wonderful shop! Myles is very nice. Will is an amazing technician. Very thorough. Very friendly.My personal story: I am a bit of an advanced guy. Often Ill do my own work. (Brakes, serpentine+idler, spark plugs, oil.) But, when it came to A/C compressor replacement, I knew I did not have the specialized tools to deal with a pressurized system and check for leaks afterwards. I wanted a great shop.I asked colleagues and looked online, then I called a few places. Everyone was booked solid for 2+ weeks. Michigan summers + roads are brutal. When I called McNeal, I talked to Myles. He said, given my history: What if we evacuate it, let you swap your components, and you bring it back for recharge? Would you be interested in that? We could do that right away if you could bring it in 1st thing in morning. It was perfect for me! (Saved me money, and got my car COLD again faster than any other option too!)(Note: I STRONGLY advise caution. Most not ready to do their own swap. Many places I could have gone wrong. Scratching fittings changing orings. Not doing oil level right. Incorrect torques. Not replacing orings. Not knowing what to do when alternator didnt want to come out. So many things... so please... unless you have your factory service manuals and/or extensive experience, do NOT try to service yourself like me. YouTube does NOT count.)Happy ending detail: Will was VERY thorough. After vacuum and refill... Found a small SMALL leak with the electronic sniffing (a tool I have no reason to own myself) leak detector. Location: condenser high pressure port. Not quite tight enough. Will cinched it down just a little bit, cleaned off with some brake clean. Re-checked. No leak. Then a test drive to check temperature. All set! Super cold. Good to go!Great shop all around. Very busy as a result. Call ahead / plan ahead, if you can. However, they try to do what they can to fit you in. :-)

Had a lot of electrical problems suddenly pop up in my 07 Pontiac G5; speedometer not working, clicking sound, doors unlocking and locking when accelerating. Drove it up, waited a day and a half, come to find out it was a ground line that broke off the transmission. They replaced it and charged nothing extra even though it took a while to find the wire, and just like that the car was running like it was before, and it only costed the very generous $70 diagnostics fee. Shuttle was also speedy, friendly and sociable. Excellent service, would highly recommend to others.

Comment: Spent a full day trying to remove the screws from my front rotors but was unsuccessful. With only a hour before they closed I call McNeal Automotive to see about setting up a appointment for help replacing my front brakes. Mike answered the phone and had me come in that same day before they closed. The staff did a amazing job and had my front brakes replaced within a hour. There master mechanic even took the time to help educate me on the best way of removing them and gave me other tips and tricks when replacing brakes. One of the most helpful, professional, and clean auto shops Ive been to. Will definitely be using them for future work.

Comment: My vehicle was having trouble with the starter. Took it into McNeal and they repaired the portion of the system they believed was faulty and guaranteed the problem was fixed. Unfortunately the problem persisted. Took it in to McNeal again, turns out the whole system needed to be replaced. They didnt charge me a single dime this time and absorbed the additional repair cost because they told me it was fixed the first time around. Great service. Great team.

Comment: I was having issues with my buick. McNeal Automotive is relatively close to my work and I had driven by a few times. I had already had the problem diagnosed. A relative from out of state works as a mechanic for a buick dealership and knew exactly what the issue was with my year/model and about what it should cost to have it repaired. I tend to like to test people in these situations to see if they are honest or not so I brought it in and played dumb. I was expecting the usual dog and pony show where they would try to sell me on having something done with everything under the hood, but was pleasantly surprised when they told me the exact issue I had been having. There wasnt any up sell. They didnt tell me I should look into having this or that done. They were very straightforward and honest. I was even further surprised when they told me the price I was looking at. It was a bit under what I was expecting. I havent had any further issues as of yet with my car, but when I do, I wont hesitate to bring it back to McNeal Automotive. I have since told some friends and family the same.

Comment: I first went to McNeal Automotive... back in Id say 2013. I was recommended by a friend. Being a woman, I find it extremely hard to find good, honest, trustworthy shops to take my vehicle to. Most men like to take advantage of women, because a lot of women dont know squat about cars.When I first arrived, I was trying to explain to the service man at the desk what was going on with my truck. A certified technician told me to get in the truck and lets go for a ride. Never in my life have I taken my vehicle to the shop and ever once been offered this. We drove about 2 blocks down Columbia and I told him exactly when the noise started. He knew exactly what it was. He explained to me that you should never take your vehicle to a shop and explain what a noise sounds like. Ultimately, anyone would be playing a guessing game, and may fix parts on your car that really dont need to be fixed.The price was extremely good. They even went as far as to fix all my tail lights that were out, because they were concerned for my safety. Needless to say three years later I have never taken my vehicles to any other repair shop. In fact, anyone who ever asks me to recommend a shop.... my answer is always McNeals. They truly go above and beyond for their customers. They will even take you home and pick you up, so you dont have to find a ride, or sit there while they work on your vehicle.Since then I have a new vehicle. This past summer my air conditioner went out, and I needed two front control arms. I had recently went to Belle Tire, they are who I always get my tires from. They initially told me that I needed the repairs, and gave me a price. I told them that I wasnt going to be able to pay for the repairs at the time, got the print out... and made my way to McNeals the next morning. They even did such a good job on my vehicle that I made the staff two batches of cookies, from scratch. :)McNeals Automotive is trustworthy, reasonable, and they truly care about their customers. Comment: I live north of Flint, MI and drive to Pontiac daily for work and I drive about 130 miles a day round trip in my commute. My 92 Olds started having major performance problems when I was just a few miles away from work. Alvin and his crew are great, they were very busy but got my car in and fixed on the same day so I could drive home and not have to hitch a ride from co workers or get a rental car. They were professional, courteous and spot on in their dianosis of the problem. They came in on the estimated price and car was ready when they promised. The Olds hasnt driven this great in years! Comment: Ive been here a few times for various car issues, and have always been impressed. I dont know much about cars but the staff here always did there best to explain the issues to me and even show me on my vehicle what was wrong a where. One time I went in for an issue I thought I had and it turns out all I needed was new tires (which they dont sell), but they didnt try and charge me for any work or push anything on me that I didnt mean (though they did recommend and alignment, which I will go back for!) They are also very, very quick. Often times they have been able to look at my car within an hour or two of me dropping it off, and the repairs have always taken less than a day (for the few repairs I have had to have done)Overall, I would highly recommend this McNeal Automotive if you need any car repairs done, prices seem fair (although my experience is limited) and Ive always had a good experience.

Comment: McNeal auto repair shop in Pontiac towed my car on their flatbed tow truck. The driver was courteous and my Jaguar was well cared for. They replaced the starter for hundreds less than the dealership quoted. I recommend McNeal to everyone I can.
