He was very detailed with explaining to me the process of a Volvo and he had to take the entire dash board apart to get the broken key fob out of the ignition. Got my car towed there after hours and it was safe there all night. The next day they replaced my alternator for a fair price and had it ready for me quickly.After picking it up, a few days later, the car wouldn’t start again. Honestly, I was livid, but when I called Maurice, again he was very courteous and informed me that the battery itself might also need to be replaced. Maurice told me to “just come on down and I’ll take care of you as a top priority”. Brought my truck back, and as promised, Maurice got me in right away and replaced the battery quickly.I am normally weary of repair shops because I feel like many of them can’t be trusted. Maurice’s Hi-Tech Automotive, has reminded me that there are still some good shops out here. I’ll DEFINITELY come back (if needed 😩) and would refer Maurice to anyone! Thanks guys...🙏🏾

Comment: I used to get my repairs done here years ago when it was known as Shepards Hi-Tech Automotive Services. Then I bought a new car, in 2002, and started taking it to a dealer for repair. The dealer was doing a good job so I just kept going there and eventually I forgot about this place. At first the dealer would have my repairs done the same or the next day. Then about 4 years ago they started to keep my car for days while making minor repairs. The last straw for me was when they took two weeks to put in a new fuel pump. So I asked my family members did they know of any good auto repair shops and a sister said with enthusiasm go to Maurices auto shop, you know the one that used to be called Shepards. So now I am back where I used to go before I bought a new car and started going to the dealer. Ive been back twice. First was last November when I had to have a tune-up done.Then this week I needed a complete brake job front and back and my ac compressor needed repair. I am completely satisfied with the work done and the time it took for repairs. I heartily recommend Maurices to anyone whos looking for a good place to get their vehicle repaired.

Comment: I am from out of state and drive a classic car. When I was in MI for work and my car broke down I was very skeptical about who to take her to for repairs. After reading the reviews I went to Maurices and am very pleased I did. He and his tech Greg (I hope I am remembering the name correctly) completely replaced my distributor assembly with module and re-timed her to near perfection in 2 days! The bill was also very fair, even a little less than I had expected. They were very easy to talk to about the repairs and very professional. They even flipped my floor mat over so as not to get any grease or muck from their shoes on my carpet. I felt they respected my car as much as I did; that is not easy to find. Long story short, my car went in broken and came out running better than ever in a reasonable time frame and for a fair price.

He looked over my Toyota Camry (which I recently purchased ) and assed what needed to be done and seemed genuinely concerned with my car. I informed him I know I needed new brakes and I had a check engine light that I wanted investigated . He instantly gave me a estimate and told me hed have my car done in about a hour and a half or two. After leaving him with the keys he directed me to a nice chicken and waffle spot down the street that was actually right accross the street from my work Parking garage ! . When I first walked in I was greeted by who I believe is a manager or owner. He was extremely professional, kind and had amazing people skills. I was nervous because Im a young female and you know, we get a lot of warnings to always bring a guy with us or somebody who knows about cars so that were not ripped off. But not here :) He walked me through everything that was going to be done and charged a reasonable price for the services. The guy at the counter was also very helpful and kind. Comment: Maurice is the best mechanic and probably the best person in Detroit!Heres why:I drove into Detroit from Lansing on a Friday with my family, for an afternoon at the DIA. We were leaving at about 5:20 pm, when my car started hemorrhaging radiator fluid. We drove to the nearby Chevy dealership who couldnt do anything until Monday. They confidently sent me to Maurice, right down the street. He started calling for the part immediately and told me he could have it my car fixed by Saturday. By then, it was about 5:50. Enterprise, which was about 1 mile away, had cars available but couldnt pick us up because it was too close to closing. Though I had only known him for about 15 minutes, Maurice dropped everything and gave me a ride to Enterprise to get a car; he even turned on his TV for my two little kids who were exhausted and getting fussy. The next day my car was done just as he had told me and the he charged me almost exactly what he had quoted me up front.We were luck to find Maurice and he earned a customer for life, even if it means driving all the way to the D!

I went in and saw him, and he set me up with a towing company that also gave me a fair price to get my car from where it had broken down to his shop. He had the starter replacement done in a single day (I knew from looking online that this was a difficult repair, which is why I didnt attempt it on my own) and I was very impressed! Comment: I was extremely impressed with Maurices service. I went to Maurices when my engine started overheating about 1 mile into my road trip to New Orleans. I went to Maurices about 4 PM on a Friday afternoon and I needed to be in Nashville by Sunday morning.I had a bad gasket and was leaking coolant all over the place. Maurice gave me a fair price of $1000 ($1500 was what my sister paid previously for identical repair on her Buick). Maurice stayed late and had my car ready by about 11AM the next morning. I drove 2600 miles over the next week without any issues. I will definitely be bringing my business to Maurice in the future.
