Comment: Wish I could add a 6TH STAR! I had a couple pre-purchase inspections done by Main Street Motors, both of which were very informative. They definitely went ABOVE AND BEYOND. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for any PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION!The first inspection revealed a bad purchase, the second, a good deal, yet with a few necessary repairs. If we purchased neither car, they wouldve given us a THIRD INSPECTION FREE!Further yet, after our first inspection, Eric gave my wife and me RECOMMENDATIONS as to reliable used cars to purchase and which dealers he recommended, as well as which ones to avoid. His advice lead us to our second car we got inspected by them (and eventually purchased). After Chris finished the inspection, he brought me into the shop and SHOWED ME everything while the vehicle was still on the lift, providing me with more than words and terms; I could see everything while he explained to me the issues and why they were issues. Afterward, Eric LEAD ME THROUGH how much every issue would cost and how to talk down the purchase price with the seller on account of the various issues. He EVEN CALLED a previous mechanic who worked on the vehicle, in order to verify for me something the owner claimed got replaced.Main Street Motors inspections lead my wife and me toward AN EDUCATED PURCHASE, along with helpful information about the maintenance and repairs of such a purchase. And they NEVER ONCE PUSHED THEIR OWN AGENDA onto us; they merely gave us the facts and their recommendation, ALWAYS KEEPING OUR BEST INTEREST in mind!

The day before I planned to drive across the country, my car started making suspicious sounds. I came in real worried around noon, told them my situation, and they were able to inspect it within a few hours. They called me saying it was an easy fix and got my car all done before the end of the day. Lifesavers! Super honest shop and very good at listening to NON car people describe car problems.

But I know that, on more than one occasion, Ive had a dealer or other shop tell me we needed an expensive repair, only to have them tell me the diagnosis was wrong (in some cases, because we didnt need a repair at all) or the price we were being quoted for the repair was too high. So they have literally saved us money. They are friendly, responsive, and transparent about what they do, and what they fix stays fixed. I.e, they do very good work.

Comment: I was hesitant coming in since Ive always worked on cars myself or with family help but as soon as I came in I felt like I was at home. The guy who helped me knew exactly what he was talking about and was able to diagnose exactly what was wrong within a very short amount of time. He then gave me a price quote on the cost of parts and labor and stuck to it, even changing out a sensor for free since it wasnt part of the agreed upon price or problem that I was there for. Worried, I headed straight to the first mechanic place I could find. Passing by Main Street Motors everyday, I knew exactly where to go.Once I got there, not only did I notice that the Open sign was turned off, but I also observed a nice young man, Bryan, helping a woman with her car. Bryan enthusiastically said that he could help me even though its after-hours. Despite being obviously busy, he found time for me, jacked-up my car, took my front wheel off, and discovered that the problem was, in fact, only a small pebble that was trapped in my wheel. While my cars issue was a small and easy fix, I still offered to pay. Bryan flat-out refused.Thanks again Bryan and Main Street Motors. I highly recommend them.

A week later one of my caliper bolts sheared on the same wheel and he fixed it for free even though it was most likely unrelated to his work. I always hope that Im getting the right level of service without being charged for a bunch of unnecessary work, and as a result, I never know how much I will end up paying. Ive never found a repair shop I trusted. Until now.After my trip to Main Street Motors today, I doubt Ill be taking Blue Thunder, my 2008 Honda Civic, to any other shop. Brian and Bryan were both friendly, knowledgeable, and didnt try to nickel and dime me. MSM turned an appointment I was dreading into the highlight of my morning. Not having a good mechanic feels a bit like not having health insurance: you keep ignoring the myriad little things that might be wrong for fear of how much it might cost to have them looked at. Then the big one happens and you shell out, when it could have been avoided (or at least mitigated) with periodic preventative maintenance.Knowing that Main Street Motors is there to provide their expertise in a friendly way without trying to nickel and dime me takes a weight off my shoulders I didnt even know was there. The next time I need some work done on the car or get nervous about the rattling sound coming from under the hood, I know exactly where to go, and that peace of mind is priceless.

Comment: I had a great experience with Main St Motors. I got the inside and outside detailing service which took my 5-year-old car from looking as if I lived in it to ready for resale. They were pleasant, helpful, and efficient, not to mention convenient. Even making a last-minute appointment just before the winter holidays, I was able to get in within a week. They offered shuttle service to and from my work and were done with my car on time. The detail-oriented work is phenomenal -- even the smallest nooks and crannies are clean, the seats no longer have stains from the many meals eaten (and spilled) while on the road, the windshield is cleaner than when I bought the car, and even the engine is sparkling. Shortly thereafter I had another minor problem with one of my tires and decided to call Main Street Motors. They are very close to where I work, so the convenience factor was high and I had heard they were rated well by other locals. My experience with them was great. They were very trustworthy, respectful, and went the extra mile to make sure they addressed the problem. In the end, they discovered the issue, fixed it, and didnt even charge me. I will go back again--because I got a great feeling along with great service.

I had them fix the A/C (which was a special they were running), and replace all four brakes + rotors. They also did an oil change, and now my minivan is running great! I delivered it on a Thursday afternoon, and they had it finished early on Monday morning. Would let them work on my car again.
