Comment: I have never had such outstanding service as I had at MSA ... on many occasions. All their employees are very knowledgeable on ANY automotive repair and committed to the customer (oil change to engine rebuild). Every issue I had MSA discussed the problem, the repair required, the part replacement brands with their costs and their recommendation to complete the repair. Typical auto repair shops never take this kind of time with the customer BEFORE the repair is made. Typically the customer just receives a total cost for the repair. MSA has even picked my vehicle from my home for a repair when I was unable to drive myself. I am a loyal customer for life. The MSA has a very big reputation in this area. Bring patients to schedule your repair.

This was after bringing a battery out to my campsite. I work 60 hours a week and this was my one week off and I got to enjoy a couple of days of it thanks to Main Street auto!!

We got to an auto parts store right before they closed and got a ODB scan that showed misfire on Cyl#2 but they didnt have an Ignition Coil in stock. Limped it to the park and called Brian the next morning. He was able to get us in the next day and had pre-ordered an Ignition Coil and Spark Plugs. Only needed the coil and the service was reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Took my truck in to diagnose and recieved a call about an hour later stating the issues and what it would take to get it done. We received truck the next morning, which they delivered to the campground. Hands down best place to go if you need work and are in that area. Comment: This place is great. Brian and his crew seem really top notch. Traveling through from out of state, I swung by at 4:30 p.m. on a Thursday with a nail in my tire. Other places wanted $40 and an hour or more to fix my tire (patch only). Brian told me to pull up to the bay - his guy fixed it with a plug (right on the vehicle) in 10 minutes for $20. Im back home in Texas and the tire did great.

Brian and Corey from Main Street Automotive were extremely professional, helpful and empathetic - they worked to find the brake parts needed for our Acadia and had us running again by about 4:30pm that afternoon. Comment: While on vacation about 1,500 miles from home (St. Pete Florida) our trucks dummy light popped up and our engine started running on only 7 cylinders. We crawled back to our camp site (Mill Creek Campground) and called Brian at Mainstreet Auto here in Mackinaw City. Unfortunately it was the start of Memorial Day weekend and we had to wait 3 days until they opened to have our truck towed to Mainstreet Auto. We were supposed to move on to the the next leg of our trip the day we broke down, so while waiting, we had to cancel other stops along the trip. Brian understanding of our situation moved us up a couple of spots on the repair order, diagnosed the problem (ignition coil), spotted a looming problem with a starting to go radiator. We had to wait another couple of days to get a radiator for our 2000 Tundra so Brian and his men repaired the ignition coil and (delivered) the truck back to us so that we could use it to have fun a couple of days while waiting for the radiator and then once again came and picked up the truck, fixed the radiator, and brought it back out to us knowing that we were stranded at a campground with no other transportation.Thank you so much Brian and all the guys at Mainstreet Auto in Mackinaw City, MI for salvaging our vacation!

Comment: I was 75 miles in on a 1000 mile journey, got off at Mackinaw exit for gas. When I stepped on the brake, a line or connection bursts and I had nothing, moving into oncoming traffic with no way to stop. I limped my truck to Main Street and they were just AWESOME. The guys took care of the problem (a connection gave way to rust). They replaced the line and had my back on the road in no time. They also did an inspection and found a loose wheel hub they tightened. The pricing was incredibly reasonable as well! I cant recommend this place enough. After a couple days, the owner called to make sure I made my trip safely! THAT kind of customer service (and actual caring) is RARE! I hope if you are ever in need of auto repair, you are blessed enough to find this place as I was!

Corey and his coworker dropped what they were doing, found a suitable replacement tire and mounted it, and also replaced three other valve stems that we found were leaking. They had me back on the road in less than 1.5 hours and I was able to get to my destination without any more drama. To top it off, the fee they charged for the work was super reasonable. A++ service. Comment: We hit a deer while vacationing in the area. The collision cracked the radiator and caused it to leak. Brian’s work schedule prohibited him from starting on the repair for three days including the weekend. We didn’t have a room to stay in while the car got repaired and had 100 pound Rottweiler with us so we were in a bad situation. Brian called his other two shops and got the schedule in the Indian River location re-arranged to get work started right away. He helped in getting the car transported from the Mackinaw City location to Indian River and back after it was repaired. The car was an overnight repair and we were on the road Friday morning and made it home 8 hour later with no problems.Brian kept a bad situation from being a total disaster. He went far and above what would be expected from someone in his position. I cannot say enough good things about him and his staff in Indian Rivers. He should definitely be your first choice when your car needs service .

I am glad I did not go there, I went to Kreguer! The man behind the counter was down to earth good man! I told him what was going on and by the time he said lets go take a look ,He said I see the nail and had the jack under the car and had the tire off and had the nail out in a matter of 5 minutes ,In a matter of 20 min we were back on the road! All heroes dont wear capes they uses wrenches and tools,Hands down best service ever!

So glad we found this place online and decided to go with it based on the reviews. We walked around Mackinaw and shopped. Comment: Our engine light started flashing on vacation. We hobbled into Krueger’s. We thought we got some bad gas at our last fill-up. The owner took the car for a quick test ride and scanned our car’s computer which revealed misfires on two cylinders. He pulled and checked the spark plugs and the coils and put it back together. The car ran like new. He cleared codes and charged us a very reasonable fee for his time and expertise. He easily could have justified a new set of plugs and coils. Upshot: we got out the door for less than $100 instead of several hundred.

I was desperate to get back home safely and at the same time concerned about being taken advantage of by an “unknown mechanic.” I read the other reviews and decided to give this place a try. I’m so glad that I did! The mechanic was very thorough and clearly knew what he was doing. I really appreciated that he made sure that I understood what the issue was and what he was going to do to repair it. The fix didn’t end up being as significant as I was anticipated and it runs great now! Additionally I literally ended up only having to pay $40...I was pleasantly surprised! I was so thankful for his integrity and service! We vacation in Mackinaw frequently and now I know of an amazing place to take my car if I ever need repairs around here again.

This was a serious concern for two single women heading north across the magnificent bridge and on to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. We found Krueger’s website and from there, the location. VERY friendly FREE service, checking and adjusting tire pressure and giving assurance the warning light was likely due to the cool temperature, not tire damage. We had no further problem as we continued north and later returned to FL.

Looked up Kruegers in a Google search........and Im so glad I did.Ends up my water pump blew out. For under $300, he fixed everything, and we were back on the road Monday, July 9th. We spent the day on the island, paid for the repairs over the phone on the island, and we were driving that evening!My daughter is very sickly and has a prosthetic leg.........she was so happy to get into a running vehicle again! On a Sunday heading out for the first day of an extended road trip out west and back the serpentine belt on our Jeep Compass shredded and gave up the ghost just south of Mackinaw City. Managed to get off the highway and had the vehicle towed to Kruegers, then got a motel room. At 8 AM Monday morning we were at the door at Kruegers, explaining the situation. A little after 9 they called us to say that only the belt had failed, that it had been replaced, the car was being buttoned up and would be ready in 15 minutes. We were back on the road by 10 AM after paying a very reasonable repair bill. Great service, honest work and very reasonable charges. Highly recommended.

Wasnt sure if it had went all the way through but was worried about it as we are pulling a 31 foot travel trailer, we were going over the bridge & didnt want to take any chances. We pulled up my husband went in he spoke to Jerry who had him pull it right up by the garage door. He checked it out went in the garage came back with a pair of pliers pulled the screw out put something on it to check for a leak. There was no leak told us it was our lucky day & to have a good one. Eric had no idea of my background when my van had a serious engine problem. Eric provided truthful, creative, and wise advice. Comment: My wife and I were visiting Mackinaw when four of the five studs on a front wheel sheared off while pulling into the hotel parking lot. I called Kruegers at about 4:30 pm on Friday and was told that if I got the car to the shop by the morning, he would come in on his day off to look at it. He first tried to replace the studs, but he was sent the wrong ones and they didnt fit. He tried using the studs from the wheel bearing assembly, but they were too small as well. He tried what he could to save me money, but in the end had to replace the bearing assembly. He had it done right quick and didnt see anything that would indicate some other problem that would cause the studs to break. Lugs may have been tightened too much. Very friendly and I was very appreciative that they helped me out on their day off!! Highly recommend!

Comment: We had a broken serpentine belt on our way to a state park and one of the park workers recommended a towing service along with Kruegers Auto Service. The tow truck dropped it off after they closed for the day but Eric was able to look at in the morning.He was concerned due to the fact that the belt did not seem worn but he couldnt find anything that was binding or that might have caused the sudden failure. He did have some difficulty getting a replacement belt but we had an extra car and he had the belt the next morning and installed it promptly. He did a good job and never tried to sell us anything else. The total cost was in line with what I found looking online for similar work.I certainly hope I wont have a similar problem on our next vacation, but if I do, Id consider myself lucky to find a place like Kruegers to help us out.

After describing the problem, he told me what he believed was causing the problem. The next morning, I dropped my vehicle off and he fixed it while I was on Mackinaw Island.Knowing that you are from out of town is an opportunity for unscrupulous people to take advantage of you. This garage did just the opposite -- in fact, they charged me LESS than originally quoted because they didnt have to do as much as they anticipated. I was called throughout the morning, giving me updates on what they were finding and their suggestions. And, on top of that, Eric spotted an issue that would need my attention AFTER I got home. He didnt try to make me panic, thinking that I could break down at any minute, just to make a sale.AllAroundTheTown guy must be talking about a different shop. If I lived in Mackinaw City, this is the place I would take my vehicle. I was impressed with their friendliness, the quality of their work, and their willingness to work me in to their schedule. Eric is a good and honest mechanic and Im very grateful to have met him.I hope that I will never have to visit their garage again ... but if my vehicle decides to act up while in Mackinaw City, this is the ONLY place that I will go. Thank you, Kruegers Service. And, by the way, I made it safely home to Ohio and never had another problem with my vehicle.
