Comment: I had some tricky, intermittent issues going on with my ABS module and a weird misfire. The guys at legacy were thorough and determined the ABS module was bad. Their communication made it pretty clear that they knew what they were doing. Even though it cost a fortune, I was glad to pay a professional his due to figure out a tough problem.They diagnosed my misfire as a sticky exhaust valve, which I decided not to fix and have yet to totally confirm. But their experience in the matter and thoroughness eliminating other possibilities makes me confident they are correct.

Comment: These guys saved me $5k after I brought in my Subaru Outback to diagnose a knock. They notified me of a class action lawsuit against Subaru that had extended my powertrain warranty to 100k miles, due to excessive oil consumption that could lead to said knock. I was at 99k when I brought it in to Legacy, luckily... This is something the Subaru dealer had never disclosed with me in all of my visits for various service, including when I brought the knock to their attention a year before this. Legacy advised me to call Subaru of America, and that a new short block should be covered under the extended warranty. Sure enough, after running an oil consumption test with Subaru, I am now getting a brand new short block at no cost. Being mid winter and almost a foot of snow on the ground we would have likely had to take a bus back home but without batting an eye one of the guys offered to give us a ride back to her appartment because we werent far away. When my truck was finished later that afternoon he even came back to give me a ride to pick it up!Legacy genuinely is one of those friendly family businesses and Im always happy to recommend them whenever Im asked about mechanics.

After dropping my kid off at school on my normal morning routine I had a tire blowout while I had my 5 month old daughter with me. I ask who I now know as John, Hey, can I use your air hose?. He replied,sure, pull right up.. He proceeded to try and put air in my tire. Not holding air, he says. He then proceeded to jack the car up in the parking lot and asks me to check for a spare. I didnt have one. I didnt know what I was going to do from here. John walks away for a moment, comes back with a tire that is an exact for my car (God). Mind you, this is not a tire shop. He then says hey man this should fit. Well throw it on for you, no charge. The manager then comes out right before it starts to rain and says come inside with your daughter, have some coffee well take care of you. After they were done they even parked my car under the car port to keep me and my daughter out of the rain. Great guys there. They didnt have to go out of their way and help, but they did. Comment: My car died while I was visiting Grand Rapids. I decided to take it here based on the preliminary phone call I had made. Jacob was so kind to me over the phone - and thats what convinced me to bring my car here. The employees of Legacy Auto-Tech were some of the most honest, trustworthy, and knowledgeable people of the trade. They turned a frustrating, inconvenient event into a seamless, comfortable one. They knew their stuff inside and out, had comparable prices, and went out of their way to take care of me. I wish they were closer to my side of the state! Id go here for everything! Cannot recommend highly enough. 10 stars.
