The dealership had a 3 week wait to even look at my car, no other shop would touch my car because it a Volvo but Paul and his team took my car in, looked at it in a reasonable amount of time, fixed it at a very fair price and if that wasn’t enough they were above and beyond, my head liner was falling and I was having trouble fixing it so they fixed that for me! It was a pleasant surprise! I’ll definitely be returning! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent experience!

Comment: Had 2008 Saturn Aura that would not start and a U0100 code, calling out lost communication with ECM. Had the car towed to Feldman Chevrolet Livonia. They told me $179 to diagnose the car, I said yes. I received a call from them that the ECM needed to be replaced, +$1350 to do the job. Needed to order the part, so would take an extra day or so. I approved it.They called a couple of days later to tell me they replaced the ECM and the car was running, but the check engine light was still on. They wanted another $179 diagnostic fee to check that out. I asked if they had test driven the car and it ran ok and they said yes. Feeling like I was getting screwed with two diagnosis fees, I said I would take the car as is.I brought it home to diagnose myself. Had a P0315 code which is that the crank shaft position needed to be relearned. After researching that, I determined that, I could replace the crank shaft sensor if needed, but I did not have the tool necessary to force a relearn, so I took the car to another shop (Kirks Auto) for repair. They reported that the relearn for the crankshaft positioning had not been done after the ECM replacement and took a total of 5 minutes. They fixed it and returned it to me with no charge.I would not recommend Feldman to anyone and will use Kirks Auto as my primary go to from now on!

Comment: Very happy with the service we received from Kirk’s Auto. We dropped off my van after hours and before 9:30 am the following morning we had received a phone call with an estimate and then my van was done and ready for pickup before noon. They replaced my rear brake pads and rotors and also fixed a leaking tire that we mentioned and as well as flushed my power steering fluid which they recommended (but also did not push us to do, just told us it would need to be done soon). When I picked my car up, Paul was very busy manning the phones but got to me quickly and had me out the door and back in my van. in just a few minutes all while having a friendly attitude. The price also seemed reasonable as compared to other area shops that we have used. Kirk’s has earned our business and we will definitely be back for any automotive needs.

Comment: I recently went to Kirks for the first time. They changed my oil and things went smoothly as expected. Upon finishing, I was notified that my front struts needed replacing sooner rather than later. So, I asked them if they had the parts to do it and they said yes. I asked if it could be done in a single day if I come in the following Thursday or Friday. They said yes. So, I showed up the following Friday at 8am and had my ride follow me to take me back home...only to find out that they didnt have the parts on site so they couldnt do it that day. Naturally, I was frustrated because it took some work for me to set up a ride and get the time off to have this done. The guy at the desk eventually apologized before I left, but I felt a bit undervalued as a customer nonetheless. I have a wife, a two year-old, and a two-month old (both kids were sick with the flu at the time too). Im in grad school for anesthesia, not allowed to work or get paid during the three-year program, and I am required to required to drive all over the metro area to work long hours in the operating room. I dont get free days. No complaints about it, as all this is my responsibility and choice. However, Im clearly a busy guy and I value my time and resources. All things considered, I scheduled to have my struts done the next week with them, as the original guy (on my oil change day) who helped me, gave me great customer service (aside from whatever miscommunication that followed). Everyone makes mistakes, right? So I had them change my struts the following week. Turns out they fixed my struts in a timely manner, with no upselling at the counter. Im still rating 5 stars, because in the end things worked out well and I truly appreciate the $20 off on the bill for leaving a Google review. I think Kirks is going to be my new place for auto needs. I highly value integrity and honesty and so far, while not perfect, these guys give me good vibes.My takeaway: Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but Kirks genuinely seems like a good auto repair place and I plan to give them my business in the future.

EVERY time i have gone to Kirks for service, it has been EXCEPTIONAL. In a day and time when everything is moving so fast-they slow it down for you, they explain things clearly...there is never an UP CHARGE for something you didnt expect, they go the extra mile for you and their prices for any repair work i have had done has been the BEST DEAL AROUND!! When I went there today for another oil change, they said they could not remove it and I’d have to go to a full service auto repair location to have it removed. These guys not only care about what theyre doing but more importantly they care about their customers! They went above and beyond to help me get the best price to fix my vehicle! The mechanic that work on my vehicle even took the time to help me understand what was going on as well as give me other possible options that may of meant me having to fix the issue myself! The fact that they are willing to do that just proves they are more committed to the customers best interests. That meant a lot to me because not a lot of auto repair companies would do that for their customers!! I will definitely use them again in the future! Comment: I recently took our 2012 F-150 super cab 4x2 in for repair for a drive-line clunk (which I thought was u-joint wear). Instead, the u-joints were in great shape, but they discovered a TSB for a slip-yoke lubrication. It was a less expensive repair, and it fixed the issue! They are a great shop, and very prompt and friendly. We took our truck to Kirks also for brakes and a tune up, and they were also reasonable and prompt! Five stars!

Comment: Took my 2015 Chevy Silverado in for a diagnostic to determine cause of random misfire issues I’ve been having (after taking truck to 2 different other mechanics including dealership who couldn’t determine or resolve issue). The tech was very knowledgeable, and was able to resolve issue quickly performing a manual intake valve cleaning to remove all the excessive carbon buildup. They also performed an induction service. My truck runs like new. The price was very fair & affordable. The staff was professional, and friendly. I would highly recommend using them. Great experience

Comment: This is the best full-service auto repair shop in the area, hands down. The owner, Chris, and his staff routinely provide superior service at fair prices and you wont find a more honest mechanic shop in the country. They are careful to, and do an excellent job of, explaining exactly what the issue is, and what caused it. Often Chris will SHOW you, and explain it in a way that even the mechanically ignorant will be able to understand. You may also receive early warnings of other potential issues with timeline recommendations of when you should try to get it fixed, especially with regard to safety issues, but this is done strictly for your benefit and they are NEVER pushy or try to sell you repairs you dont yet need. In addition to all of this, they value your time, are quick to get you in and out, and the service is usually fast. Plus, they generally have free loaners for you to use for your convenience, and on the off chance they are out, they will probably offer you a ride or get you an Uber! I dont know what else you could possibly want in a shop. I wish I could give this place 6 or 7 stars. If youre looking for somewhere to go, look no longer.

I had an appointment for 8 am and it did take a while for work to start on the car but with winter coming I just figured they are busier than usual. I really appreciated the follow-up call and e-mail giving a detailed account of what they believed needed to be worked on but after saying I simply couldnt afford all of that right now, I didnt feel pressured or scared into getting work done. The only downside was this morning I saw that they left a couple of things they took apart in my car just sitting in the trunk and the back seat so Ill have to put them back myself.

Comment: Major brake job. Was called every step of the way from Chris, finding locking lug nuts for a 96 car. He spent his man hours looking for parts, getting them to the shop for the guys repairing the car at a very reasonable rate. I grew-up in Livonia moved to the west coast 20 years, learned right away lease cars get a new one every two years with everyone trying to rip you off sideways. You can feel safe with a nice used car, no car payment and with guys at Kirks you can trust what and why they are doing whatever you need. Just read the reviews

Comment: Kirks has taken excellent care of my familys cars for a number of years. With kids, its important to feel like our vehicles are safe. Good service, good prices, and I feel like a valued client every time Im there. I have called them going down the highway 60 miles away with a description of a warning light and funny sound. They called me back to remind me to pull over if such-and-such happened (luckily it didnt, and I made it to the shop).

Comment: Nobody ever likes taking their vehicles in to be repaired because it takes time and money. However, it is much easier to do when you know they will repair it right the first time and do it quickly. Ive been taking my car and my wifes SUV here now for a while and they are always friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. I have only had 1 repair take over 1 day and they provided me with a free loaner to use for the day! On top of that after youve spent so much a year you get oil changes for $14.95. Cant beat that. I hope I wont have to be back any time soon except for oil changes but I know if I do need a repair it will be done quickly and at an affordable price. Keep up the great work!

Comment: Their sign said $15 oil change customer appreciation. So I pull in and wait for a while and then by chance find out that the price is $28.95. $15 is only for repeat customers. They should have said that on the sign to not waste my time. I think that is disrespectful to customers and misleading.The manager called me an gave me a free $30 oil change, which I did. The sign was also changed. They did a thorough inspection of the vehicle too. Thank you!They give you good coffee while you wait. One area to improve is that the waiting room is a little cold in winter.

Comment: Kirks Auto Care is the best car repair shop Ive ever used. I found them when I lived right around the block but even now that I live 30 min away they will be my go to place for life. Never will you meet an owner with more integrity and desire to get you what you need. These guys model integrity, trustworthiness,competency,transparency and cleanliness; and isnt that what we all dream of in a car shops. I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids and I know just a little about cars, so countless times they could have easily fooled me and taken advantage of my ignorance but instead they took the time to bring me the broken part of my car and fully explain what caused the noise and what my OPTIONS were in fixing it. Yes, I said options! They are so transparent about giving you the over all picture of what needs to be replaced today or what repairs would be beneficial but honestly not crucial to address today. WHO DOES THAT? All other shops Ive dealt with look at your car, and tell you what they need permission to do on it and end up suckering you into replacing things that dont need replacing. And as a side note the the whole place is really clean, and that means a lot to this mom. Not only does it reflect on good management and care to detail, but it feels good to not have to walk into a dirty, waiting room that feels like your in their garage. I have been going to these guys for about 4 years now and have been so impressed. Stop by for your next oil change and get a feel for them. Oh and if you have current car problems that need to be addressed I think they are doing a promo right now that new customers get 10% of their first service(im pretty sure you just have to mention the deal to them). I know us moms love a good coupon. :) Go to Kirks Auto Care...even if its a drive for you...you wont be disappointed.

Comment: AWESOME service and excellent pricing.I was in the area on business and had a vehicle emergency. One of the springs for my suspension broke in the middle of the night, thanks to the quality roads up here in MI!Since I am from out of state they were kind enough to put me ahead of one other customer. I ended up needing quite a bit of work done but they were able to have us back up within 24 hours and their pricing was extremely reasonable. Their price was just under what my regular mechanic would have charged me back in Ohio. We had the pleasure of talking to the owner a few times and he is great.I would highly recommend this shop! Excellent job guys!
