They kept me updated throughout the entire inspection process and let me know of any other issues they found so that we could get everything taken care of all at once. They completed the work quickly and did an excellent job. It’s also super nice that you can pay your bill online then just stop in to pick up the car at your convenience. Super honest shop and a great group of guys running it. This is the only shop I really trust to work on any of my cars.

Comment: I dropped my car early morning due to oil pressure gauge failure. Right after lunch, I received a text and an email with link to the inspection report, which detailed the Technician Concerns with green, yellow or red severity status. Of course, oil pressure switch failure was listed as red. I took time to review the report, then reached to the store for costs, and eventually decided on the repairs/maintenances I wanted, i.e. fixing oil pressure switch and replacing all four brakes. Kyle promised to complete by end of next day. And I did receive a call from Kyle at 5pm the following day that repair was done. After paying for the service, I received a digital invoice with itemized parts and labor costs.One thing I noticed is that they thoroughly cleaned the engine compartment and strut/bushing areas (while they ran the inspections? I guess).Generally, I am very satisfied with the Kerners service, notably transparency both technical and financial, on time, and repair quality.

Comment: I was very impressed with the whole Kerner team! Easy to make and appt. online. Brought my somewhat neglected 2014 Camry hybrid in for routine maintenance. No indication that I needed it, except dashboard message. They were the only independent auto mechanic shop I could find close by that has a hybrid/ev specialist on staff. Front desk and mechanics were all very professional, changed oil, and a few filters. and gave me a very detailed quote for other recommended maintenance. Kerner is now my local go to.

Comment: I’ve used Kerner’s about 6 times now and I’ve never had a better experience with auto service. Allie, Kyle and Tyler are very professional and personable. They’re honest about the needs of your vehicle and their techs have always been swift at fixing and addressing issues. Their system to show all points of inspection have been my favorite aspect as they provide a detailed breakdown of all areas that are in good condition and areas that may need servicing. Their prices are fair and they will try to save you money when purchasing parts and avoiding unnecessary labor charges.One time a small issue occurred, where a few clips for the cover on my driver seat buttons broke (the car was in the shop for a different reason), they purchased a new cover for me at no charge, as it was an accident with a tech and the part was old anyway.Can’t recommend them enough!

Comment: I took my Toyota Prius Hybrid in to have a problem checked out. It turned out the problem was cost prohibitive for a 12yr old vehicle with 240k miles. Not only did they let me use their loaner vehicle they waived the 2hr fee for completely going over my car with a fine tooth comb. I was speechless. I’m sure this was a couple hundred dollars of their time. I could not believe it. In the future if I ever need service on a vehicle I will be going there. Comment: My daughter’s car started having issues on a Saturday night. Sunday I looked up the number to Kerners so I could call them Monday morning. I noticed they have an online appointment system, I completed the information and the first available appointment was on Friday, I really couldn’t wait that long so I called on Monday morning. Tyler was able to fit us in for an inspection that day and told me they wouldn’t be able to get the repairs completed until Tuesday or Wednesday (way better than Friday). I asked them to take it on a test drive so they could hear and experience the issues the car was having, they agreed. They also ran an 30 point inspection and texted the report to my phone. A few minutes later Tyler called me to go over the report. We discussed each point and decided which repairs to do now, which could wait. They completed the repairs in a timely manner at a price I thought was very fair. Tyler kept us informed every step of the way. My daughter picked up her car on Wednesday and an hour later left on a cross country road trip with no mechanical issues.

Comment: 1st time visit to Kerners on 11/22/23 for front brakes, oil change and suspension work. Service advisor Tyler and staff did a great job. Car was cleaned and drove great. While the work order had a brake fluid flush listed, I discovered to my disappointment that the mechanic did not flush. Called Tyler on Monday, had him pick up the car and returned the same day. Took care of the brake fluid flush as well as cleaned fluid reservoir and bled antilock brakes. I am very pleased that all is well and that Tyler took care of me. Car drives phenomenal with new suspension. Quickly and expertly resolving a customer concern is a valued trait. Ill be back.

Comment: Took my vehicle in for a check engine light issue with my Ford Explorer. Kerners diagnosed the issue and completed the repairs. Check engine light came back on after driving approximately 150 miles. Contacted them and let them know the light was back on. Kyle immediately had me set up another appointment to review the check engine light. After determining that the light would not go away, even when the repairs had been completed and no drivability issues, Kyle offered me a loaner for further diagnostic checks. After extensive review, Kerners determined that there was a software issue with the vehicle and completed the fix to remove the light. Kerners went above and beyond to diagnose the issue and complete the fix. I was very happy with the outcome. The prices were competitive and the constant communication regarding the status of the vehicle was appreciated.

I did not feel overly pressured to fix things that weren’t necessary just so I would spend more money (which I have felt visiting some other shops). I will definitely be using this company again.

Comment: Went through 5 shops to diagnose my 2012 Toyota Prius V hybrid with over $1000 in dealer inspection fees before finding Kerner’s. Their hybrid technician Michael is simply the best! He diagnosed several issues including the HV battery pack cell voltage, DC inverter/converter and LV battery charging systems. He was able to find the problem and repaired/replaced several parts. Two Toyota dealers would have charged $2100 more and WOULDN’T HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM!!! Kerner’s did a fantastic job. Honest and reasonable. A client for life!!!

Comment: Originally, I took my older car to Belle for an alignment, after doing some suspension work. The car came back pulling to the right... no explanation from Belle, they just took my money. Then, I took the car to these guys for a double check. They said everything was way out of whack. It turns out that the car needed some major trickery to get it to align correctly (pulling the struts off and slotting them out, among other things). They spent a bunch of hours on the car, way past the cost of a standard alignment. I offered to pay for the extra hours they spent, they wouldnt take my money. Nice to come a cross people that are honest and take some pride in their work. The car tracks great now. And they cleaned the interior (?). These guys are great, highly recommend.

I prefer using independent auto shops as my Dad & I used to do whatever automotive work on his cars himself (equipment permitting) so I believe in the non-corporate guys vs big dealership and their huge labor costs.The first time I had a rattle in my R tire well only heard turning right and turns out a flap got lose and they removed it with no charge in 20 mins.A second time I needed brakes replaced and general 40k mile maintenance and they ran a whole diagnostic and charged me reasonably. I drive a Mazda CX3 also and that sometimes makes me weary with American vs foreign cars but they knew what they were doing.A 3rd time I kept hearing metal on metal scraping in my passenger rear and I knew it couldn’t be my brakes but concerned it could’ve been my CV joint. Turns out I must’ve ran over a piece of metal that then caused it to get lodged. They removed it in 20 mins and didn’t charge me again. I appreciate that courtesy bc I don’t think you’d get it at the dealership. They would charge you for anything including just having your car hoisted to examine.Loaner cars are provided if you ask nicely and it’s available. They’re clean and get you from point A to point B.Thanks Kerner’s! My boyfriend continues to use the dealership and pay $600 each time but I prefer Kerner’s.

My biggest concern with my car was a car horn that started honking all by itself. Other maintenance items were addressed.Over the years I have used many repair shops. Comment: I needed an oil change and couple of friends of mine referred me to Kerner’s, that they’re trustworthy, reliable and reasonably priced. I drive by their garage daily, after work, so I popped in. I’m not sure if the owner/manager helped me, but he was friendly and professional.The waiting area was clean and actually smelled good! There were a couple of minor issues, such as an oil cap that needed to be replaced, so one of the employees ran out to retrieve one, since they didn’t have one in stock. I saw the display of wiper blades and asked if they could replace my old ones. Basically, these guys went above and beyond for me! I’ll definitely be taking my ‘98 Cherokee Sport back there, for future repairs. Thanks guys!

Comment: I first was recommended here by an elderly gentleman who owned a transmission shop down the road. He said they were honest , fair and knowledgeable .When I took one of my vehicles there, Mike the owner, stopped what he was doing and came out and looked at my car extensively for 15 minutes. He said I was good to go, and charged me nothing.I was very grateful and wouldn’t forget it.When my other vehicle needed attention I took it there. They couldn’t find the problem, so they kept it overnight to make sure it was safe to drive. The heating problem was resolved and I was good to go. Six weeks later, the same problem arose. I took the vehicle back they went through it again, extensively, kept the car overnight again to make sure the problem was resolved. While they worked on my car at length, I was never charged.From Tyler at the service desk, to the master mechanics, their follow through was exceptional, and I will be a loyal customer going forward .

Comment: It’s early in the am, cold, wet and dreary out and I get a flat tire. After taking the tire off and putting on the spare I began to call shops. Out of 10 shops no one could of helped that day. They all had a two day turn around to plug the tire. When I called Kerners the guy was like sure in a happy voice , come on in we’ll take care of you this morning. After quickly repairing the tire they took it for a short test drive. They ran a complete diagnostic on the vehicle. Since our vehicle is 14 years old this was very helpful in determining whether the car was worth repairing. We ended up getting our tensioner replaced. Comment: Fantastic experience, I took my 1969 mustang here to get the entire brake system redone and they did a fantastic job, they were upfront and honest about what needed to be replaced and what didn’t, and kept me updated with the progress throughout the week. Comment: Always hate taking my cars to shops because you always hear the horror stories of other’s experiences. Kerner’s must be the exception. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and quality service. Had my 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT wipe a cam lobe. Ended up using Kerner’s because they were approved through my warranty service. They kept me informed on their progress every step of the way and documented all their findings. It was a pretty heavy duty job, but they did it in a super reasonable time. Car has been driving great since. Definitely would recommend and would return if ever needed again.

The dealership had made a recommendation for a repair that was going to be costly with no guarantee that it would fix the problem I was experiencing. They have a super easy after-hours drop off and they called me as soon as they opened the next morning to let me know that they were going to take a look at my car immediately. I was lucky enough to have this happen right next to Kerners Auto Service. I was able to use their drop box to leave my car after hours which they have a great system for. They called me promptly the next morning with a preliminary diagnosis and had a full write up for me with pictures later in the day. Comment: Kerner’s did extensive work to my 2002 Yukon XL a couple of months ago and I was very pleased that they continued their great work and personal care for my satisfaction. They took diagnostic pictures of each of the areas of concern and explained exactly what they were going to do to fix the various problems. There was no price gouging or trying to charge me for work that didn’t need to be done. They have continued this legacy for well over 40 years. I took my vehicle back in there after two months and told them that I was concerned about one of the items they had worked on. They looked it over and spent somewhere in the area of over $500 worth of labor and replaced the parts under warranty and charged me zero to return the car to me in working condition. That’s why I keep going back.

Comment: I’ve been leasing vehicles for the past 15 years. I bought my current vehicle and my 50,000 mile warranty was expired, so I needed to find a good shop for service since. My friend recommended Kerner’s because they are honest and do great work. He was correct. They found out that the dealer had lied to me about my warranty. My vehicle actually had a 60,000 mile warranty and the parts and labor would be covered by the dealer. They also did a vehicle inspection and let me know what work I’ll need in the next few months.They could have just done the work and charged me for the repair, but instead they chose to be honest and do the right thing. That means I will be taking my vehicle there for any repairs in the future.

Comment: I am so impressed with Kerners Auto Service. Im from the Westside of Michigan. I was in town visiting when my car started running poorly. I stopped in at Kerners because they were the closest shop near me when my car started acting up. When I explained the problem and that I had a 3 hour drive to get home, the young lady at the desk went and talked to one of the mechanics.
