Comment: I had a fantastic experience at Interstate Auto Care! They are by far the most friendly and professional mechanics I’ve ever talked to. I spoke to both Nick and Carl to get my car in to fix a misfire. They were super friendly and transparent. The crew at Interstate not only replaced my spark plugs and an ignition coil to take care of the misfire, but also pointed out a broken sway bar link I wasn’t aware of before and swapped it out for me! They truly believe in putting your safety as a driver and the safety of others first. They also pointed out additional maintenance for getting the most life out of my car I’ll have done in the near future including a cleaning of the fuel system and swapping out the PCV valve. I’m grateful I brought my car in to Interstate Auto Care and will bring my car back for any major issues in the future. Thank you to the fine folks at Interstate for all you do!

Comment: Ive been having a persistent problem with charging (or lack of charge) to my auxiliary LiFePO4 batteries in my Sprinter camper. Ive spoken to many people about this and went to 2 other shops. Nick was incredibly helpful and introduced me to their electrical specialist Casey. They quickly diagnosed the problem as a failing alternator, which others had missed, and replaced it within a day. They performed additional checks as well. The system performs perfectly now. Very happy! Also the shop is spotless and very well organized.

Comment: These guys are sick. Needed a starter and water pump replacement on my A4. Dealership wanted to charge me almost 2x what I paid here, with all the same warranties and standards that I got with Interstate Auto. Not only did i save money, but I felt cared for from start to finish. They explained the problem, how the problem started, what they were going to do to fix it, and they gave me the coolest loaner I’ve ever driven while they were taking care of my car :) It was just like asking my own dad to fix my car, except they didn’t yell at me to hold the flashlight straight or go grab them a beer. Shout out to Karl for getting me in right away and keeping me updated throughout. I’ll be back!!

Comment: Great, friendly, and honest service. They did not try to scam me. I’m had previously taken the car to Bell Tire in Rochester for an alignment. That team inspected the car and came back saying that the strut needs grinding and that it would cost an additional $140 over the alignment cost. The alignment was never done properly by Bell Tire as.i declined the grinding of the struts. I decided to go to Interstate Auto a”as it was a recommendation from Costco. Spoke to the gentleman at the front about the grinding of the struts and he explained that they would not alter the original manufacturer parts. Interstate Auto Care completed my alignment and provided me with the before and after inspection of the alignment. The car now drives very smoothly. Don’t get scammed by Bell Tire!

This air conditioning had been worked on twice before recently in Florida, to no conclusion. Interstate had it 2 days and totally diagnosed the issue and repaired it. The service was great and the cost was fair. Comment: Interstate should be the gold standard for independent repair shops. My very first visit they found faulty work from another shop and provided avenues for me to seek compensation. Every experience since then has been transparent and thorough. They always take the time to explain the problem and educate the customer, answering any questions. The software system they use for providing inspection details and quotes is very convenient. They always prioritize the work needed and keep the customers best interests in mind so they can keep driving a safe, reliable vehicle. I do not mind paying for their services because they hire competent staff and I know the work will be done correctly and done well.

He was totally honest and told me it was a new product for them and asked me if I wanted to try it. He got my vehicle in right away. The service was completed in a timely manner. Overall it was a a very good experience. Nick was friendly professional and straight forward. He gave a very competitive price for the new product. A huge bonus is that the waiting area is clean and comfortable. Thats not something you find everywhere.

Never had a bad experience in their shop bill (the owner) and all the staff, are trustworthy and will always be straight up with what is needed on your car. If you have a lot of repairs they will work with you to see what needs to be done in order of urgency to get your car repaired to the state it needs to be. I moved to Colorado for a few years and was frequently missing them , wishing that they were in Colorado! As long as they are around I will FOREVER be taking my car to interstate auto !!!

The next time I took my car to them, was different bc my mom had passed, I was in my 1st semester of a masters prg, totally stressed out & depressed. But Bill worked with me, then went an extra mile to reach out to me from his heart with truth & comfortingwords about losing my mom. He offered his & his familys time if I ever needed to talk then shared more, like a father would. He didnt have to do that. When I visit interstate its like going to a 2nd home where I feel comfortable and know Ill be safe. I had them do a used vehicle inspection on my van and they painstakingly went through the van with a fine tooth comb and found every problem and potential problem that could be found. They contacted me and told me what needed to be done right away and what could wait. I went ahead and authorized all of the work to be done. The customer service was outstanding, at the shop, and when they followed up to make sure everything was running fine, and smooth and assured me that they were there if anything did arise, and not to hesitate to give them a call, I really like this shop. it was clean inside, very updated the shop and the waiting area. They had accommodations like drinks and snacks were available while you wait. It was a very pleasant experience I must say not to mention all of the technicians had their certification out on the wall, front and center for you to have a look at while you wait I had too many things done to list here and there were only a few of the things I had done in the drop-down menu to select but I had quite a bit of work done at this shop. And I genuinely feel like I got my moneys worth and that’s a rarity these days when you leave the auto shop, I will definitely go back to interstate.

Was going to do a tire replace from Costco in the Troy area- but they suggested I come to Interstate to make sure there was nothing else wrong- as the tires showed signs of weird wear (they don’t do alignments). Interstate took my car late Friday, diagnosed the issue - replaced the 2 problematic tires and did alignment within 2 hours. They completed my car just before they closed at 6pm. I felt their prices and what they charged for was fair- they did not recommend any additional/unneeded work. It needs new fuel lines and therefore will need new brake lines as well. Comment: Took my mothers car here to have an alignment done. Another well known place had said that she needed ball joints and control arms in addition to a front end alignment. That was BS. Met with an Adam at the front desk at the designated time. He was polite, very professional, and explained everything thoroughly. After trying to do the alignment, Adam called back and asked if she had been in an accident or hit a pothole. Turns out her tie rod was badly bent on the passenger side front and this was the cause of them not being able to get it into alignment. Total cost was $350 dollars compared to the very well know place that wanted to charge her $960 for ball joints and control arms that didnt need to be done. This was my first time using Interstate. I would recommend them and will be back in the future. On a side note, we were the first customer of the day. When we returned to pick up her car, the lot was packed. I guess that means they must be doing something right. Overall, very positive experience.

Comment: I have a lot of cars, I bring in my cars often because I drive a lot. Interstate Auto always greets me and gives me a breakdown of what I need when I need it. Hope they are doing well during the pandemic because I’d hate having to find an honest and professional mechanic again.

Comment: The staff is very friendly. They really explain to you in detail what is wrong with your car. The waiting area is clean. It has a restroom, they also offer coffee , water, pop for free. They even have chargers for your phones. They also offer loaner cars if they should need to keep your car for a period of time.

Comment: Had to drive up north last minute and get a quick alignment right before it. The new tires feel very nice I had prepared beforehand and Industrials alignment was pretty spot on with them. Ill be returning to get another alignment once I have underneath the car swapped out

Comment: Ive only ever brought my vehicles here for alignments after modifying and lowering the suspension. When I first brought my e39 BMW in for an alignment after putting it on coilovers, I was unsure about the place as I am with any repair shop. Within minutes of talking to the service writer I was immediately comfortable and gladly handing over my keys. This is due mostly in part to the fact I could tell that they arent just a repair facility, but also automotive enthusiasts as well. Too often these days shops are open to just make money, these guys still genuinely love cars. It felt like I was leaving my cars with a trusted friend. I have since had my 99 BMW, 03 Mini Cooper S, and 05 Forester XT all aligned here and each and every time theyve come back perfect and within manufacturers spec. All for a very fair price.I wouldnt hesitate to return or recommend them to anyone.

Comment: I needed a mechanic that works on Range Rovers and had the absolute best experience today! They’re knowledgeable and honest. I would have been an easy target to rip off and they were fantastic! They also let me use their loaner car to get home to work today. They will be the only shop I take my car to. I was nervous, this is my first luxury car and used car purchase ever. 6 weeks after purchase, the engine light came on. They put my mind at ease going forward and I so appreciate them! Comment: Awesome! I was nervous about trying a new mechanic but I am so glad I gave these guys a try. Both Rick and Bill were friendly, professional and trustworthy. They explained everything that was going on with my vehicle, got to the root of my car issues (something my old mechanic couldn’t do), found an aftermarket part that saved me money, offered a complimentary loaner and finished major repairs in no time. Their hours are convenient-open on Saturdays and the shop is neat and clean. Don’t hesitate to give them a try!

Comment: This is a place you can trust.I originally took my care to Firestone for an alignment and was told I needed new struts and a tie rod. Rick at Interstate diagnosed that a proper alignment could be made with an add on part. I saved over a $1000 !!!Finding an honest repair shop is worth it’s weight in gold. Comment: I hit one of the worst potholes in Michigan a few days ago and it tore up my front end parts of my Jeep. I took it to interstate Auto Care because I have only had great experiences with them in the past, they were able to get the parts and have the work completed in about a day and a half. Which is pretty awesome considering the extensive damage. Casey and Bill were excellent as always and they have a lifetime customer in me!

Comment: Bill and the whole team at Interstate are the best. I had them look at an F-150 from Craigslist. The car looked great from craigslist - 1 owner, had all the records. This truck had over 100K miles and I wanted it to become my every day rider for another 100K. Without Interstates thorough inspection I would have made a big mistake. While the truck had been a one owner it had not been well kept up, and many parts were rusted to the point where any future repairs would cost thousands. Interstate understood I was in a rush to find a ready to drive vehicle, and helped me search for and inspect another car that day! I travel for work and Interstate is my go to moving forward! Comment: I came to them very frustrated about a problem with my windshield wipers. I was hesitate to try a new place, especially being a woman with little to no knowledge about cars, but I was treated with the utmost respect. Other car repair place had told us that our car was in need of breaks and we decided to take it here and he showed my husband that his breaks were fine and didnt need to be replaced in a while. Comment: Outstanding service. Within an hour Interstate Auto was able to accurately diagnose and permanently fix my issue after I had taken it to a few other auto repair shops over the last two years and left those repair shops with no permanent fix. Casey is a great technician and Bill, the owner, really takes the time to explain everything. They did an overall vehicle check and found one other issue that wasnt an immediate problem but I had them replace the half-way worn part anyway. Now I feel safe and comfortable driving my car. I would definitely recommend this Interstate Auto repair shop to others.

Comment: Interstate Autocare truly goes beyond and above in their customer service. Last year I got a car accident and had to bring my car to their shop for fixings. At that time, there was some disagreement between my insurance and their shop, so I had to pay some money out of my pocket for the repair.9 months later (this was delayed due to me having an unrelated injury), I contact my insurance about the out of pocket amount I had to pay. Interstates Autor Care shop owner helped me explain the billing to my insurance and helped me some refund back. They are under no obligation to do so, yet they truly deliver their best in helping me with this. The facts that the shop values customer experience over money make them a true gem in this business.I recommend this shop to all my friends and family for their competence and high work ethics.

Comment: Bill, Joe, Casey, and everyone here is at this point considered family, vise versa. Ive been taking my car here for 5+ years now, and every single time it comes back running phenomenally. The service here is extremely friendly; like I said they treat everyone like family. The renovations they are making are wonderful. They have an arcade machine, a fridge full of drinks, puffy chairs/couches, and a flatscreen television to watch while you wait. Comment: This was my first time using Interstate Auto Care and I was very happy with my experience. I hit a pothole and bent my wheel. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, efficient and knowledgable. I dropped my car off in the morning and by 10am I had an update that they were able to repair my wheel and I wouldnt need to purchase a new one! By noon they had it fixed, installed and even put on my new wiper blades that had been sitting in my backseat. You obviously never want things to go wrong with your car, but should something arise I will be a return customer to Interstate.

Comment: Honesty is tough to find in the car repair industry, weather it’s a dealership or independent shop but these guys are the real deal. We take our work vehicles there and they did a good job with them so I started taking my personal car there too and they always came through for me. They take every situation as a case by case basis, don’t push unnesssicary repairs and are always willing to explain things if you don’t understand. Bill and team have been nothing but good to me, and the work speaks for itself.

Comment: I never write a review unless I have a super awesome experience somewhere, or a really bad one! Walking into interstate, I was a bit sceptical because Ive been to so many shops that have tried to rip me off. Ive been shopping around for cars for the last couple of weeks and its been one of the most frustrating, emotional, and stressful experiences of my whole life! My father passed away not too long ago so doing something like buying a car without a man present is very hard. Scam after scam! And everyone treats you like youre a dang fool! Even auto mechanics when you ask them to inspect your car! Thats until Bill (the owner) came along! I stopped in to visit his shop to get a car checked out that I wanted to purchase and after reading it, he saved me $4,800! Because there were a million invisible things wrong with it! BUT THATS NOT ALL!!! Without even knowing my situation, He went above and beyond to help me! He gave me his personal cell phone told me to face time him, and ON HIS OFF DAY showed me what to do to test the quality of a car, how to inspect it, spoke to sellers asking them qualifying questions, and had scammers shook!!! I felt like my father was with me in spirit. THATS HOW GOOD HE WAS! I will recommend my friends, family, and anyone reading this review to go to him!!! You can trust him! And very soon,I will be taking my New Nissan Sentra to him for any and all future repairs. Hes honest! Hes knowledgeable! He taught me a lot! He treated me with care like hes known me forever! Comment: Good service. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Visited Woodward Dream Cruise from Canada with my -75 Pontiac Grand Ville. The master cylinder started leaking Friday evening. Brought my car in Saturday morning. They worked on my car until it was fixed at 6:00 pm even though the shop is closing at 5:00 pm Saturdays. I was able to get back on to road and continue cruising on the Woodward Dream Cruise, and also able to return to Canada next day.

Comment: Amazing Staff!!! I have never experienced an owner going to bat for the customer against an insurance company before, but Bill did it! He would not allow the first low ball inspection of my repairs to happen, so we got a second insurance adjuster out and he argued safety points and got them to up the estimate almost double to make my car safe again. #amazingBill and Joe were always great to deal with, very informative, and my car runs great. I will be back for future repair work, and I already started telling my family and co-workers.Yea, you can always go somewhere cheaper but in return you will get cheaper work Do yourself a favor and go here, trust them.
