I had the car towed to the shop.They were busy but were able to squeeze me in. The staff there were able to diagnose the problem, order the part , and make the repair. The staff there are experienced, knowledgeable, and easy to work with and I highly recommend them.

Comment: Best auto service I have seen ever. Caring, kind, helpful. My vehicle started losing power and shuddering while towing a small camper to Sleeping Bear Dunes. My wife and I ran the car over to Traverse, with the engine light blinking, hoping to get emergency service because I had to move the camper out of the park by noon the next day. Called Garfield Auto because they had the highest rating in google. When I explained the situation they said bring it in, they would diagnose and see what was going on. They ran a computer check and said spark plugs misfiring - so new plugs. On my car, an old Lexus RX300, it meant pulling the manifold to get to the plugs, a lot of work. Carl, working the desk, said they would have it in the morning in time for us to get back to the campground in time. So we called for a car rental to get back to the camp overnight and the owner of the shop, Jeff, gave us a ride to Enterprise. Garfield Auto called the next morning to say it was ready. The total cost was about half the estimate so that was a wonderful surprise. The estimate was based on the volume of work, parts that might be needed, like coils, the plugs, and anything else they might discover. Sometimes fixing one problem uncovers another. The wanted us to be prepared for the potential cost. Please keep in mind that Garfield Auto was extremely busy with weeks of work scheduled. They listened patiently while we explained our situation and they helped. Best people and service I have ever seen.

Comment: Both times I have needed my brakes done I have brought my car here. I just brought my car in a week ago to have the brakes looked at because they were really squeaky. They repaired my back brakes and I took it home but my car was still really squeaky. I was driving home from school today and noticed my car making a bumping noise so I called them and they got it in immediately. The guy who looked at my car was names Derrick (I think), and he was very kind and got my car fixed right up. Said the calipers were put on funny about a year ago and they started to rub on the rotor. They didn’t charge me for this service since it was a small error done there a year ago. They also said the bumping noise was because I ran over a bolt. They took my tire to the tire repair shop for me and only charged for the cost of that repair. Great people!!!

Comment: I deleted my existing review to make a new one. Ive been going here for my truck for almost 3.5 years and have gotten service on my wheel bearings, brakes, oil and new wiring. I cant tell you how grateful I am for these people. After so many times calling in over the years, half the time one of them can tell who I am just by my voice. They know their customers. Theyre friendly and are honest people who wont rip you off. I had a new wiring harness pigtail installed for my trailer. Went home, the connection was good but some of the lights werent working. Went back, told them what was happening. They did their work and when I went home to test the trailer lights, BAM! Everything worked. Solid people. They have seating and a bathroom FYI.

I called Garfield (on a Friday morning) after reading Google reviews as well as getting a recommendation. They had a full day schedule but were gracious enough to work my car in, diagnose it, and repair it in about 5 hours time. Everyone was very friendly, accommodating, VERY knowledgeable, thorough, and honest honest HONEST! There is one more repair needed. Comment: So, were cruising along on our annual trip to northern Michigan when the power cuts out and were stranded. The tow truck driver was great, and gave a quick diagnosis of a failed fuel injector, based on his minimal time with the car. This wouldve thrown off our vacation budget. We dropped it off overnight with Garfield Auto. Marc and team found that the fuel line had been accidentally loosened during a recent service visit back home. They popped it back on, drove it to confirm all was good, and didnt charge me anything! They are a solid team, theyve made a customer for life, and my brother-in-law made a note of them too! Comment: Awesome mechanics! We were on a cross country road trip and on our way into Traverse City we started hearing load noises come from the front tire. I called Garfield at 5pm and they said theyd look at it first thing next morning. We had a cracked CV boot that led to leaking grease and a ruined axle. They ordered the part and installed it first thing the next morning. We were so thrilled that they got us back on the road as quickly as imaginable. They were very friendly, upfront, honest, and since everything is working well, I can only assume they did great work. I wish we lived in Traverse City so that they could become our regular mechanics! Thanks Garfield!
