Comment: I took my ‘77 big block van in for a job that most mechanics in town would blanch at. They were enthusiastic about working on it and did a spectacular job. They went above and beyond, cleaning mating surfaces and even gave my oil pan a new ford blue coating. They didn’t even tell me they did those things, I just saw it after I got the thing home! Very fair on the price for the job- they gave me a break on it since I’d already done a chunk of the work. Highly recommend this shop.

Comment: This was the best experience I have ever had at a shop like this. Devlin was so wonderful. I had dropped my car off at another place for a repair from the manufacturer due to a part needing to be replaced. They inspected the car and said I also needed 3000 dollars worth of repairs. I felt it was incorrect because the car was working just fine. I also havent had this car very long. My husband said I needed to go to Frankie Ds. I called and told them what was going on and took it in. After they started the repairs they said part of the repairs were not needed. Then I was told what the other place found was normal and I did not need to worry about it as my car doesnt have enough miles on it to worry about the normal wear and tear. They saved me over 2700 dollars. Thank you so much for everything. I will do my business here from now on.

Suggested 3 other repairs which need to be done with estimates but was not pushy us having it done now.After the repair, the drive belt fell apart in the engine. It looked fine when it went in. We used to live just up the road from them and even after moving half an hour away still drive back to them for any car service that we need. Comment: Ive always went to Frankie Ds for my auto repairs. My dad always trusted him and Ive always trusted him. Frank will tell it exactly like it is. If it needs fixing now, hell say so. If it can safely wait, hell let you know how long he thinks you can wait. It is busy and you have to make an appointment days in advance, but theres a reason for that! And the reason is Franks integrity and quality of work. There is a charge to diagnose a problem, but if you have it fixed that comes off the price of the repairs. Also theyre very good at quickly identifying unusual electrical problems.

Comment: I cant say enough about how wonderful and easy dealing with Frankie has been!! We are from IL and had a major breakdown with our car while visiting our daughter there in Holt. He was extremely helpful and considerate. He worked with us and our insurance company and really went above and beyond in service to accommodate our needs. We really had no idea where to take our car, since we were from out of state, and Frankie made us feel confident and safe in our choice with his one-on-one communication. I would highly recommend Frankie Ds to anyone in or out of the area!

Comment: Never thought Id enjoy taking my car in to an auto repair place, but Im pleased to be proven wrong. :) I was able to speak directly to Frankie and he was patient (but still very speedy), and even took me back to show me what was wrong with my car (I came in for an alignment, but figured I might have other issues). No pushing or prodding to come back to his shop specifically to get it fixed--he just wanted to make sure I understood what was wrong, and I really appreciated it! No other mechanic has taken the time to actually show me the problem. They normally just give you a bill with little explanation. Not at Frankies! Didnt talk down to me, and was very cheery and polite, even though it was clear he was incredibly busy.He told me Id be fine through the holidays, just to get it handled eventually.I waited in the lobby with the secretaries who were very friendly and obviously very dedicated to the community and their customers while the alignment was done. Took a little longer than the estimated hour, but it was hard to mind with such pleasant company.If my car needs anything else while Im still in Lansing area, Ill be sure to head back to Frankie D.s!PS- if the above wasnt enough to convince you of the 5-star rating: the price was also incredibly affordable compared to other shops in the area.

Comment: My go to mechanic! All the staff are friendly and know their stuff. I purchased a Chrysler 300 that ended up having many complications - wish I wouldve gotten it checked out before I bought it. But! Frankie practically rebuilt the car. He always gave me the best option with repairs, even if it meant we go somewhere else (i.e.; Our headlights would flick on and off, which is a Chrysler issue only - Frankie was willing to try to fix the headlight module himself, but he couldnt guarantee it - so instead of getting our money and it not working, he suggested we go spend a little more at the Chrysler dealer who he knew would be able to fix it!). Many mechanics are in it for the money, Frankies company is definitely not! Theyre there to work with you, and give you a permanent fix. All the repairs they did have made an extreme difference! Im looking into purchasing a 2nd car, Ill definitely be getting Franks opinion on what I should go with. If we ever need anything with any car we have - I guarantee Ill be back!

Comment: This was my second trip to Frankie Ds, and the second time they have saved my bacon. They are fast, reliable, and provide quality work. They always take the time to explain the mechanical failure, the costs, and they will even work with you to create a reasonable repair schedule. Also, they will not initiate a repair if they know that the end result will be a dangerous vehicle. I want to end my review with this statement: its always the little things that count the most...My last repair involved electrical work, and after fixing the problem they even reset my clock. Is that a small afterthought...sure, but it serves as a perfect example of how Fankie Ds really strives to go the extra mile!!!!!
