They were very professional, explained everything that was wrong clearly, charged me fairly, and took pictures to support what they said. As well, I unfortunately wrecked my car on my way home, and they were willing to take it back at a slight discount since I was just there. Then when it turned out my car was totalled they said theyd inspect the used vehicle I purchase to replace it for free. I just really appreciated them being so understanding and willing to work with me when I dont have a lot of money and needed the help.

Comment: I would highly recommend this business. My van was going hard left when I would let go of the steering wheel, to the point of crashing. I took my van to another shop 3 times and they couldnt figure out the problem, they had it for weeks at a time, and it was expensive. I took it to Elsessers Automotive and they diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a couple of days for a very reasonable price. It was a simple wheel alignment and they also checked over everything else on the van. They also balanced the front wheels for free to get the van running straight and stopped the vibration as well. Thanks! I would recommend anybody looking for a new auto shop to take their vehicles to use Elsessers Automotive.I took my truck there to get some fluids changed, an injection cleaning, and a power steering hose replaced. Once again great service!I also took my van back up there for some rear brakes, a steering bushing, and an alignment. Great service!I had my car up there to get the brakes, transmission hoses, and some other maintenance done. They did a great job!Took my truck up there because I had some issues they fixed everything in one day. Great service, quality of work, and quick!I had my truck up there to get a noise fixed that was coming from a pully. They replaced the 2 idler pullys. It was still making noise. Took it back up there, they replaced the tensioner pully. After that pully was replaced the noise was still there. Took it back up there and they had to replace the AC compressor because the pully was about to break or seize. They helped me out and replaced the tensioner and AC compressor for free because they originally didnt diagnose the problem correctly. They put a used AC compressor on and the noise finally went away. I would recommend using this auto shop because they are true to their word and are committed to excellence as well as making every customer happy. I will always take my vehicles up there for all of my auto repair needs! 100% customer satisfaction is definitely guaranteed.

Comment: I came in to have a coolant thermostat replaced per a check engine code. I had an appointment. They told me it was their standard practice to do a full review of my vehicle to see everything that might need to be fixed. I wasn’t aware of that when I came in and was stuck there without a ride home. I had expected to be there for maybe an hour and a half to have my repair done and instead I was there for over three hours just to have the analysis done. I had to make another appointment to come back to have the repair done, along with one of the other items they found.They were very friendly and I loved the very detailed analysis with cost breakdown of each item they sent. They did good work but I wish they had clarified how much time that analysis would take.

No discussion of extensivevtime to do it. Bill was $149. Additional for a 62.00 belt for LABOR?? Sounds excessive?? Why so much? My experience is always great but no discussion when you plan to spend 100 on average and yoir bill goes to $293.00.Makes me think I need to look somewhere else? 🤔Love the staff and convenience.

Fortunately, the fix was quick and easy and I had my truck back the same day. Overheated and warped both heads. Then tore it down, got the heads redone and put it all back together. I was texted and told to bring my vehicle in at 7:30 am I was there right on the dot and was told employees don’t come in to work on cars till 8. So I waited. I just had oil change and a bulb changed in my rear taillight and I was there 1 1/2 hour and a guy came in after me and he was done and left I really thought it wasn’t very nice. I want one shop to have a relationship with and stop bouncing from place to place. Happy to say that I found my new mechanic.Needed work done on my 2014 Impala 2LT after it sat (not running) for a few months in my driveway. Dropped my car off on a Monday morning. Spoke with Mark initially, who was very friendly, easy to talk to, and flexed his listening skills. Mark also mentioned that they were pretty busy that day, so they might not be able to get to it that day. As I went in without an appt., I did expect this as a possibility, so there was no issue there. They were able to check it out that day after all.I expressed current concerns as well as what is needed in the near future to keep it in tip-top shape forever (110k miles - my next of kin has been informed that theyll need to pry that car from my cold, dead fingers before burying me in it) after a horrid experience with a local national chain shop by my old house. The national chain made me feel like a catastrophic mechanical failure was imminent if I didnt replace items X, Y, and Z that day.Received a link via text from Elsesser on Monday afternoon with a detailed description of necessary repairs and maintenance, complete with pictures and quotes. Gave the go-ahead via text, which was also really convenient since generally, during work hours, I cant answer my phone unless its an emergency.Paid over the phone so I could pick my car up after hours & set up an appt to bring my other car in for an oil change.In summary, if youre looking for a dependable and trustworthy mechanic, give Elsesser a chance to prove to you that you need not look further.

The shop manager came and walked me thru their findings which were that both brake pads/rotors, abs tires had life left and were not required to be changed. I really appreciated getting a full report of my vehicle in a digital form including photos of other things to address in the future. Very reasonable price for what I received! Will be coming back!

Although the problem was quickly diagnosed and fixed, about 15 miles down the road the problem returned. Tom had the truck picked up the next day, re-diagnosed and the other option that could cause the problem was quickly fixed and the the truck was promptly delivered back to my house. Comment: I took my 2004 Jeep wrangler in for a front end alignment after i had the front axle out over the winter doing upgrades. Tom and Adam were very professional at the counter and the tech did an excellent job. my Jeep has a 5 inch lift with 35 inch tires so it is not the idea job for an alignment tech. the steering wheel was 90 degrees off when I took it in. when i got the Jeep back it traveled straight down the road for over a 1/4 mile with your hand off the steering wheel, this is almost unheard of in a rig of this build. Great Job to the team !!!! i would recommend this crew for all your auto repair needs

Comment: My review is not based on the quality of work that Elsesser provides (although our mechanic strongly recommended them - so their quality must be high) but rather about the quality of their character. We had an unusual situation arise about halfway through a project that changed the scope of the work needing to be done but also changed the original economics of the decision to make repair. When given the option of sticking it to me or hurting himself, Adam chose to hurt himself.What this tells me is that this is a business that is true to their word, thinks long-term and sees issues from all perspectives. Comment: I never before had taken any of my vehicles to a shop due to having family and friends mechanically inclined who would do my automotive work for me. I recently had an issue with my car that was beyond what my friends and family could help me repair. That being said this was my first ever experience with taking my vehicle to a shop. Elsessers did an amazing job. Not only did they allow me to use one of their complimentary loaner vehicles to get to work while my car was being repaired, but they also had my vehicle fixed in a day and a half. Tom who works their front desk has wonderful customer service skills. He made an effort to keep in touch, always had a positive attitude, is honest, and most importantly answered every question I had in detail to ensure I understood the issues and my options. I will for sure be utilizing their services in the future if needed.

The mechanic did a fantastic job and kept me informed through the whole process. When I then had another issue with the vehicle, they took care of me again. Comment: I travel from Flint to Lansing for work and back everyday, racking up a ton of miles on my poor little HHR. For the past year and a half I have struggled to find somewhere to get my maintenance work done at, until I found Elsessers! When I walked in, they were already closed, but the kind man took care of my vehicle anyways whilst whistling along to the radio. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with what other maintenance work I needed in the near future, and things that I should keep an eye on over the winter (without being pushy like other places can be). Comment: I went to Elsessers after my former mechanic moved out of town. I basically picked them off the internet and got lucky. Great people, great service, and Im happy that I found a local place to take my car for maintenance and repairs.Side note, use caution if you take your car to a dealership. They are into sales. They will say your car needs replaced or they will sell you a laundry list of repairs that are not needed or frankly dont need to be done. You dont have to worry about that with a local independent auto repair shop that you can trust. They arent in the business of selling cars, and you loyalty is far more important to them than selling unnecessary repairs.

Comment: I called around to a few different auto repair shops prior to choosing Elsessers. The reason why I chose them is because they were up front, honest, and wanted to ensure I was getting what I needed completed rather than throwing money at possibilities. They did a diagnostic of my vehicle and informed me of the findings, then offered options for the repair process with much detail. Even offered a loaner while my vehicle was being worked on! When an issue arose and something was found during the repair they had a updated price quote if I were to do the needed repairs for the additional repair (which I chose to do based on the information and knowledge given). Upon completing the repairs they went over everything again with me as well as have a final price. I am satisfied with their work and feel they offer great workmanship on any vehicle issues one may have! I will most certainly be coming back again with my vehicles.Lastly, I would like to say thank you for the hard work and honesty that was presented to me. Its a rare trait to have in business

Comment: Adam and the team at Elsessers was fantastic. We dropped my wife’s Jeep off. We had a detailed quote ready quickly, the work was done quickly and the car was ready quickly. When we picked the Jeep up we noticed one of the tires pressures was still off. Took it right back and Adam fixed the problem quickly at no extra charge. Comment: I was in a real bind, traveling across the state when I had my serpentine belt snap. That was just the start of my problems, because my A/C compressor had failed and caused the mayhem. I broke down in the right place, as the amazing team at Elsessers came to the rescue! They located the parts I needed, and had me back on the road in three hours. This could have been a major catastrophe, but the unfortunate story ended well, and I was able to finish my trip. I cannot say enough good things about the attention I received, especially due to the circumstances surrounding my trip (to see my father in the hospital). Comment: Have had work done here several times and everything has went great. They check on ways to save you money and complete the work very quickly. Definitely recommend.Had all new suspension and brakes put on two cars with over 100k miles, as well as having them look for anything that might need to be replaced in order to get the most out of the vehicles and they did not try to upsell me on anything I couldnt agree with. They replaced a leaking line for a small addutional charge which is great.

Comment: I recently had to take my car to a business for a repair beyond anything I could fix myself. I was VERY nervous about that. I had to find something close since I did not want to drive my car that far. I found this establishment through a Google search. I received same day service, they fixed the problem, and charged me less than the average cost in this area for that type of repair (Which I checked on after the fact to make sure I didnt get ripped off before writing this review). I would definitely take my vehicles there again for repairs.

Comment: Gas strap broke on gas tank, on our way out of town for a wedding. I called and asked if he can get me in a half an hour before closing. Comment: Adams always jammed me in to his hectic schedule, fixed the problem, and had me out at the promised time. Thats the customer service that kept me going back. Most recently he offered to do the same thing again when my truck broke down, but this time my rear brake caliper locked up on the way to drop the truck off to him. Not only did he manage to do my original repair, but he jammed in a last second rear brake job, surprised me with a much needed tire rotation, and STILL returned my truck to me on time. Thats the customer service that drove me to write a review!
