Comment: 1/8/24 I have been using Dykstra Auto (Stauffer/44th) for my 2014 Tuscan as my repair company since the Pandemic. This business is top-notch. The staff is always courteous, professional, knowledgeable and patient. The repair managers listen carefully and always give me an idea re: possible solutions, time frame for repair and approximate cost. If they can fix it quickly with no cost they do! They will order parts and keep me aware of the repair progress. They returned my phone calls promptly. I am always highly satisfied with my repairs. I have used them for small and big repair projects. Their prices are very reasonable. They run repair specials and give a discount to Veterans. I highly recommend this business.

Dykstras did a thorough inspection, replaced my battery, advised me on when to replace my transmission fluid, and most importantly: discovered a hole in my radiator! I was deeply grateful for Dykstras flexibility to order and replace my radiator the same day. I am so grateful this issue was discovered in a shop vs. on the side of a highway with my engine overheating. I am also grateful for Dykstras shuttle service, particularly a super friendly and knowledgeable driver named Mason, which allowed me to work from home while work was done on my car.

Comment: Just moved my family from Kansas City last month. My wife’s car died last week and we were down to one vehicle the week school and sports start…. Excellent timing. The silver lining is the opportunity, as bumming as it is… of a broken car introduced me to, what will now be, our auto mechanic while we live in Grand Rapids. I have lived in 5 different states and try and do most if not all my auto repairs myself. I always feel like I am getting pushed to fix something that isn’t broken or feel I am getting charged more than I should. That is NOT! The case with Dykstras. Super friendly, assisted from star to finish, helping me find a good tow to getting it there, to assisting with taking payment and dropping the keys in there drop box so we could get the vehicle after business hours. Super friendly staff, and their summary report of what is good , so-so, and what needs attention, is amazing. It organizes the items, summarizes the inspections and what was found, and suggests and repairs or when repairs would be Likely. Many thanks to Mitch for checking for codes (at no cost) and verifying that nothing was wrong other than a needed reset.Mitch is also awesome about consultations. I used an instant oil change service because I needed a weekend opening. The oil change service recommended that I have my transmission serviced. When I consulted Mitch, whom I trust implicitly, he said servicing the transmission would likely do more harm than good. I will let oil change services do what they do, and will trust Dykstras Auto with everything (and I do mean everything) else.

The staff was very kind and professional in dealing with my short-notice appointment rescheduling and got me in the next day. They gave me a ride home so I could work and were very helpful in explaining the problem that they found and what brake repairs would be needed. They explained a few different options and after I talked to my daughter and let them know how to proceed, they got everything fixed in a good time frame. They were very courteous and my final bill ended up about $100 less than they originally quoted as they added some additional discounts. I fully recommend them to anyone and will be taking my other cars there for any work I need.

They were not wrong. I’ve been working with Ethan, and he always goes above and beyond to communicate everything going on. Full transparency, which was something important to me in finding a repair place. He also tries to find the best deals for whatever is going on, really does his “due diligence”. The service has been great, as well. I have taken my car to three places for the same problem (and it was never fixed) before going to Dykstra’s in Kentwood. After my first visit, they addressed multiple issues and effectively fixed those issues. I cannot recommend Dykstra’s of Kentwood enough!Thanks again, Ethan!

They noticed I was going to walk home while dropping off my vehicle and gave me a free ride home. They looked at the issues and gave me their honest opinion and even provided pictures of what they saw! They didn’t have a somebody that could take me home while they worked on my car so they offered a loaner instead, which was great! I love how I was treated like a normal person, because I often am treated differently and like I know nothing about cars since I’m a woman. I recently had my car stolen and when it was recovered I took it to Dykstra’s for the mechanical issues the thief caused. Without even being paid, the guys at Dykstra’s let me keep my car in their lot, worked with my rather petty insurance company, and took time out of their day to call and bag on my insurance company when they towed my car without my knowledge. Ken gave me tips on how to deal with insurance companies like mine and even printed out CarFax pages of my car’s model to help me get a better price on it from the insurance company. Comment: I had been quoted around $500-600 for getting brakes, rotors and brake calipers because mine kept sticking. Dykstra was actually the last place on my list to call, for the only reason being I had not heard of them. Over the phone they told me it sounded like bushings, not a caliper and that would save money. I work less than a mile away, so they actually sent someone out to drop off a van and keys to me, drove my car to the shop and did a free inspection. Turns out is was the bushings, and for sure the pads and rotors were shot, so it was going to be MUCH less than the $500-600 that other places were saying. Their total was truly over the amount I had available, but not by much. I was honest and said I have exactly this amount in my bank account. I can do that and pay the rest Friday. They went with a little lower pads and applied loyalty coupons to knock it down to what I could afford that day. I have never had a place that professional and easy to work with. I would truly go back here any time I needed work done before trying anywhere else.

Comment: Mitch and his team members at the Stauffer Ave Dykstras are amazing. I have bounced back and forth between other mechanics but I will be going to this Dykstras exclusively for the foreseeable future! Mitch was so friendly and courteous! He called me several times while my car was being worked on to give me updates and was always ready to answer every single one of my questions. I requested a loaner vehicle while mine was being serviced and the vehicle they gave me was clean and in great shape. I used their shuttle service to pick me up from my house so that I could grab the loaner vehicle and Dewey (the mechanic who picked me up) was kind and personable. I was pretty impressed with the electronic report they emailed to me on my vehicle (pictures included!) and how easy it was to apply for financing online. I am completely and totally satisfied with my service here and highly recommend them!

Comment: Dykstra on 4450 Stauffer is amazing. Over the past 2 years I have been to 9 car shops and I have never received such great customer service like at Dkystra. They found out what was wrong with my Jeep Wrangler which was having problems with its neutral safety switch. The car wasn’t recognizing when it was in park which would caused it not to start.Dykstra fixed the problem for an affordable and fair price. I really appreciate this shop because they demonstrated a sense of integrity, humility, and good stewardship. Good business-ship is very hard to come by. Dykstra on stauffer is bringing good business-ship back!
