Comment: We went to Ds Automotive for a transmission check. They were very clear about what it would entail. First they would do a detailed inspection of the vehicle and its systems relating to the problem. There was a fixed price for this. We agreed. Ds called us with the results and explained the issues that needed to be addressed. We asked them to go ahead with the work. We were happy to hear that the transmission was okay. They found the cause of, and fixed, a long-standing engine light indicator. It was a problem with the fuel system. They also discovered two minor issues with the coolant system. Also fixed. Our 2015 Colorado now runs better than it ever has and we bought it new from the Chevy dealer. They will be doing all of our repair work from now on.

Comment: WOW! I am very impressed with the professionalism, communication and quality work at D’s. I have a 2018 Ford Explorer that suddenly needed a new transmission. The guys worked hard to make sure my husband and I were not stuck paying the whole bill. They reached out to the 3rd party warranty company and handled everything! Oh and D’s gave me a rental car for the entire time my car was in the shop which was every bit of 2 weeks!! THANK YOU Daris, Donovan and every other worker there!!

They were kind and helpful by explaining everything in detail to help me understand what my next steps have to be. They also gave us a car to drive while waiting. Comment: Brought my 2019 Chevy Silverado to them to get looked at for a power steering issue. Turned out my battery shorted out some electrical systems. After parts came in and they swapped the old w the new, there was still the same issue. Andrew they’re shop foreman, further investigated, and found that yes the battery had corrosion which lead to the short to my electrical, but really found that the ground wires in the rear of the truck were extremely corroded and ruined. As a team they brainstormed the issues and it turned out, that the battery shorted out the trailer brake modular. Mix that with the corrosion on the grounds along w the bad battery and trailer brake issue, the electrical system was sending bad signals to alot of my driving functions. They fixed they problem and it actually was cheaper by a long shot on what we originally discussed! They actually did the job in a fair enough time too, bc if you didn’t know, an electrical issue on newer vehicles can be a shot in the dark! Honest men and a very trustworthy auto shop, highly recommended!

He even offered to put me in touch with one of his contacts to purchase another transmission if this one was too far gone. I asked this auto shop to look over the used vehicle as a pre-inspection to me driving down to look at the vehicle in person. The technician that I spoke with did a visual and in-person inspection of the car for me and saved me hours of driving! During a trip from Traverse City to Chicago to visit our daughter, we had an issue with our van that had the feel/potential to end our trip and/or strand us. We found them online, located near our freeway exit, called and asked for help at closing time on Friday. They kindly took us in, quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem, and sent us on our way. It felt like the entire business stuck around for a bit that afternoon to make sure we were ok. The rest of the trip was issue free, and over the weekend we remarked to each other how amazing it was to randomly run into a small business full of kind, capable, and honorable folks. Comment: We have been using D’s auto for roughly two years now! We take any used car we buy to D’s to have it inspected prior to purchase, so far so good on both cars just need basic maintenance! My Honda has needed quite a few repairs in the past few years, and D’s is always up front and honest with me about repairs. They let me know what needs to be replaced asap and what can wait. They also don’t push you to repair anything just to make a sale. They stand by their work. We happily will continue to take our cars to D’s auto even when their shop is 30 minutes from our home. I’ve tried to find closer mechanics, but we always find our way back to D’s.

Comment: I have been to Ds for three repairs and an oil change. The employees are friendly and take time to explain what the vehicle needs. It has been convenient to drop the vehicle off and get a ride from a Ds employee or get a loaner vehicle.I also trust the folks at Ds to be honest. Recently, a tire-only retailer told me my wheels were so corroded I needed $800 of new wheels. I asked Ds for a quote and was told they could clean and reseal the wheels for less than $100 and theyd be good for a long time. I didnt even know that was an option, and they suggested it when I asked about a more expensive repair. Very pleased with their work so far!Edit to add: Still very happy with Ds. They take the time to answer questions without making me feel dumb, and I never feel pressured into authorizing more work. But they make sure I know what might need attention soon. They did make a mistake on a repair to my husbands car, but when it was noticed, they admitted fault and covered the fix. I admire that honesty and accountability! We will continue to use Ds.

Comment: They did a great job repairing my 2018 Ford Taurus. Had an electrical issue with the safety module causing a faulty start with remote start and not unlocking the shifter. They quickly were able to troubleshoot the safety module code, reset the module and then find the wiring issue under the dash that cause it to happen. Communicated the work done thoroughly and had it done in a very timely manner. They were able to get my car fixed weeks before a dealer could even have it in to be looked at, am very pleased with the work done.

Comment: D’s auto and truck repair did an outstanding job trouble shooting my electrical issue on my 2014 RAM. I explained the issue and they knew exactly where to start troubleshooting and tested the major electrical components involved with the possible issue. I called and explained the issue and that I was heading back in a week. They said bring it in and they would do their best.After checking my truck out, they called to let me know the transmission was shot, the radiator had a leak and the driveshaft needed to be rebuilt. Comment: The transmission in my 06 Jeep Commander seemed to not be operating as it should, causing a kind of shudder at lower speeds that felt like an engine miss. After trying to diagnose the issue at three other shops, only Ds was able to determine that a powertrain control module TSB update was never done. They programmed the software update and now its shifting properly and Im happy. Comment: I had previously taken a work truck here, then two of my co-workers had taken their personal vehicles here, so I had already felt comfortable with bringing my personal vehicle in. I had a check engine light come on, then had a performance issue while driving. I called Ds from the road and described my issue. They said they didnt have a specific appointment available for a a couple days, but they did have a loaner vehicle available so if I could drop off my car and leave it while I used the loaner, they could likely work my car in between appointment jobs. They did exactly that, performing a thorough inspection of my vehicle and identifying the likely issue while also informing me of everything their inspection noted. They were very clear that there was no pressure to do any of the things noted, but they were just there so I could make informed decisions about next steps. They send a list of the items, so you can approve additional work if youd like to. I very much appreciated that. Once they did the approved work, they test drove my vehicle again and found they were able to duplicate the issue that I originally reported, then made an additional recommendation based on the live code found on their monitoring equipment. They were friendly, professional, thorough, and honest. I had trusted shop for years in the city I had moved from and now I finally feel like Ive found a trusted local mechanic in my new town!

Comment: I have used D’s auto for my 2010 Ford F-150 and my girlfriends 2010 Lincoln MKX I brought them in with separate issues along with a overall inspection of the vehicles and not only did they accurately diagnose the issues I had and fix it right the first time, they are very honest and thorough with the overall inspection and aren’t pushy when it comes to other issues they found with my vehicles. Comment: I was looking for a auto mechanic shop when I received a flyer in the mail with a coupon included. I worked with Donovan, nice guy and easy to work with. I was able to explain what services my vehicle needed and get some items quoted, even prior to bringing my vehicle in (this helped me get a rough idea as to what I might be paying). They offer loaner vehicles to customers which was a nice benefit. I took advantage of that, all they ask is the cars are returned with a full tank. They inspected my car and there were some additional services that they discovered my vehicle needed, however they did not pressure me into doing them all. They provided me a list of all the line items, service costs/part costs, and informed me of which items they believed were the most important. This was a nice option as it allowed me to see it all at a quick glance and select the services that I wanted to have done immediately and which ones I could save for antoher visit. Overall satisfied with the services, pricing is comparable to local car dealer prices.

Comment: We had a van with a bad transmission and brought it Ds for a quote. They looked over the van and called me back with a fair price. Drew also took the time to go over a list of other items that were problems or were known problems with the make and model of our van. I was probably on the phone with Drew for about 25 minutes as he went over every option to help us make the best informed decision. We ended up not having the transmission fixed due to the number of other issues. I appreciate the time spent on the phone and how thorough they were going over the vehicle. We ended up using them to go through a used vehicle before we purchased it, to make sure they didnt have any hidden issues. I highly recommend.

Comment: Im new to Zeeland, and so am looking for a new auto service shop. Id gotten a mailer from Ds, and since I needed some help getting a rusty license plate bolt liberated, I called them for an idea of their cost and availability.Drew, one of the service advisors, levelled with me that it would be hard to quote without seeing the problem, but guessed it would take between 30 - 90 minutes, and would be priced accordingly. That seemed like an honest answer, and so I decided I should just jump in and get it done.Once I arrived, Drew offered to have his team give the car a good looking over for other possible service items, and I agreed. Later that day he called me with what theyd found and we went through the list of possible action items they could take.In the end, I approved about half of them, especially the replacement of a leaking front strut and an alignment after the work was completed.When I picked up the car and drove home, I could tell the difference in how tight and smooth the steering was, and called them to thank them.After the service, I noticed the sound system wasnt working, and needed a code update. I called them and immediately they helped me over the phone with resetting the code. All good!Three days after the service they followed up to see whether the car had behaved well during my 500-mile trip over the weekend. Indeed it had. I appreciated their checking.

He is extremely knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right and get it done right the first time. I brought my 2008 F-350 to them on a Monday after being missed diagnosed from another shop. Daris and his crew were quickly able to diagnose the problem. Not only did they find the source of the problem that I brought it there fore they were allso able to quickly find other issues as well. Daris and his team definitely put in their blood, sweat and O.T. to make sure that my truck was done by the deadline promised.

Comment: The staff was friendly, responsive, thorough and professional. I was able to get my vehicle diagnosed within a day of my initial call, which I really appreciated. Repairs took about 3 days to complete, and I had to check in on the completion estimates of the repairs once or twice. To be fair, it appeared they were in an extra busy spell, and my vehicle needed a number of repairs all at the same time. They are very thorough, and will give you a list of options on basically all possible repairs. You can choose which of the repairs you want, and I did not feel like they were selling me repairs I didn’t need, just providing options. Pricing seemed to be a bit high, but I’m thinking the services provided, and the complete vehicle look-over are worth the price. All in all, I was happy with my experience, and appreciated they got the repairs I needed done in the same week I called. Other shops in town are setting appointments further out, and would recommend D’s.

Changed my plugs, cleaned out my coolant after their recommendation seeing how I have 199,000 miles glad I did. Picked up my car from work and left me a loaner cant get much better than that. Comment: Just got my old truck serviced at D’s. They replaced the rusty leaking brake lines. Replaced the leaking battery. Replaced the worn tie rod and welded the exhaust pipe to muffler. On the day that the car was going to be finished the shipment with necessary items was delayed. but Ben said I promised you that we would get it done, so we are staying late and we are getting it done. It is nice (refreshing, actually) to see this level of dedication. I was half expecting a phone call to let me know they wouldnt be able to finish it as something (out of their hands) delayed the process with almost half a day. Comment: There isn’t a scarier feeling then when you are driving far from home and something goes wrong. There’s a knock or a ping or a hesitation but something is definitely not right. So usually at this point my heart starts to race. Anxiety takes over and I start worrying that the world is over. Cause you just know that there is NO WAY you are gonna find an honest mechanic or shop that looks at you as more than a dollar sign. Well that is exactly where I was last night. Luckily I found D’s transmission & auto tech! I decided I o call them in the morning and Ben answered the phone I told him of my problem and asked if they could fit me in today and he said sure. I drove to the shop and went in and spoke with them and did my best to describe what issues I was experiencing and they said ok they would look into it. Well within a short period of time they identified a problem then told me what it would cost to fix and explained it to me where I could understand then offered a loaner car to go get lunch as they got the part and repaired my vehicle. Which btw is a diesel and that usually means tons of money in repairs and down time. Well all I can say is what a great group of professionals who really believe in doing great work for an honest rate!!! Thank you D’s you have restored my belief in humanity!!! If you have mechanical issues please do yourself a favor and call this shop!!! My only complaint is they are very far from my home lol

Its actually been very beneficial to have car issues next door to a service place, as that saves me on towing! These guys always take great care. Their customer service is top notch. They are so helpful with every little questions I have, that its a no brainer Ill take any major repair to them. Im well taken care of whether I need a major repair, or just to borrow a tool. Ive seen them come out and try to help get a flat tire off one of my customers cars. They really do go above and beyond. Comment: Edit: Daris (Owner) called me and after speaking with him I will definitely consider returning to Ds in the future.Wheel bearing replacement performed 5/16/2017 and 5/17/2017. I pre-booked with an appointment.First time customer and initially I was encouraged by the friendliness of the staff. However, what seemed to be a quick inspection and repair turned into a two day fiasco with little to no communication.Day 1: I was called at 3:30 PM after having brought the car in first thing. I was apologized to for their delay and given a reason for it, but that did not change the fact that I was going to be without my vehicle a second day for a wheel bearing replacement and not because of any issues with my vehicle.Day 2: I called the shop twice in the afternoon to check-in. I was not called when the car was finished. I had to leave work early to pick up my vehicle and knowing when it was complete was important for that.The repair was done well, but the fact that despite having an appointment the repairs were delayed and the communication was lacking means I will consider another shop next time.
