Comment: I brought my vehicle here because it was making a noise. They got it in a bay within 10 minutes and 20 minutes later were able to tell me what the issue was along with something else they found. They let me know it wasnt something I needed to have done right away but eventually should be addressed. I appreciate the honesty instead of making it sound like it should be done immediately. My car was done within 24 hours and Don communicated everything with me. The staff was also friendly and easy to talk to. Honesty, good pricing, knowledgeable and nice = returning customer!

Comment: I had to get my brakes replaced last minute because they were completely shot and decided to go here because I saw the good reviews, and I must say I was not disappointed. Don was such a nice guy and made sure that I got in quick and was taken care of. If you need some work done on your vehicle, then I highly recommend this place. They are very honest, nice, and willing to do what they can to make sure you have a good experience. Again, I highly recommend it.

Comment: I have been taking my vehicle here for all repairs for the last 5 years. Don and his team put in alot of effort to make sure job gets done right. Don always gives you a call about what repairs/service you need to get fixed. Plus he gets most of his parts with lifetime warranty and if part has issues you just need to pay for labor to replace. Cant go wrong with going to an auto shop where the owner is there to also help his team and work on your vehicle too when needed!

We had a logical conversation about my vehicle use and whether the repairs were necessary. A number of the repairs werent even an issue. They were able to let me know what was urgent, what could be ignored and the implications. Dons Auto Repair was highly recommended by a few friends. Im glad to finally find a good mechanic.UPDATE: A few hours after I posted my review I got the mail. There was a nice hand written thank you note in the mail from Dons Auto Repair. Business done right. ;)

His fees seemed very fair as well. He also diagnosed a plethora of other issues I didnt even realize were present, and didnt charge me anything extra for the diagnosis. Thanks to Google reviews, and being treated like an actual person when I called Don’s shop, I brought my car in! They went above and beyond by not only replacing the issue under the hood and ordering a new gas cap for me, but for going to put some gas in my car just to make sure the problem was resolved. There’s nothing worse than knowing barely anyone in a new area and having car issues!! Thank you for treating me fairly!!

Comment: It’s so nice to finally find a really good mechanic that will always be completely honest with you and not over charge or take advantage. My vehicle has never ran better and the brake pads he uses last 3-4 times longer then the other shops. We were laughing the other day because I keep having them check the pads and every time they say they look good and there is never black residue around the rims. Couldn’t be happier with all the work they’ve done and the fair prices I’m always charged. So thankful for everything! He is super honest and will explain the things that are safety related and need to be done, those that may cost more if you wait and those that could be done but arent really necessary. Recently I had my car towed in because of a ear piercing noise. They found a small rock and only changed me $30! It could have been so much worse and most likely would have been had I taken it anywhere else. Most of all, he stands behind his work. So glad we found Dons Auto Repair!

Not comfortable I took the vehicle to Dons Auto Repair. $300 and 40 minutes later my vehicle was blasting very cold air and all the parts the other company said needed to be replaced were actually fine. Don has earned all my business going forward.

I called up Don and discussed the issue over the phone with him and he gave me some ideas of what the issue could be. I was able to bring the car in right away and within 15 minutes his mechanic had discovered the issue. I was charged a fair price and given an honest answer as to what was wrong with the windshield washers. I would definitely come back to Dons Auto Repair to have them work on my vehicles and would recommend them to others

I have used at least 10 mechanics over the years but really never have I been as completely happy with any of them as I am with Don.... He and I think along the same lines business wise... I, as with him, ended up working for myself because I could never seem to find that Company/Employer who constantly operated at the level of honesty and integrity that he and I both hold ourselves, and the services that we perform, up to... Don is straight up honest with everyone... He always takes the time to inform and show the customer just what is wrong with their car, always using consistant pricing guidlines... He is very sharp at what he does... The rare combination of Honesty, Intelligence, Intergrity, and friendliness, which is found at Dons Auto Repair, is unequal anywhere else in the area, Believe me, I have looked... I own 5 older cars and pretty much consistently need Dons services... I have never, in the ten years that I have known Don, known him to overcharge or attempt to sell something that I did not need, quite the contrary... He has always bent over backwards to make certain that I was always happy... In the time that I spend there waiting for repairs to be finished I overhear many situations and I have never heard Don lie or mislead anyone... He is always out front with everyone as far as I have always seen... I have however witnessed some customers attempt to cheat him but, he keeps solid repair records, even keeping computer notes of things that he told customers so not to make mistakes and to be certain that he keeps everything straight.... I recommend Dons Auto Repair to anyone who is tired of the old runaround, out of line prices, bad attitudes, and short cut repairs.... The work he did on both my cars (tow hitch package, battery, brakes) came with a nationwide warranty- which most shops Ive been to dont provide. Dons never tried to add-on anything I didnt really need and all of his work has held up perfectly without any problems. His prices are fair and consistently less expensive than the other guys. Comment: I live in West Michigan but was in the area and needed a car repair. I stopped at Dons Auto and got my car fixed. Upon cashing out, I was made aware of a warranty program that Don uses where you can be anywhere in the country and if you have a problem with something Don fixed you can call a 1800 number and they will send you to another certified auto repair center in the same program. My repair had a one year or 12,000 mile nationwide warranty! I cant find an honest place like this where I live!

Comment: I installed an alternator and new battery on my car, but it was continuing to have problems. I figured I had better take it to a guy who knows what hes doing to fix it for me.Having sent this car to 5 repair places including a dealer in the past 5 years for various problems I couldnt handle, but eventually disappointed with each one, I was looking for a new repair place, and called this place, which I drive by a lot.Don was honest with me that he thought I might have screwed up the alternator and got the wrong one and it wasnt working. I was adamant I didnt and the alternator couldnt be the problem because it was brand new.Turns out, he was more right than me.Dons expertise showed, and it actually WAS the alternator that was bad. However, it wasnt because I screwed up the part, it was just a bad alternator out of the box.He went above and beyond, finding the part number, calling OReillys, getting them to bring by a new part (it was guaranteed) and installing it for me for the price we agreed to on the phone just to figure out what was wrong. I think it was because it vexed him as much as it did me. Anyway, it was a very nice gesture.Also, I noticed he had certifications all over his wall, more than most mechanics who usually just have the ASE. Also he had a couch and cushions on all his chairs. That sounds like a dumb thing to find nice, but a lot of places seem to have gotten their chairs as a kind of torture device.

Comment: I dont know what a break job is but no wonder the people are confused.My experiences at Dons Auto Repair are all positive and while waiting for mycar to be finished, I listened to Don tell other customers that what they weretold to be a very expensive repair at another facility did not even need repair.Another time I heard him on the phone explain in plain English (not automotivelingo) what the problem was so that the person on the other end of the linecould understand.I had a huge problem with 3 tire pressure sensors on my car losing air. I went to thedealer who said the tires just need air. I went back to the dealer a secondtime and was told the problem was because it was cold outside. I thenwent to Dons Auto Repair and was told they needed to be replaced and thatit was a very common problem with tire pressure sensors. I went throughthis 3 different times with each tire pressure sensor.Who would you go back to the dealer or Dons Auto Repair?

Comment: My family has been taking our vehicles to Dons Auto Repair ever since the shop first opened about eight years ago. We consider it well worth the 50 minute drive for us to be able to take our cars to a mechanic we can trust. Our repair work has been excellent 100% of the time. On the one rare occasion a part failed, it was replaced and returned to the manufacturer without hassle and at no charge to us. Don always uses the highest quality part at the least expense to us. He would never try and sell us over priced parts or services which are not needed. He also wouldnt use an inferior part just to lower an estimate because I know our safety is a top priority at Dons Auto. I am comfortable sending my three teenage kids to service our vehicles there and am confident they are not being scammed. He always calls to authorize work and repairs are always explained well as to which jobs can wait and which jobs are a priority. I have also recommended Dons auto to friends and family who have been well satisfied. My father in Ohio, who is meticulous about his car care, has even saved repair jobs for Don when he comes to visit here. And as an added bonus, all of the staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. While in the waiting room, I noticed customers are remembered on a personal level and always treated with respect. I am never made to feel stupid when I explain problems. And the waiting area is very comfortable. like I said, I could go to many other auto repair shops that are closer to me, but I prefer to know that my mechanic is honest and trustworthy and does excellent work. To me, that is a rare find.

Comment: Don did a great job fixing my fuel pump. He is honest about what needs to be fixed. If you do need your brakes fixed, he will tell you for your own safety. If he doesnt think your car is worth the repair costs, he will tell you. His prices are very fair. The location is great too. The inside is kept much cleaner than other shops I have been to.
