Comment: The folks who don’t give this place 5 stars are on so many perc 30s it’s not even funny. I’m currently trying to figure out how to hack Google to give them a 6/5.I absolutely hate the car buying process and the repairs/maintenance that comes with it. It is a difficult and tedious task for me to find a place/person that I feel confident in when making such a commitment. I will scour reviews and websites and get any bit of information I can get but then I feel as if I can’t trust those sources either. So, if you’re someone like me and you get anxious/nervous when it’s time to take your car in to get looked at because you don’t know if you can truly trust the people you’re taking it to — This review is for you!I have been looking for a brand used car for 2 months. I have test driven 3 cars and brought all of them to these guys. Each time they work with me on timing (as long as you work with them, they work with you ten fold) and I watch what’s going on from the window and if Matt isn’t busy we have a good conversation about whatever we feel like talking about. After their inspection was complete they’d give me an incredibly detailed report and were unfathomably patient and eager to answer my many follow up questions. After each report I came away with a perfect sense of how good the brand used car actually was and what, if anything, the vehicle would need now or in the future.I have now made my purchase and brought it back (for my 4th overall visit) for them to repair an electrical issue with one of the aftermarket headlights (known issue that was discussed during the initial inspection a week ago).These guys are professional, knowledgeable, helpful, respectful, patient, fair, AND they have earned my complete trust and confidence in their work and their word. I got my inspections and work done at an amazing price, got an easy, stress free experience, and they got themselves a life long customer.Just bring your vehicle in and relax. You’re in honest hands at Dearborn Total Automotive.

Comment: This was my first time using Dearborn Total Automotive & it was by far the best experience I have ever had with a mechanic shop. The power steering went out in one of my vehicles & DTA was the closest shop to my home. Not only did they get my vehicle in right away, but they drove me home since they would need a couple days to fix it. They were so kind, explained everything very thorough, fair pricing, and it only ended up taking 1 full day. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my vehicle & being so awesome!

I have an uncommon vehicle and not only do they service quickly they also stand by their work to make sure that it was done right.Update! Just took a vehicle there that had a mystery noise. Frank worked diligently and truly went the extra mile to find and fix the issue. I have never had a mechanic who truly cared this much about serving their customers needs. During the week he reviewed multiple systems in order to determine the cause of the parts that needed replacing. He did all that he could and has earned all of my business for years to come. I am treated as more a friend than a customer. Service literally could not be better!Update!! under new management, the last manager that was there after Frank left was not trustworthy and I had decided not to return. But this weekend I had a car issues (electrical) and they were able to go above and beyond expectation. It was a simple repair but the current manager Mat restored my trust in the business. He said that he has only been there a few months but I hope he stays. Good guy and It looks like I will be returning to them in the future.

Comment: Im a bit slow to add this, a few weeks ago I took the car in for bad wheel hubs and a catastrophic failure of my driver side braking system. After my warranty covered what it could, I was left with a $800 bill. I provided a couple extra parts and Tony was generous enough to drop $300 off of the bill. They also got the car in quickly and fixed within a day. These guys did a fantastic job fixing my car. It handles smoother than when I originally bought it. I will definitely return to these guys in the future.

Frank was the only one who actually took the time to get all the information instead of trying to rush me off the phone.Once I took my car in, Frank told me exactly what they were going to do, gave me a choice on whether I wanted a remanufactured or dealer part, and let me know when the repair would be completed. Comment: I’m so pleased with my experience at Dearborn Total Automotive Plus, who repaired my air conditioning and fan earlier today. It conked out on me at the height of this week’s heat and humidity and I was desperate to have it fixed.I called at 8:30am which was when their listing said they were open and Frank answered the phone right away. Normally mechanics are not in when they say they will be so that was a nice surprise. He said to bring it over right away and they’d look at it.Frank is very pleasant and accommodating. When I told him my livelihood was dependent on my Ford Edge he said they’d do their best to have it ready by tomorrow. I was absolutely delighted to get a phone call a few hours later letting me know it was ready to go!The price was reasonable with no surprises. AND they offer financing which I love because I can’t be out of pocket.Something else I noticed and appreciated was that Frank identified a couple of issues about which I was already aware but need to wait a bit to have them fixed. He didn’t “invent” any issues, and I value that kind of honesty.Mike, who did the repairs, was friendly and helpful as well.I didn’t feel I was being treated differently because I’m a woman, and everyone kept it friendly and professional, treating me as a valued customer.The strong reviews reflect my experience with DTAP, and I intend to recommend them to anyone needing a good, reliable mechanic.I also REALLY appreciate that the premises don’t smell like an ashtray, which is so common at all of the downriver shops I’ve taken my cars to in the past. I called DTA and spoke to Frank, who was friendly, and told me to come up right away for a free diagnostics of my vehicle. I wasted no time as it is the holiday weekend— and Frank went above and beyond to help me take the next steps to fix my vehicle. He was kind, professional, and honest. This is a family owned business for about 100 years (I’d like to say I remember reading this in their lobby) and this will be my go-to location from now on. Comment: I own a 97 Camry , that needed an oil leak checked out. I called up there on a Wednesday to see if I would be able to drop my car off or make an appointment. I was told at first that they were pretty busy but could check my car out the next day. Due to my work schedule I wouldn’t be able to drop her off until the following Wednesday in that case. The man I spoke to said he didn’t want me to wait a week with a leak so to bring my car in that day, drop it off and they will take a look at some point that day.I dropped her off that day, yes her, my cars name is Beatrix. Dustin was the mechanic I worked with, checked the leak, did an oil change and fixed the brake line that blew while it was there, which I was very grateful for. I did have to bring her back the following week for them to rinse the engine off and see exactly where the leak was coming from, which they also replaced the timing belt during that visit. But for them to go above and beyond and fix other parts while she was there all at a reasonable price is amazing. They communicated everything they found, showed me what they were fixing and again all for a reasonable price, which is much appreciated after a bad experience I had during the summer at a different mechanic. I will continue to come here for any repairs my car will need!

Comment: Have an old V12 Mercedes-Benz and very few people would work on it including my mechanic of 18 years! I decided just do drive by this placr thats down the street just to check the price. Frank and the staff where full of smiles and eager to help. They saw my car and said no problem, and said they could complete it within 45 minutes. Frank was very knowledgeable, and true to form I was in and out with ice cold air. He thoroughly checked the air conditioning system, cleaning it out, lubricanting thr internals, before filling it. However; the best part was it cost me 60-65% less here then it would have cost at the few shops that would work on it. Will definitely be back, I trust them with any of my vehicles!

Comment: I got some work done on my 2008 Hyundai Veracruz. They replaced the rear drive shaft bushing, 4 bushing for rear axle and right rear hub assembly. It was a big job that took over 10 hours and it cost under a thousand dollars, less the half of what the Hyundai dealership wanted!!! (I had purchased the parts myself and they were willing to use them, no questions asked.) The job was done in a little over a day and they gave my son and I a ride home. I head a very positive experience and they gave me the best price possible for the work completed. I would recommend coming here as Frank and his crew are good, honest, hard working people and really look our for the interest of their customers.

Comment: My driver side window would not go up on my 2002 ford escape. Frank the manager told me to bring the vehicle right in. Bob began to work right on it. Having to take the cover off the door. Im thinking this could be costly, being electrical. Mr. Bob told that the electrical unit became unplugged. He reconnected the unit. The window works fine. Bob did a great job and only took approximately 40 minutes. Frank the manager only charged me only 45.00. Great price. Professional workmanship.

My niece told me to just go to Dearborn Total Automotive ,because she has taken a couple cars there and Frank had treated them well and did not try to sell them things on their car they didnt need. He was honest and very kind. So I took my car there and first met Kelly at the front desk who was very kind and cheerful. Then I met Frank who was also very kind. He had my car for a few days, because he took the time to figure out why it was stalling. It ended up being the back window wiper motor shorting out the car and stalling. He worked long hours on my car and was VERY reasonable on what he charged me. Frank also offered me a loaner car .When I picked up my car he wanted me to call him the next day to make sure everything was ok. Frank and his team went above and beyond to help me. I highly recommend Dearborn Total Automotive if you want to be treated well with affordable prices.

They diagnosed my problem very quickly and gave me a great price to have it done the right way. I did not want to wait at the shop, so they gave me a ride home so I could wait there. They noticed all the lights in my dashboard and fixed them one by one. Even the pesky check engine light went off ! They called me back when the repairs were complete and offered to pick me up. Frank and his staff are amazing people and absolutely know what the hell they are talking about. Very very KNOWLEDGEABLE and i really had no idea how important it was for an auto-repair shop to know their business until I unfortunately experienced how many auto repair shops are out there who care for nothing but their OWN pockets. Comment: I have had two excellent experiences now with Dearborn Total Automotive.My first one was with my mini van that had a power steering leak. Frank was able to diagnose the problem and had it fixed the same day! What great fast service! My second car was an older Trans Am that had a check engine light, vacuum leak, breaks were going, and was making a strange sound from the back of the car. Frank did a great job showing me every part that needed to be replaced and why. Cory was great at taking the car for a test drive and catching all that was wrong with it. He fixed all that was wrong with it and even got the wobble out of the steering wheel fixed! The car drives great now and stops even better then when I drove it off the dealer lot when I originally bought the car.Thanks so much for the great service you have provided for me. They are always fast, reliable and tell you detailed info about the part costs, etc. I have been in the shop and heard them trying to get a fair price for the cars they are working on, too. And they always can give you a ride back home or work, if you need, while car is there. They are always fast, the most Ive ever waited for a car was the next day at closing time. Other places Ive gone to, including dealerships, often keep the car for 2 or more days, sometimes before even getting to it, so I feel Dearborn Total Automotive respects my time. Also, Ive never had problems with any repairs, which include brakes, a starter, an oil leak, and others.
