Comment: This place is the best. In a Lincoln Park Facebook group, whenever someone asks for a good mechanic, Clints and one other place always get mentioned the most by far. I always went to the other place for years but after they referred me to another place for a coolant leak and was told it would cost 500, I went to Clints for a 2nd opinion. The other place misdiagnosed it and Clints fixed it for 120. A year later and I had another coolant leak. This time the other place tells me its a tube that the trans has to be dropped to repair, would cost at least 1,000, and the part might not even exist anymore(this is an issue on my vehicle model, they werent making it up, just mistaken). Went to Clints for a 2nd opinion again, it was the same issue as before. The leak was in a different spot but running down a line that made them think it was something else at the other place birth times. Clints warranties the part and charged 90 for labor.The other place is faster, Clints takes awhile to get in, but Im sticking with Clints from now on. Best to have things done right.

Comment: I visited him around the end of march he replaced my alternator for the lowest price my jaw dropped I was shock I was expecting well over $400 🥲 and on top of that I believe he said but don’t quote me there was a ground wire in my engine that was broke that was preventing my car from shifting out of first gear and he fixed that for free mind you all in the matter of a couple of days! He truly cares about his business, customers, and the cars he works on. A honest man 10/10 would recommend

Anyways had her car towed to Clints on a Tuesday and by Friday her car was up and running. She had another issue took it back on Wednesday and by Thursday had it back. I was having radio problems in my chrysler 200 when i got there he hooked it up to the computer but due to technology i have to take it to the dealership. He checked all my fuses to make sure they were not blown. I asked him how much and he was not going to charge me i gave something for his time. The main thing has been the pricing has been on the mark for them every time, lots of shops will round up or pad the labor these guys have been dead honest with me every time. I have three full service shops within a mile of me, I go out of my way to go to these guys and Im a diesel mechanic.

Comment: I try and do all of my own work but i needed help pressing out a ball joint. The ones u can rent at the auto parts store suck. Ive heard nothing but great things about this place, and since its so close to me, i figured id try it out.I was really impressed. The owner stopped ehat he was doing, so he could help me out real quick to have me in and outta there. I was there for prolly only 15 min. Didnt overcharge me.While i waited, another worker there was helping out another customer that walked in. I couldnt help but realize how honest and helpful he was to the other customer. I had already been there two hours waiting for oil change. Stated I needed tune-up but needed to due computer check to be sure, there was no other issue.

I had an emergency that left me stranded in the middle of the road, called a local towing company who was also very very good on service (City Towing, Lincoln Park) and had them drop the car there. This was after normal business hours, but Clint just so happened to be there, he was very understanding and flexible. Out of 4 times I have needed Clints services, I have NEVER had a bad experience. Ive referred my parents and everyone I can because he is truly as honest as it gets. His prices are more than fair and the quaility of his work is A1. Not to mention, its a local family run business, which Im a firm believer makes a difference from any chain or franchise. The turn around time is quick, quality of work is good, A1 customer service, and hes honest. What more could you ask for? Comment: A different shop in the neighborhood gave me a really high estimate to fix my car and told me that everything had to be done right away so a friend of mine referred me to Clint’s Auto for a second opinion. The first thing Clint said is that he didn’t want to see the estimate from the other place because he wanted to look at my car with fresh eyes. Clint’s estimate was much lower and he didn’t require me to get all of the repairs at once. Instead we took care of the safety concerns first and worked on the other stuff later. He thoroughly explained why the repairs were needed and even demonstrated how the parts are all supposed to work. Now my friends and family go to Clint as well. His wife also works at the shop and she is equally as awesome. Thanks for everything!
