Comment: I took my car to three different places before here, paid through the nose for diagnosis charges and fixes that didnt address the problem. The guys at Broadway auto took a look at what Id been told needed to be done next and said that didnt seem necessary, then they fixed the problem. They had the opportunity to do a bunch of expensive work and did the right thing instead. Ive only just returned home from their shop, car drives like a DREAM, but even if the same issue comes back, I have every confidence that the guys at Broadway will be able to fix it better and more cost effectively than anywhere else Ive gone. Everyone working here is friendly and seems competent, and its great to have a family business in town. After 35 years of living in Ann Arbor, I think I finally found MY auto-shop.

The staff is fantastic, service great, has good communication and are very willing to explain everything.When I stopped in right before the trip to get my oil change, they did a quick check of all the systems and found the breaks were nearly bad. Despite the late hour they took extra time to get it fixed.Id recommend this place to anyone looking to have work done on their car.

Comment: My daughter and I drove over Ann Arbor on a Saturday from Chicago to do a campus visit at Univ of Michigan. After walking around the Big House we drove over to get lunch at Zingermans and my car started hissing and the engine started smoking right when I parked. I found Broadway Auto from a Google search and called them. I believe the owner answered the phone and said he could look at the car even though it was Saturday afternoon and he even helped arrange a tow truck to take my car to the shop. Unfortunately for me the problem was more entailed than originally thought so I had to leave my car there over the weekend. The guys in the front were very helpful finding a rental car and finding transportation to get the rental so I could get back to Chicago.Monday morning I received a call saying they had worked on the car on Sunday (their day off) and it would be ready to pick up by lunch time. By the time I arrived the car was ready and the bill thankfully came in at the low end of the estimate.Exceptional customer service!! Based on my experience I would definitely recommend Broadway Auto to anyone needing auto repair and will definitely use them in the future if I need auto work done when in Ann Arbor.

Comment: I cannot say enough good things about Abe and his team!! Its like having a close family friend down the street who can help me. I initially came here to get the bumper on my roommates car replaced. He offered to do it for 25% less than an estimate I had from another shop. He was patient with me and transparent through the whole process! They did great work and had it done quickly. But thats not all... I recently bought my own used car and somehow accidentally engaged the parking brake. I spent a long time and several Google searches trying to figure out how to fix it, but the parking brake light and beeping would not stop. I drove over to the shop, and Abe immediately fixed it for me and taught me how to disengage the brake on my own if it happens again. And THEN when he saw on my dashboard that my tire pressure was low, he had someone fill all my tires for me! Didnt charge me anything; was just happy to help. They treat their customers like family! Ill definitely go back to Broadway Auto when I need anything else for my car.

These guys really delivered above and beyond what we could have hoped for! They helped us immediately, and even though they didn’t have a new tire in stock for us, they put our spare tire on and checked all of our tires to make sure we would be safe to drive home to northern Michigan. I called & Abe said to come down there & he could try to help me. I got there & he looked at my truck & said he can get me in shortly. Since I was almost 2 hours from home, he made some calls to get parts & it was a go. He made sure I was comfortable & kept me updated as parts arrived. Theyre fast, professional, fair, honest, and do great work. Abe and his team is great to work with.Broadway Auto and Abe have been excellent. Ive told my friends about him and the good work he does. He stands behind his work too and ensures that the problem is fixed correctly. I have never had to wait longer than a day to get my car back.On the whole, I couldnt recommend them more strongly. On Christmas eve, I desperately called around hoping I could find an auto shop to take my car in for an evaluation, however was told by a couple of them that I would have to come after Christmas or new year because their schedules were full. I was about to give up and accept that I may have to put on the spare and spend the holiday without a transportation, but my friend suggested me to give Broadway a call. I am glad I did. The owner heard my issue over the phone, and just said it was a small problem, and they could fix it right away. I really appreciated their flexibility and hard work. I got my car back that day, and was charged with a fair price. I am very satisfied with their service, and would recommend others to check it out.

Comment: They let you know what needs doing urgently (for safety) and what you can put off for a little while, but that is still important. They are competitively priced. I went there once and thought the price was expensive until I googled it and it turns out they were charging what you should.Almost 6 months ago, I had a big job done on my car that I left sitting for far too long and its still running strong.Edit: moving away now, but I was a regular customer for years. I recommend this place still.

In fact, I once took a vehicle to a dealership because of a warranty issue, and the dealership recommended 1.5k in additional repairs. I asked Broadway Auto about the same issues, and they said several were not a problem. Theyre very honest.

Comment: Update: The shop reached out to tell me about their 1-year nationwide warranty, since Im now living in another state. I called their warranty company, got the name of a nearby shop to go to, and took my car in. I appreciate Broadway Auto following up with me about this. Problem was fixed!Came in March to get my brakes checked. After spending over $700 on brakes and rotors, two weeks later my rear brakes started making a horrible loud noise whenever I accelerated, and I was afraid to drive my car at all. I was incredibly disappointed (and out of a lot of money).

Comment: I have been to SO many mechanics in the Ann Arbor area, and I have found that because people around here have money, they dont care what they spend fixing their vehicles. Places around here get 4 star reviews even though they are overpriced and tack on unnecessary additional repairs, simply because people dont know any better. That is NOT the case with Broadway Auto. I have never had a better auto care experience in this city!I have a car with a lot of problems. Id spend around $500 every other month fixing something or another on the thing. I was about fed up with all of the mechanics near me charging me for stuff I didnt need when I decided to take a chance on Broadway Auto. I am glad I did.The first time they took my car, I had just had it in a different shop, and these guys wanted like $4000 to fix a problem with the engine I didnt know I had. This was more than the value of the car, so I took it into Broadway Auto for a second opinion. They had it for a couple days, took apart the whole thing and couldnt find the issue the other place was talking about. I was amazed when they called. I asked if anything else was wrong with it that needed to be fixed. They said no. Sent it back with me free of charge. The fact that they werent looking for a way to make money off of me, even after they had my vehicle for several days and spent so many hours trying to figure out the problem really made me like these guys and feel like I could trust them.I brought my car back when it did start acting up again. They fixed up my problem in no time, and the price was the most reasonable I have ever paid. I didnt feel cheated or ripped off in any way. I had my fiance come here for a problem with his truck shortly after and they had his issue fixed up within a day, once again very affordable and quality work.I wont go anywhere else in Ann Arbor. If you want an honest mechanic with high quality work and reasonable prices, then you shouldnt either.

Comment: My 16 year old Toyota Camrys power steering failed. Car is my daughters, she is a 23 year old student at Michigan, i.e. many shops would have seen her as an easy mark. Broadway Auto Care DID NOT.The hose between the PS fluid reservoir and the PS pump had failed. The technician cut out the split section and reattached the hose, filled w PS fluid and she was on her way for less than $100. Initially I requested they replace both PS hoses however they opted not to do that as the high pressure hose was corroded where it connected to the rack and pinion cylinder and they were afraid the heat required to loosen the fitting might damage the rack and pinion.They turned down the opportunity to make significantly more money.Good call on their part. The permanent solution of replacing both hoses will be done later when she isnt in a time crunch for the car.

He found that my serpentine belt also needed replaced, and called me to let me know what they found. Naturally my reaction was of course they would find something else wrong, but when I came to pick up the vehicle they took the time to show me the damage and made sure I knew exactly what I was buying before they made the additional repair.Most mechanics can fix your vehicle, but very few put your interest first and dont push products that you dont need. That has NEVER happened to me here. In fact, on two separate occasions I dropped my car off for minor things and Abe fixed it at no charge! Broadway was incredibly friendly and well-priced. I didnt expect both the front and back brakes to need replacement, so when they called me with my quote, I asked for the additional superficial repairs not to be done as I couldnt really afford the additional expense. Despite my last minute change, they didnt bat an eye and were kind enough to do the additional repairs anyway. They were incredibly sweet, remembered who I was, and made the whole experience much less stressful. Its been a while and my brakes are still doing great. It caused damaged to the engine and the cost of the repair would come to over $2,500, almost what I paid for the car. That was obviously a huge disappointment, but Abe offered to test a new timing belt and see if that would possibly work in the current engine. It did not, which meant a new engine was needed.However considering that they also sell cars there too, he was cool enough to not charge me ANYTHING for the new timing belt and labor, and bought the car off of me too, for $150 and a free oil change next time I come in.Considering that I trust him and appreciate the time and consideration he gave me with the last car, I just took a car I found online to be quickly inspected before I might buy it. Comment: I have been looking for a mechanic I am comfortable with and trust in Ann Arbor for about 3-4 years, I ended up going to Firestone for maintenance; however, after having a lot of bad luck, my boyfriend I ended up at Broadway auto for service. In short: My battery died, my boyfriends car ended up having a pipe burst in the process of jump starting my car. This all occurred around 3pm, we walked over to Broadway automotive around 4pm , the owner was nice enough to squeeze in one car for the night. The crew had to stay after closing time to get the repair done, but we were able to have some transportation home for ourselves and our dog that night. The next day I was able to get my battery replaced and received the same amazing service we had the previous day. I am extremely satisfied with the customer service and the flexibility of the Broadway crew and its management. Needless to say.... I will be taking my future car repairs to Broadway.

Comment: I bought my car 5 months ago and wanted to wait to review to make sure everything was okay for the first 6 months. (Im early)Let me start by saying the customer service was excellent, they were so patient especially because I had a very complicated situation and they worked with me.The lighting in the radio had gone out and Abe replaced it for me!I had the car inspected prior to purchasing it and was told there was absolutely nothing wrong.Then I had it inspected after I purchased it and was told the front and back roders needed to be replaced. (Price was too high)Then I took it to another place (Ford-The manufacture) and they inspected it and told me only my back roders needed to be replaced and the oil was dirty.So they fixed at a good price and I was satisfied with the work.Overall the car has been running well, I have heat and air. I brought my car in two weeks ago and had 2 tires replaced and they offer first time customers a 7% discount.Today I had my front and rear brakes replaced and they gave me a good deal.I always stress always about car service because I often feel people are overcharging or trying to take advantage of me because I dont know much about cars (but I always do my research and ask around).They explained their recommendations and did not pressure me to get any services done.I am so happy that I found this place and I will be coming back here for routine maintenance!

I was out of town over July 4th weekend and got back the morning of the 5th to find that the clutch of my 2000 Honda CRV with 280k miles wasnt allowing me to shift gears. The car would start but the shifter was stuck in neutral and the clutch had about 20% normal resistance. To complicate things I had checked out of my apartment 4 days prior in preparation for an upcoming cross country move (in the CRV- probably not the best idea with that many miles) and I also had a flight leaving from Chicago on the afternoon of the 7th for which I needed the CRV to function. I explained the situation to these guys, got the car to them the afternoon of the 5th and they diagnosed it by the end of the day. Basically the clutch needed replacement and they had to order parts. I was concerned it wouldnt be done in time for the flight and expressed this to them and even offered extra money to expedite the process. I spoke with the owner on the phone and he wouldnt take extra money. He said hed make my case a priority because it was the right thing to do. I picked up my car on the afternoon of the 6th and it drove perfectly. They did a safety inspection too as Ill be driving cross country when I return. They gave the car a clean bill of health! Ive never before worked with such efficient, ethical, professional, skilled, and personable mechanics in my life. I would recommend these guys to everybody!

Several times they have stayed late to finish work on my car. One time my car needed a jump-start after a snowstorm. I walked to Broadway Auto and a guy drove to my lot and jump-started it for free. Since then I have brought the car back multiple times. Every time they have made an effort to explain to me what was wrong with the vehicle, why this particular part needed to be replaced, and if they saw something that would be an issue in the next few months they always made a point to inform me. Comment: Last year, I needed repairs on my bumper, and went to Broadway on the advice of a friend. They gave me a new, freshly-painted bumper for a fraction of the price offered anywhere else, and a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty. Eleven months later, I had a problem with the plastic cover for the bottom of my bumper, so I took the receipt for the earlier repair, and asked them to take a look. Sure enough, they took my car the same day, looked under the bumper, repaired the broken part without charge, and gave me a new 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty. Very highly recommended!

Comment: Broadway Auto recently helped me out more than I can say. On the way from Chicago my VW Passat overheated (even though I had just been to a Jiffy Lube to get my oil changed the day prior and coolant topped off). After towing it to AA, I called Broadway Auto when they first opened on Saturday at 9 am. I was greeted with a warm voice on the other end who assured me I could bring it right over. They assessed my car while I had breakfast across the street and when I came back, although the news was new timing belts I was happy because no other mechanic had educated me on this 100,000 mile repair.The owner was there with his son and assured me that the parts would be ordered and there by 1 oclock that day, full repairs done by 5 so I could drive back for work on Monday in Chicago. If you are a VW owner you know how rare it is to not only get a good estimate, but find a place that will do the work in a timely fashion. They were amazing, went over everything with me line-by-line and even gave me a UofM student discount. I felt comfortable, taken care of and got some great education on keeping my car running. They took the time to explain everything which I appreciated.Sure enough the owner himself called me when the repairs were done at 5 oclock and even stayed later after hours to help me out.HIGHLY recommended. Dealing with car issues is not easy, and talking finances is even harder. They are fair, efficient and truly customer-oriented.

Comment: UPDATE: I went to Broadway Auto Care again recently, this time for a flat tire. They patched the tire, saving me from having to buy a new one (which is what I expected). The whole thing took about an hour. Two days later I had to do a 350-mile trip -- the tire held up. I couldnt be happier with their service. ORIGINAL POST: I came in for an oil change and was very pleased with the service. They took me in right away and told me it would be about a half hour. A friend and I went and got something to eat, came back a half hour later, and sure enough, the car was ready. There were no unexpected charges or fees, and everyone was polite and professional. I would recommend this place to friends.

Comment: I am very happy with the service that they provided me. This is my first time having my car fixed at Broadway. Initially it was the reasonable price that attract me to give them a try (You might not be able to find as competitive price quote around the area). At the end of the service, I am not only very satisfied on the job and effort they have put into my car but also well worth the money I spent. One thing I also like about them is they are very honest. They will show you the exact price of the parts online and give you additional discount on it. Not only that, the mechanics working there are also very responsible. Long story short, I have to return to the shop again for one of the work they have done and they are very welcoming and respectful. I also get to talk directly to the mechanic about the issue and he is really nice about it and promise to fix the issue free of charge. Its not easy to find trustworthy Autocare that really care for their customers. I will definitely come back here again and strongly recommend Broadway Auto Care to everyone who wants to have a trustworthy mechanic and has tight budget like me.

Comment: Came in to get a headlap bulb replaced, after trying on my own and failing. I even broke clips on my fender in trying to replace the bulb myself! They told me to come in when I called, said it would only be $10 to install the bulb I already had. They took care of me the minute I drove in and installed the bulb and replaced the clips within about 15-20 minutes. I was charged exactly what he said - $10. I was amazed since they still replaced the clips I broke, and clearly did that for free. They are great, I was highly impressed!

Comment: My engine recently over-heated due to a failed water pump. I originally had it towed to a Big-Name auto-repair shop that quoted me more than twice what Broadway took care of it for. I am a recent college graduate and couldnt come close to affording my original quote. When I called Broadway with my concerns, he immediately reassured me he could do the work for half the price. It took them less than a day and I got my car back and it is working beautifully. They even re-filled my wiper fluid for me! Broadway Auto Care has a life-long customer in me. Comment: This is a nice, family-run business that goes above and beyond for its customers. My front drivers side tire kept losing air, and none of the three auto shops I took it to could tell me why. The tire was fine. I took it to Broadway Auto Care, and Abe told me that the rim is broken. He found a used rim for me in Detroit, and, because they would not deliver it, he actually drove all the way there to pick it up. He only charged me 20 bucks for the labor. I have been going there consistently for the past 7 years, and they have always done a good job with my car.
