Comment: Autohaus sales and service team are outstanding!My 2014 Audi Q5 needed a timing chain, water pump, and bearings in the front wheels. Very expensive repairs! However, when I purchased the vehicle, I purchased the extended warranty as advised. Best decision I could have made. It covered 75% of the repair costs and now my car looks great and drives like a dream! In addition, Autohaus staff drove me to Enterprise car rental where I received a discounted rate from Autohaus. Upon completion of repairs, I was able to drop the rental off at Autohaus and my car warranty permits full reimbursement! Great service experience. Thank you Autohaus!!!

Comment: The service was amazing and the communication even better. I have a 2011 VW Touareg Hybrid, and needed my heat fixed, as it had stopped working as soon as the weather started getting cold. They made sure I knew everything that was happening and speedy with the repair. They even fixed something that I hadn’t asked them to fix but was so happy they did. I have a couple more repairs that need to be done and will definitely be coming here.

Comment: 2018 Porsche repair. Went to local Porsche dealer and won’t be going back after Autohaus did the repair for about 33% less $$ and got my car back the same day. These guys rock. Comment: I own a Mercedes GLC300 and I had an issue where it lacked acceleration, especially at higher speeds. I tried Autohaus for the first time (I normally take it to a Mercedes Dealer) and they were fantastic! It turned out that I needed (1) part of an overall turbocharger assembly. If I had taken it to a Mercedes Dealer my only option would have been to purchase the entire unit ($4k + labor) versus a small fraction of that. I was so impressed that they were able to find an affordable option in a timely manner. They have earned my business as long as I own this Mercedes. Thank you and well done!

After a certain VW dealership in the area provided me with deplorable customer service & quoted me $4,000 for a fix (that I didn’t even end up needing), a friend recommended I get a second opinion at Autohaus. Adam took great care of my Jetta and explained everything that they were looking for and what they were doing to fix it. Walked out paying under $200 and with thorough paperwork outlining their diagnostic process. It’s hard to find an honest mechanic, so I’m glad they’re close to home!

Comment: Ladies, let me be the first to tell you it’s A-OK!!Of course we know women get taken advantage of almost every time they go to the mechanic! It’s one of the scariest things to do next to taking your son to the barbershop.Adam was such a big help. I mean I didn’t worry about anything... at first! I brought my GLK350 in for misfiring. I had a diagnostic done at Auto Zone prior so I had an idea of what I needed. I called Thursday morning and unfortunately couldn’t drop my car off until Tuesday (highly dislike that part).Tuesday arrived and I dropped my vehicle off. At the time the check engine light was out but because I had that diagnostic I still knew I needed to have the coil changed in station 6. I got the call about 4:30 that my vehicle was complete ! I had to pick up during off hours!They do provide online payments for after hours pick up which is great. The after hours area is tucked but easy to locate with instructions.Now my check engine light came back on! It was extremely easy to reach them for them to try and root cause the issue. After checking and looking nothing was found but they still kept things open if I needed to come backEveryone I dealt with was no nice and very informative with explaining things to me. They were adamant about helping me but also making sure I didn’t spend unnecessary money if I didn’t have to. I most definitely will continue to use them along with my local dealership.They do great work and are very communicative of things! So grateful for for the Mercedes club of Michigan for putting me on!

Always upfront and I had a concern on a tire noise and they said it was not mechanical. They changed my EVAP system which was one of the reasons I took it. Comment: My wifes X3 w started giving faults where the car will go in a limp mode. The source of it was turbocharger. My old mechanic shop couldnt do a complex job such as turbocharge for a BMW. They didnt have the correct tools and the necessary computer for BMW vehicles.After doing some research online I found out Autohaus. Adam is the service manager and John is the sales person at Autohaus. They were very nice. Took my car and diagnosed that turbocharge was failing and also there is a leak in the line. It is a very common problem on X3 2013 especially the F25 series. If you do some search you will see lot of turbocharge failure issues. The part is made my Mitsubishi. They still made turbocharge for BMWs.It took them 9 days to fix it. They didnt charge me much on the unit itself. I did some search on the price of the unit if I buy online. They dont have a loaner, which is one downside. But they have an agreement with Enterprise on Woodward for very low rates rental vehicles.Long story short after they fixed I was still getting the same error codes. I took the car to them mutiple times to them. They noticed that there is no mechanical issues with it. Occasionally the computer was tripping and sending a wrong code. If you some search you will see in blocks that sometimes the computer thinks there is an error, but truly there is no error.The only way to stop the computer sending false errors was to perform an ECM software update.I waited for a few weeks and took my car when I had to replace the oil filter housing gasket and oil cooler seal. Those were getting worn out and minor leaks were happening. But the major leak was from engine oil pan drain plug was loose.Autohaus didnt charge me for the drain plug eventhough they didnt do oil change previously.Overall I am extremely satisfied with them. I would recommend Autohaus for German cars.

Comment: I called to ask about getting a newly-inherited car in for a couple of obvious issues and an overall inspection to identify any other issues. I was invited to drop my car off that same evening and by 9:00am the next morning they had diagnosed a few minor issues. The quote was reasonable and they had everything done (new brakes, new coolant overflow tank, new washer fluid pump, oil change, and brake fluid flush) within 4 hours. They even managed to save me a little money when they found that the washer fluid pump was just clogged, not totally shot. I couldn’t be happier. My 2006 Audi A8L is frighteningly expensive to repair and usually requires special tools and equipment. Autohaus has been my auto-angel with fair prices and great service. I WOULD recommend them to anyone looking for dependable auto repairs. 👍🏽

Comment: The best German car repair place in metro Detroit. These guys quietly go about caring for your car--when I first brought it in, I noticed they replaced an AC valve cap that was missing before I brought it there--that tells me a lot about them doing the right thing without fanfare. Its the simple small things that matter. They tell you what is priority and what can wait. Honest, reliable and competent. I couldnt ask for more when I entrust them with my older BMW E39. Great people!

Comment: Live out of state but needed to find as shop to do a Pre-Purchase Inspection on the BMW before I flew in to make the purchase. Wanted an independent shop and Autohaus reviews on line were solid. Called the shop to ask for their help/advice and spoke with Adam. Adam was super friendly/helpful and more than willing to accommodate.But heres what made the call the most special....based on my situation (unique BMW, one owner purchased from a local BMW dealership and serviced there its entire life), Adam recommended I have the dealership complete the PPI (their familiarity with the car, the benefit of having documentation from a the BMW dealership that had always serviced the car as a form of insurance in case the purchase went wrong, etc.). Had been my going in game plan but wanted a second opinion and Autohaus offered it up unsolicited. Adam still took time to talk me through known issues for the model/things to keep an eye out for and offered up Autohaus service if required at any point along the way.Solid, genuine service to someone who cold called the shop from out of state. I was really impressed and thankful for their willingness to support. Thanks Autohaus!

Comment: I highly recommend for any automotive work on german cars.Very communicative and understanding staff. Always pick up the phone or call you back within the workday, and treat you like a friend. They have misunderstood me a few times when I have asked for work to be done, but they do great work that is reliable.They did 95% of the job that I asked for, BUT there was a large issue they ran into so although I am disappointed, I understand. They did also communicate this to me once they found the issue.They seem to use OEM parts exclusivley which generally means great quality, but is also more costly than a supplier part that is identical and cheaper. Labor does cost $99/hour which is more than some dealerships Ive been to. That being said, they still do great work.They probably do work faster than most dealers, although I have found that they do underestimate how much time it takes to do a job, when they will be able to start doing work, and when they will get parts delivered.

Comment: I purchased a used 2007 Audi A4 that needed a quite a bit of work. I took it to Autohaus based on their online reputation. Best decesion ever. These are bright and helpful professionals. So far they have fixed an oil leak, replaced my timing belt, and replaced my front brakes. These repairs basically saved my car, and it is a complete joy to drive. Ive sinced moved away but continue to have my car serviced here because I understand the value in a top-quality, honest service center.

Comment: Adam and John saved my life. I was about to purchase a used BMW X5 from Suburban Troy Chrysler used cars. I had the car inspected here before I purchased. Best 100 dollars I ever spent. I could tell right away John and Adam were very professional and knew what they were talking about and were familiar with BMW, AUDI etc. They inspected the car and pointed out 3 major oil leaks and thousands of dollars of work that needed to be done. Needless to say I did not buy the car. I highly recommend these guys to anyone and I will refer them to as many family and friends as possible. Comment: Ive been taking my VWs to Autohaus for over 15 years and I traded my Jetta and purchased a Rabbit from them. Ive always been more than happy with the quality of their service and their knowledge. Theyve been great about telling me if they foresee a problem coming up and letting me know if I should take care of it immediately or just know its coming. Ive never felt like I was being uphold for questionable repairs for questionable repairs. I always leave with complete confidence that the repairs and maintenance have been done right. As to price, I think its very fair, especially since these are specialists in German cars who really know their business. And I can say that, at one point, my Jetta needed an expensive repair and they fixed it at half the cost of what a dealer quoted. And after a couple of years of trouble-free driving, they took that car in trade at a very fair price, so they must have had confidence in their own work! Smart and always professional is my experience.

Comment: Autohaus has been maintaining my 1988 Mercedes 560SL for several years now. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They provide great service and are always willing to take the time to explain what it is they are repairing and why. The mechanic that typically works on my vehicle is Franz, and there truly is no better a person to work on these older Mercedes - as he has superior knowledge and experience. Comment: I was a bit reluctant at first to consider a car with a manual transmission. The 2010 VW CC I test drove remedied that quickly. The only hick up after taking delivery was a dead battery when the temperatures plunged > Autohaus stepped up and covered the cost of a new one, no hassle whatsoever. Gerry, Jon and the team are great to work with, made the purchase process smooth. The car is running great in the meantime.

Comment: Ive been taking my VWs and Audis to Autohaus for nearly 15 years and have never had any negative experiences at all. Jerry or Bob always gives sound advice and always explains the best options in terms that anyone could understand. The only other place I would take my vehicles would be to the dealer...and thats only if something was covered under factory warranty or recall. Now I might consider changing my review to 5 stars if you guys would remember to put a GD milelage sticker on the winsheild after an oilchange! 😉

Comment: This place is good. I took my VW Golf for the 40K tune up and they helped me determine what actually needed tuning vs the laundry list VW tells you for their dealers to make money. The owner took the time to go for a test ride to listen to some odd noises the car was experiencing. The price of repairs was very fair and everyone I encountered was incredibly friendly and knowledgable about my vehicle.

Comment: I have taken my 2001 VW in the Autohaus two times. The first time was for a coolant flush. Autohaus let me bring in my own coolant, granted it was VW spec G12 and they would have put the same stuff in anyways and my own coolant flange which was leaking and only charged me an hour for labor. I left a happy customer. Today I brought my car back in and had my valve cover gasket replaced, which was leaking oil for a long time. They gave me 25$ labor off because I of an email they sent me and also cleaned up my engine, replaced a vacuum hose and also put some screw clamps on my PCV hose, which I think was slightly loose and griming up my engine. That was a pleasant surprise when I opened my hood after and found that they went above and beyond. Also They perform an inspection on the car and also wash it. You can take your car in here knowing with confidence that Autohaus will do a good job.

Comment: Jerry is a good man. I looked at an Audi of his, an A8. The car was gorgeous, super clean, a Florida car brought up from the Sunshine State. Jerrys son lives down there and brings cars up as there are so many more foreign cars down there. He took the time to show me every single thing about the car. He knew everything about it. Of course he does. He and his top notch mechanics are the creme de la creme Teutonic mechanics in the State of Michigan. He took the time to ride with me during the test drive. This is not usual. Most salespeople, even at thriving dealerships, dont take the time to drive the car with you. Jerry and AutoHaus know the cars they sell. This is crucial. BETTER than buying a car from the Audi or BMW dealership. MORE personalized service. A REAL German automobile repair shop full of all of the know how that goes in tow. Although I wasnt ready to pull the trigger, over nothing more than the color of the car, I knew that I would not be sold a lemon or bill of goods on a known rotten apple. Like any encounter with a used auto salesman, one goes in with doubts. But the more I think about my experience, the more I realize, this is the place to go when the right car for me personally presents itself at Royal Oak Autohaus.
