Comment: Ive had my car worked on at Advanced Import Repair twice now and they have done excellent work. The pricing isnt any higher or lower than other places in the area, but theyre an honest business and have great communication. The shop itself is also very clean. This coming from someone who is paranoid about dropping their car off anywhere because of damage thats been done to it in the past by mechanics. I highly suggest giving AIR a call if youre having automotive trouble. They always got me in within a couple days.

Comment: Wow! Good service, good people and good pricing! Vacationing in St. Joesph we experienced car issues. Not knowing anyone in the area, we called the closest mechanic to where our vehicle broke down. Super nervous that we as “vacationers” would be taken advantage of.Matt’s Auto Repair didn’t have an opening until after Labor Day but he was kind enough to call John, an acquaintance who owns Advanced Import Repair, in Benton Harbor. Just talking to Matt put us at ease. We felt he was an honest man and we were not wrong! Within an hour of having our car towed to Advanced Import, we were given a very reasonable quote for a new starter and they had it fixed and ready to be pick up by the end of that day!!!!! We can highly recommend this place for anyone local or vacationers who are looking for an honest mechanic and fair pricing! Staff was also extremely friendly and efficient! Can’t say enough good things about the service we got! Thanks John and staff for everything!

They are able to quickly diagnose your issue, quote a very reasonable repair time and cost, and execute on it quickly. Some of my repairs were complete overnight and ready for pickup the next day, and the longest only being 2 days for larger repairs.I have a 30+ year old car, and they have been able to overcome the challenge of sourcing parts nearly every time. They are upfront and honest, and if you have an issue that isnt in their scope, they are able to point you to someone how can solve it.I highly recommend this shop and dont see myself going to another in the foreseeable future.

I got the advice to go here from a family member after I started looking for another repair shop, and to be honest, after taking my car here, I wouldnt trust anyone else with my car. Ive been here twice now - once for my daughters car and once for mine. They got me in very quickly and were very accommodating. They are very reasonably priced (they have been amazing here every time!) and extremely friendly. I have never regretted taking my car here.

Comment: We just used Advanced Auto Imports for a wheel bearing issue. They diagnosed the problem efficiently and repaired it quickly. What really impressed me was their honesty. After repairs were made they said it took the mechanics less time than estimated and he reduced the bill accordingly. They could have easily not told me this and charged the full amount estimated, but they didn’t. Their honesty and efficiency are refreshing. We will be going back to them in the future.

Comment: The past 3-4 years Ive taken two of my vehicles in whenever either of them required work I was unable to perform. 2004 Subaru Forester XT and my 2007 Honda Civic Si. Just about a week ago they did an entire transmission replacement and clutch/flywheel job on my 07 civic Si. Car feels great. Clutch was grabby at first but after 500 miles feels very smooth. The guys in their shop have saved me plenty of headache over the past couple years and I really appreciate their honesty and good work ethic. Seems to me if you are a regular customer that pays their bill everytime , on time then they dont mind going the extra mile to get a job done right. They also will tell you ahead what things may be worn out or need work in the future without trying to upsell you right away. Imo that is hard to find at an auto shop now a days.

Comment: Very honest, informative car repair. We have taken our vehicles here for repair one import one electric car. Both times they informed us of the problem and how it happened and fixed the repair the same day.The cost was a fair market under $500 and the honesty is worth every penny. The shop is clean and they treat you with respect no matter if you are a male or a female.As a female some mechanic shops or auto places can be intimidating. I am very mechanically inclined and never once did I feel talked down or treated unfairly due to my gender at their business. They gave thorough explanations and answered any or all of my questions respectfully. Places like this are hard to come by.They have cameras outside so if you had to get your car towed or if you needed to drop it off you feel safe doing so. I had a friend of mine drop her car off to get repaired here as well and she also had excellent service from them too.The only thing I would feel could have been more informed on is where to put the keys if you were dropping off a vehicle but we figured it out and sorta thought about why they concealed it probably so people cannot try to get the keys out once they are dropped them in. Its like an exhaust hole in one of the bay doors.It was an excellent experience. Highly recommend.Cost $$$ out of $$$$$

Comment: I typically do not write any reviews but these guys went above and beyond. I needed a heater core flush due to heat issues in my car, I called to make an appointment. The gentlemen on the phone was polite and was able to get me in the next day. Over the phone he quoted me $99 and imformed me that if the repair didnt work I would not be charged. I brought my car in, they let me know that if they flush the system it could get clogged back up. I let them flush the system which only took about 15-20 minutes. It took a little longer to pay ( Im assuming they put me into their system) Not to mention, the guy at the front desk knocked the price down from $99 to $75. I highly reccomend these guys. Quick, Friendly, Honest, and Fairly priced. All what a mechanic shop should be

Comment: Visiting from Virginia with bad tires on my boat trailer. They troubleshot the wear pattern, checked bearings, axle, suspension, etc. and even called in a trailer specialist just to be sure. After all that, they determined the trailer was fine, and the tires were worn due to age and under inflation. They topped up my Bearing Buddies with grease sent me on my way (no charge!) for new tires at Discount Tires down the block. Very pleasant experience all around!

Comment: This place is awesome! I was referred here from a business around the corner. I called last week and they got me in quickly. When I called to schedule my appointment, Jane was super friendly, and was just as friendly when I walked through those doors! She greeted me with a smile and made me feel right at home (even offered me part of her lunch...I graciously declined, but thought it was the nicest gesture). Next, I met Jason. He took such good care of my car while doing a thorough check on my brakes and showing me what needed to be fixed, and went out of his way to explain the cost breakdown. He also gave me updates as he was working on it. I really appreciated this. This place is extremely fair and they really put their customers first! I am taking Grad classes right now and they let me hook into their Wi-Fi! I was able to hammer out some of my classwork while I waited for my car to be done. I also enjoyed sitting on their fancy leather couch equipped with drink holders and working headlights! Super Cool! I cant say enough about this great place! Not only was the price reasonable they changed the tensioner for free after changing the belt and realizing it was bad. They topped it off and its shifting like its suppose to.

I was recommended to have her car towed to Advanced Import Repair by few other shops in the area. (good reputation) AIR was also booked solid but Jane there was able to work us in. One of the techs worked after hours to was to troubleshoot our vehicle. They replaced the faulty part prior to our scheduled return to the area which meant we did not need to make a special trip. Comment: John VanLandingham and his staff here at Advanced are an absolute joy to deal with. People typically liken having to go to the auto repair shop with having to go to the dentist, but that is not the case here! I cant count the times that John and his staff have been the consummate professionals, clear in what needs to be done to repair my vehicle(s) issues, ALWAYS saves me money compared to other local quotes to fix the same issue, does it in an expedient and timely manner and actually fixes the problem. Refreshing in this day and age. You have customers for life and I wish there was higher than a 5-Star rating!

They explained what I needed done....even took me into the work area to explain. And even showed me how some of there equipment works. Comment: My truck engine light came on and I took it to Advance Import & the service I received was wonderful, they worked with my warranty company for me sent in all my paperwork that the warranty company needed for me and because I had to make my sons graduation they got it repair done ahead of schedule. The service is outstanding, pricing is fair... If not cheater and the quality of work is great and I forgot to mention they did a follow up call about 2 days later. No other place is touching my truck again!

Comment: My wife and I recently moved to southwest Michigan from California. I had been looking for a reputable auto repair shop that was local. I tried out several and was mildly pleased. But then I developed a bad brake problem on my vehicle which I needed repaired ASAP. I had seen the very positive reviews on Advanced Import Repair and had always wanted to try out that shop. I called them with the brake issue and they had me come in right away to diagnose the problem. While there, they not only diagnosed the problem but took me into the work area to SHOW it to me. I was then given an estimate as to how much it would cost to repair the problem, which I felt was very reasonable. They had me bring it in first thing the next morning and I had my vehicle back in time for when I needed it.I need to say I really enjoyed meeting everybody at that shop. There is a friendly helpful family feeling about it which made me feel valued. They also are extremely qualified, I believe, to service just about any kind of vehicle, domestic or import, for just about anything.I think I found my reputable local auto repair shop!!! 5 stars for them!

Comment: The service given by this business is truly refreshing. from the time you walk in the door you are met with a friendly conversation and immediately get the feeling that they know what they are doing. Thats followed up by them asking questions as to your needs for repair and even though I had been to another business that told me I needed one thing, Advance Imports found that what was needed was something different and after doing a diagnostic on my vehicle they discovered that my problem wasnt as serious as I had been led to believe. I was in and out the door in just over an hour.The owner is a professional in his field and everyone including the gentlemen behind the counter is even able to give suggestions as to what might be the problem. Everyone in the business makes you feel like you are a member of their family and gives you the service like you are a family member.

I dropped my keys off to them and told them to call me, expecting a call monday. I got call the same day, it could be fixed that day if I wanted. Absolutely sold me! Things were looking pretty dire until we saw the faces of the good people here. It turned out to be our good luck that we happened to break down so close to them, even though we were almost 5 hours from home. Jon Vanlandingham is one of the nations best mechanics. Were thrilled with the way our car handles, now, after having it fixed locally, already.

Comment: I cant say enough good things about John and his staff! I experienced car trouble while driving through BH on I-94. I called them and described my problems and John invited me right over to take a look. Knowing I was just passing through, he got the car right in and began work. He provided me with my options, and recommended the less expensive fix given my vehicle has nearly 300,000 miles on it. I went to grab lunch while the repairs were taking place, and John called with bad news. The part that had been delivered for the fix had a flaw, and there would be a delay in getting a new one by a few hours. He gave me an option to do the more expensive fix for nearly the same price as the previously agreed upon less expensive one so the car would be done more quickly and I would be back on my way. As a business owner myself, I recognize a place that is run with integrity, care, and pride, for the customer, employees, and their work. Well done John and staff! Your community should be proud to have you as a member.
